Great place to learn some local history and have fun with the kids. Lots of shaded areas and park like seating as well as picnic tables. Limited hours for tours offered throughout the week.

Visited an hour before closing. Looked at the grounds which has different buildings with exhibits. It seems to be meant as a self-tour. It was not obvious that the main house required a price of admission, but I was able to be shown a little of it because it was the last hour. Thank you, random staff girl!

The WWII event at Rosehill Manor was really wonderful. The soldiers took young and old visitors on a trip to the past. The UFO show gave us Laurel and Hardy skits, big band singers and entertained everyone. Seeing the old trucks, cars, tents filled with only that era's communication tools made one realize that the lack of computers, cell phones and gadgets still enabled our men and women the ability to put a stop to Hitler.

Outstanding historical museum. This beautiful manor house was built in 1793 and is finished with period antiques. The best part of our visit was the guided tour by our knowledgable guide (docent) who led us through the large home and described the lives of the wealthy owners as well as the enslaved servants whose work made possible a life of ease. Children should understand this history in order to understand how very fortunate we are today and the comfort and hard won freedom we enjoy today. We had our 12 year old grandson with us. The home is hands on so children and tweens can see and use some of the simpler musical instruments and wooden toys as well as hear about the lives of the household members .

This is such a beautiful place. Really next different events. Well organized. Friendly people and doesnt cost an arm and leg to go. Usually $5 per ticket for certain events. No paid parking, no paid ride tickets. Just the entrance fee. We've been here for many gatherings and always have such a wonderful time! Somthing for all ages.(literally our crew has ages 70 years- down to 5) even the teenagers and tweens found enjoyment! Please do yourselves a favor and go to rose hill manor events.

It's a great place for adults! Don't let 'children's museum' fool you. Guides will show you through this 1800s house with many architectural features that span its history. Outbuildings include a 1745 log cabin, blacksmith shop, and Carriage Museum. 2024 season begins April 4. The manor house is open for tours Thursday thru Sunday, 11:00am to 4:00 pm. There is an admission. Park is open from 8:00am until sundown.

The park and museum was amazing. The your guides were extremely knowledgeable and great with our group. We used the picnic area and restrooms. All was kept in good order. I would recommend putting this on your list. They also have lots of great events throughout the year too.

We really enjoy visiting the Museum & Carriage House every time we attend the annual car show. An added treat was the WWII reenactors & encampment.

We went on a Sunday and it was a perfect time to go. The person giving the tour was incredible! His was very knowledgeable and really made it fun and interactive for the children. You could tell he loved what he was doing and everyone was very impressed. A hidden gem. Well worth a visit for any age.

Lovely local historical park. It's a great place to get kids to think about and experience history. It's not huge, but my kids love the kid museum (toy) section. The grounds are pretty, and there is something interesting for everyone. They host fun summer camps for kids and there are frequently fun events and festivals. If it interests you at all, the WWII weekend is not to be missed.

Wonderful museum for both adults and children. Guided tour available and Diane was extremely knowledgeable and personable. She spent over 4 hours with us as they were not busy the day we visited . We had a chance to watch a demonstration of old muskets as a bonus. The auxiliary buildings on the property were facinating and the carriage museum was worth the visit by itself . Will stop by again on our next trip to Frederick, Maryland .

This is a great little gem hidden in the middle of Frederick. It's a great museum about life in revolutionary and pre-civil war Frederick. Its great for kids and has a ton of toys and other items for them to play with.

We went late in the season and got a personal tour since we were the only people there. They also have various events through the summer, which sounded fun, although we didn't get to experience them.

We've gone for the Trick or Treating event for the last couple of years and had a good time. The kids enjoy the different stops and I enjoy seeing what historical or pop culture figures that staff and volunteers dress up to resemble. It's a fun event and a good fundraiser for the park.
