A great trail for when you don’t have hours and hours to spend but want to see some real natural beauty. I brought my dog and she loved it. The trails were a bit tough for someone with knee issues but for anyone in moderately decent shape this would be a cake walk.

Excellent dog friendly trail located in Polk county North Carolina near Tryon. There is a registration folder I'd ask about persons involved in the hike and number of dogs. Dogs are allowed on leash. The hikes are somewhat strenuous but lead through some interesting or aesthetically pleasing flora. The trails lead to two main destinations from the parking. One is the cliff and the other is the waterfall. The waterfall is named Drip Falls. Limited parking available but also not highly frequented by other visitors. You can also check the registry book and see if anyone else is there while you're there if you're looking for a more private and reclusive experience. A trail map is available at the beginning of the hike of big map on a poster board and there is smaller trail map brochure tri-fold things available to take with you on the trails. I highly recommend the Norman Wilder Forest to anyone in the area looking for an interesting patch to walk through without a lot of crowding.

Good hike. Red trail to the wall is rightly labelled as "strenuous," a good chunk of the trail is a small rut on the side of the hill and the terrain is almost entirely uphill at a steep slope. Cool view of the wall at the top. Yellow trail to the falls is much easier, with a really cool view above the falls that sees the mountains in the distance.

Love love this hiking trail. It has a two different trails. You can take a harder or a job easier path it has to falls you go over it’s absolutely stunning.

Had a great hike up to see the falls. The trail is maintained and easy to follow. It’s very kid friendly.

Great little uphill hike to a little waterfall. The foundation and chimney of an old building is also located along trail.

Quiet, peaceful hiking trails with a glimpse at the history of the area and early settlers.

The children loved following the trail and hearing the creek until they finally found a place to touch the water.

As the only hiker there during my entire visit, I found the solitude luxurious. I saw where someone wrote that this is a beginner trail. That is not true. One begins at the base of the Blue Ridge Escarpment and climbs 500 feet in altitude. The primary direction is UP! Don't go thinking this is a leisurely stroll through the forest, Red Riding Hood! The trail had treasures for those willing to uncover them.

This trail is very deceiving. It looks like something that you will have an easy trail to something not very scenic being it is so close to the road but it is not. The parts labeled moderate are fairly steep and strenuous, so much so that I was too tired to do the strenuous labeled trail. They are probably labeled moderate due to sometimes being flat and other times steep. I really enjoyed the trails though being I was looking to do some serious hiking. It was a nice hidden gem during my day.

a fun, short (60min?) set of trails with lots of variety. we found the trail very well marked although the tougher red trail (cliff) was a bit more overgrown than the easy yellow trail (waterfall). I don't think it's heavily trafficked either as parking is small and we saw no one for the hour or so we were there.

Beautiful trail outside Saluda. The variety of trees is amazing and waterfalls everywhere! Quiet, peaceful. The views are wide and majestic and you can see the Pacolet River which is full of gigantic boulders. The trail is a bit on the steep side but definitely doable. There are cliffs to hike up to. After hiking, go into Saluda to support local business, have a brew, and some good food.

Beautiful hike! More strenuous at times than we anticipated but really enjoyed it. Our dogs loved playing in the water.
