This is one of my favorite campgrounds! It is always a good time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are cleaned regularly. Most of the campers that go here are also friendly. If you have little kids they have plenty for them to do to stay busy.

My family and I have been going here every year for the past 10years during Oct. KOA has Trick or Treating for the kids and a haunted house for the Month. They also have a playground, bounce pillow, mini golf and much more. Staff is friendly and helpful. Already booked again for next year!

I rented a tent site for 1 night and was able to check-in before 1pm. This was my 1st camping trip and the staff was friendly and helpful. I visited all the amenities and spent time in the game room. Some activities were unavailable or closed during my mid-week stay (movie theater, pillow jump). The comfort station was clean and well stocked with toilet paper and hand soap. I also enjoyed the pancakes.

The location is beautiful. We stayed last April on our way to in Virginia Beach. We only stayed one night but our site was appropriate, staff was courteous and helpful. We wish we had spent more time there!

Very nice campground. Hope to return in the future. Wonderful view of the mountains. We had site #30. Some sites are a little tight but we had enough room to enjoy our stay. Pool was large and clean. Very close to the Harpers Ferry attractions. Camp store was very nice and all the people that work there were extremely nice too. The Wifi here was fantastic which is rare for most campgrounds. This KOA is worth the visit.

This is a very nice KOA. Convenient to historic downtown Harpers Ferry. The camp store is very well stocked, a little bit of everything. During season they serve pan cakes and other items for breakfast. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend.

This is a big rig friendly campground, but be sure to do your homework. We have a VERY big rig and did not fit well on our first site. They were very helpful in getting us moved. Call, look at site map. Sites 1-10 were easy access. The ones up the hill, 28-55 are tricky, mostly because of the boulders and tree branches. Roads are narrow. There are big sites in the back, but again, narrow roads and trees. We did see people get back there, but we would not have made it.
Wifi poor and was cell (TMobile). We would definitely stay again.

Decent sized camp ground several options for different types of sites including multiple cabin options. Indoor game room, craft room, gym, pool, playground, basketball court, mini golf, jump pad, and more! The central area offered 15 plus showers that were clean and well kept. Large laundry area near dog park. The camp store was large and had anything you could need. Right next to a national historic park.

Very fun weekend! We took three teenagers and they had a great time at basketball, volleyball and the arcade. There's a lot for kids to do. We did rafting at River Riders--there is a walking path there from the campground. The only negative is the lack of knowledge of the employees at registration. I called ahead to find out what was there, and they didn't know much. As a result, we brought lots of unnecessary stuff. When checking in, they sent us to the wrong cabin (in a completely different area). Here's some info in case it can help someone be more informed than we were:

The camp store is well-stocked. They have all the basics, plus beer and wine. Wood is $7 per bundle and they will deliver to your site.

Coffee is available at Grapes and Grinds. The lady that worked there is very knowledgeable--go to her with questions about the area.

There are a couple of restaurants that deliver to the campground. Those were advertised on the map we got at registration.

The pavilion sells pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage and coffee during the summer season 8-11am.

We stayed in cabin KL05. KL01-KL07 are lodges with bathrooms. Don't confuse them with K101, etc. I don't know why they don't change the numbers...the staff can't even keep it straight. Anyway, the ones that start with KL are lodges (L for lodge). Ours was nice, clean and had the most comfortable queen mattress we've found in a campground cabin. Here's what's in the lodge, so maybe you won't have to pack so much:

The queen bed is made with clean linens and pillows. There's a set of linens and pillows for the twin beds. All were fresh and clean. We only needed a fitted full sheet to cover the futon. There was a coverlet and pillow for that, but we didn't see any sheets.

There is a hairdryer in the bathroom. There are also hotel style shampoos and bar soaps. Bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths are provided.

In the kitchen, there is a full-sized refrigerator with top freezer. There's a microwave and two-burner stove. No oven. There's a Kuerig with four pods of various flavors. There are pots and pans, eating and cooking utensils, bowls, a cutting board, cups and glasses, and measuring cups and spoons. There's dish detergent and a clean towel.

There are paper towels, toilet paper and two trash bags.

Outside there is a fire ring with picnic table. The fire ring has the big grill that flips so it can be over the fire. If you are going to use that, you will probably need a grill brush to clean it.

Hope this helps someone pack. Have a great time!

Had a really fun time here even though it rained on and off for two days. All the site connections worked, the spot was reasonably leveled. Played some air hockey in the game room, checked out mini golf. Best of all the facilities were clean and it was quiet and peaceful. It's still the off-season so it wasn't very crowded. Lots of historic sites in the area and right next to the National Historical Park.

