Abuelita's Mexican Restaurant

We came here once when it was first open, and I was not impressed. I have to say, tho, they have figured it out! We recently returned here, and everything we tried was so delicious! From the salsa to the enchiladas and on to the guacamole, so yummy! The servers are attentive, check back, and keep your tea filled. Oh, and the tea is really good, too! You won't be disappointed if you choose to eat here. You will, however, be full as a tick and still wanting to eat more! Can't wait to return...see you there!

I got the lunch burrito special, and the meat, rice, beans, and sauces were delicious! I should have gotten a pic, but it was so yummy that I didn’t think of it. The owner is a kind man, and the staff were very helpful and patient. This place is beautiful too! It has a great atmosphere and will be a great spot to bring friends and family.

This was a fun place to hang out with our friends. Food was good, margarita was delicious, price was fair. I will go back!

Great food, and the service was excellent! I'm so glad that my husband and I found a wonderful place for lunch! I had the #6 lunch special with a taco and sour cream chicken enchalada with added guacamole, and Rick chose Taco dinner plate with an extra taco.

Great place for authentic Mexican food! Service was amazing! Friendly staff and very accommodating. We arrived 20 mins before closing time and the told us to sit down and there was no problem with us coming before closing.

Very good and authentic Mexican food. The chips come out warm, the salsa has a good flavor of cilantro and has decent spice. Brisket tacos had good flavor as did the Baylor burrito.

I love this restaurant. The salsa is some of the best I have had. I am very happy they reopened. This is a great local restaurant you don't want to let close! Support local restaurants!

For me and my family this is the best Mexican Restaurant in the area. The food is so good, the Margarita's are amazing and the service is excellent. And I must not forget the complimentary chips and salsa. If the owner is there, he comes by to our table and chats with us for a bit.
We have been coming here since moving to the area around 4 years ago.

Our server was Mike and he was literally exceptional ! He was wonderful and made our experience that much more wonderful! We got the Carne Asada & of course a TOPSHELF MARGARITA !! - it was ALL fantastic, tasty and perfectly cooked, and the beans were very tasty topped with just a tad of shredded blend of cheese. It was just wonderful ! Thank you so much !

We had a great meal of Fajitas & a #28. Food came out fast and it was hot. The chips and salsa were a wonderful starter. Our server was sweet and attentive. We went in about 5:30 on a Tuesday, so there was no wait. The staff was friendly & efficient. Discount for cash payment. 👍🏻

Food was really good. Servings were awesome. It's about time a Mexican restaurant actually puts more than a tablespoon of rice for a serving. Chicken enchilada was packed full of chicken. Beans were very good too. Crispy taco was huge. Seated fast and friendly service. Owner came to the tables to talk to people. Prices are good for what you get. I'll definitely be back.

Hands down the best Mexican food in Waco. Service is always good and the atmosphere is cozy and not loud which is ideal for me.

The carne asada was great. Loved the food, was clean and not crowded. Waitress was nice and checked constantly on us. Will be back again for sure.

This place was absolutely phenomenal! The food was hot and delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was exactly as you'd expect in a Tex-Mex restaurant. We are from out of town, but I am definitely going to stop here again if I ever come through Waco in the future! What a gem!