Hands down the best KOA we've ever stayed at. I will say that if you're camping with children this is hands down your best place I've seen in a long time with lots of activities, playgrounds, arcade, and a pool if you're here at the right time of year. The campsites are relatively small which is what I expect from a commercial campground. We did look at a couple of the comfort stations in the bathroom showers are clean and have been updated very well. The camp store is also outstanding and they have an attached theater for kids movies that they show in the evenings. Also during the peak part of the summer they have plenty of help with lots of that planned activities for children and some for adults. One last thing the roads are fairly tight and most spots are back-in so you better be good at maneuvering your trailer.

Great place and big improvements since last time! Went from seeing confederate flags, including an entire section in the gift shop. Now, none in sight, and now, campers of color! Gift shop has replaced the confederate flag swag with peace signs and rainbow Harpers Ferry stickers.

Yay inclusivity! Way to go KOA.

This time, we felt safe camping with our daughter 🌈

Harpers Ferry Koa overall is a great family camp ground!!! I have had so many great memories from each visit. There are some
areas that could use some upgrades, but the pros of this campground definitely outweigh the cons.

Pros!
There are a lot of amenities! Some are included or at an additional cost. On one of our weekend stays they had a mini carnival theme. Other activities such as slime making, sand art and more. The staff was amazing with our kids.

Jumping pillow
Putt-Putt
Playground
Swimming Pool
Indoor/Outdoor Basketball courts
Pedal Karts $
Arcade $
Pool/ Air Hockey $
Movie Theater
Community Fire pit
Laundry Facility $
Large outdoor sink area

There is a store that has a lot of neat stuff in there. Expensive, but convenient. There is also a Walmart not far from the camp ground. Right before coming in to the campground there is a house that has firewood for sale which was less expensive than in the store. Have cash with you as it’s just an honors system.

I stayed in cabin KLO1 2 times. My group had 5 out of 6 of the luxury cabins and KLO1 was the best one. It seemed as you went down the line of them they were older and in need of maintenance. Still overall nice cabins. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything. We were definitely “glamping”.

The cabins without all the amenities were used without the kids. If you want to be further away from all the amenities and something more private I enjoyed the rustic cabins nestled on a hill. If you have someone with mobility issues this area might not be the greatest. There are steps, but even with that it might be a challenge. I stayed in 3 different rustic cabins and each had things that should be replaced. One window unit was in really bad shape. The filter was filthy. The gap under the door was not comforting thinking of rodents coming under. Some had some cardboard to cover the gap. One cabin had stink bugs all over the place and dead ones on the curtains. So please keep in mind these are very rustic. I didn’t mind it so much because we were camping. We knew ahead of time it was a rustic cabin. They do have electricity and a window unit.

So this leads me to the bathrooms. The first few times I was only aware of one bath house area. And they were okay. They didn’t get cleaned as much as I thought they should and I would grade them D to a C depending on the day. Now there is another set of bathrooms and this area I would give an A. They are very clean and once we found those I was very happy. I think they might be closed in the off-season or I just missed them.

The pancake house we loved! Do not go off of the hours on their site. We also never once saw the grill area open in the arcade. We were staying off season though.

When we did get to experience the pancake house it was VERY well priced and a great breakfast. The staff was absolutely amazing!!!! One lady just adored our kids and the first day we got there she said come see me tomorrow morning. We found out later her name was Tammy. My mother who passed over 10 years ago unexpectedly from a car accident was named Tammy. It warmed our hearts and made our trip. She was so sweet and kind and reminded us of our dear Loved one. Some people in this world are just the kindest souls you will ever meet. Most of the staff was. There were only a few not so pleasant.

Early check in is advertised, but not really honored. But they did let us use some of the amenities and we were grateful about that.

So on to the cons. I kind of mentioned them within the review. But overall this is a nice campground for families. Nearby is Harpers Ferry National Park. I also purchased our own tubes online and you can drop them in near some of the paid tubing programs and do it yourself. You can pay to park at a few of the places for $10. There is also an adventure park near for zip lining and more.

This truly has been a great campground for my family. Thanks Harpers Ferry KoA for a great time and so many memories!

Easy access in and out. KOA has breakfast ($) so that last day is a non-cook day which is great. Not far from hiking, tubing, and the battlefield.

Beautiful campground. The Halloween events really set it apart. They happen every weekend in October.

We had an enjoyable stay. We had spot 47, paid the extra to reserve it. It wasn't bad. We were able to level out pretty easy, and hookups were perfect. The area had had a lot rain prior to our arrival, so it was really muddy. But you could see that they tried to work around it by putting hay out, especially in our spot. I am certain if we had asked for more, they would have done it. It is very tight, though. Our neighbors were super nice and tolerated our stupid car alarm randomly going off. First trip with our new rig, we had no idea that it had a motion sensor and our dog was setting it off. We didn't use the amenities, but that was on us. Everyone on staff that we came in contact with was great. You can see all the improvements going on, and that was nice to see. Like most KOA'S the WIFI was terrible, but the area in general seems to lack any phone service. We weren't there for the internet, though.
