La Hacienda de Los Barrios

My wife and kids and I have been coming here for a while now. There's a nice little playground for the kids to run off and play and the outside seating has mist fans now that make Texas weather a little more tolerable. Most of my dining experiences here have been somewhat average but we went last night and I have to say it was the best I've had. Our waiter Cain was extremely attentive and always nearby all I had to do was look up and lands his way and he was right on top of things. The food came out quickly and was excellent preceded by delicious salsa with great house chips. They have a handmade corn tortilla here that is to die for I definitely recommend trying that. Overall this was an amazing experience mostly due to excellent service and great food! Highly recommended!

I visited last Wednesday with two friends that I hadn’t seen in decades 😱. Our food was so delicious and well presented. I had chicken enchiladas and my friends both had beef taco plates. We started with mango margaritas and queso which went down a treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our reunion and the tasty food. The music was canceled due to rain but we will return.

Enchanting outdoor seating, a huge patio under sprawling oaks, all created a magical atmosphere for a delicious dinner! The scent of garlic and onions teased the senses as swift-footed waiters and waitresses left platters of sizzling fajitas. Free chips and salsa, sides of traditional refried beans and rice, vegan fajitas. With occasional plopping of falling acorns, great conversation, and well-sung music, a fantastic memory was created.

This place is good for the older crowd vibe. Has a good drink selection and nice oak trees outside to eat in good weather. They have mister fans outside and heaters if its real cold. The food is a nice portion and had an alright flavor. I ordered the fish tacos. However, they had no sauce. The fish itself was good, but tue lack of sauce and just dried vegetables to put in the tacos was a letdown for me. I'll try something else next time.

The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. The margaritas are delicious and the food is always fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend trying their fajitas and enchiladas. Overall, La Hacienda is a wonderful spot for a fun night out.

We enjoy the delicious food dishes, the excellent service & atmosphere. We are a group of friends for over 20 years. We try to get together monthly to celebrate birthdays or just because we love spending time together. La Hacienda de Los Barrios is one of our favorite spots.

A favorite for many years living in San Antonio and still a favorite when we are back to visit. Delicious food, great service and and a beautiful location. Just remember if you dine outside on their beautiful patio you may have to fight off the flies!

Came here on a Sunday to sit outside to have a few drinks over lunch. It wasn't crowded at all, but was quoted a 30 min wait for an outside table. I assume it was due to more tables available than waitstaff. I put my name on the list, but a table was ready within 10 minutes.

Server was very prompt and friendly. Took the drinks and appetizers orders while I looked over the rest of the menu. It wasn't hot, but all the trees provided plenty of shade. Started off with a few margaritas and the puffy tacos. Drinks came out within 5 minutes and the puffy tacos within 15 minutes. Margaritas were very refreshing while sitting on the outdoor patio. Puffy tacos were very good as they had a nice crispy, puffy shell filled with meat and veggies. For the meal, ordered the mixed fajitas for two and they came out within 15 minutes. The amount of beef and chicken was well-portioned with a generous amount of vegetables with sides of rice, beans, guacamole, and salsa.

Many people were casually eating and drinking while enjoying the weather, but you never felt rushed. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday over food and drinks while enjoying the weather.

My husband brought me for our anniversary dinner. Food was amazing, ambiance was great, live musician was mellow and relaxing, server was exceptional! Queso flameado was to die for! DRINKS… let me tell you about the margaritas! Words can not express how much I loved the drinks. The bartenders know how to make a drink!!!!!

We discovered this place about a month ago while we were researching places for my brother's 70th birthday party.. We love Mexican food and there's no better fiesta than having dinner with Mariachis. We have a tradition of always getting bloody Marys. They make a mean one that makes you want to get a second.They have several outdoor tents with heaters.
I would give their menu B+. I think they could have a better Sunday brunch menu.
A very limited breakfast selection and no pancakes. They have delicious sauces with the best mole sauce in town.. they have a small playground with a slide and swing for children. I believe it is 3rd generation family owned and operated. Another plus in my book. They do pay attention to details. One last thing, they have a photographer that takes photos of your table then at the end of your meal you have an option to purchase. We didn't the first time. But the second time we did because our 90 yr mom was with us.

Excellent experience. We had margaritas, flautas, the enchilada assortment, and chips and salsa. Miguel was our waiter and was very attentive. The culture was diverse and the customer service was amazing. While the menu was more pricey than others, it was worth it. We will definitely be back.

The ambiance was very romantic and cozy, as for the food it was done perfectly with the right amount of seasoning and garnishing. The portions were much larger than I anticipated. The prices were a little steep but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for and in order to get the best sometimes a little more is in order. It was very busy on a Saturday and even though there restaurant was packed our server attended us as though we were the only ones in the restaurant, even better was how fast the food arrived. I usually am very picky what I eat especially when it comes to Tex Mex and authentic Mexican food and I could not pick at anything. ( I usually will not use public restrooms, the restrooms were so clean it looked as though it was cleaned after every person. My only complaint is that the silverware still had food on them, I know it can happen but it really shouldn't be an issue at such a high quality authentic ethnic food. I will be recommending this restaurant to anyone I can, I want everyone to be able to experience this 1st hand.

My favorite Mexican food hands down. I’m so in love with this food. Gorgeous, traditional restaurant with great family ambiance. The service is incredible. Waters, salsa, and margaritas on the table in under 45 seconds at 6:30pm on a Friday. We got to meet the owner who shared with us their family history and also brought us samples of some of their dishes. I love you La Hacienda!!!! ❤❤❤

I had my rehearsal dinner here! The process was super easy to understand and book. They accommodated 43 people! The food is fantastic and the drinks are strong and delicious. They even have live music.
They have a huge outdoor area that’s covered with tents, which is genius. 10s across the board

Awesome Mexican food in North East San Antonio!!! Just had dinner and I ordered the El Traditional that has two cheese enchiladas and one beef puffy taco. My wife ordered a beef fajita taco and tamales. If you are here and want to try a variety of margaritas try the sampler. Best service and friendly staff.

A group of us came here when we were visiting from Chicago. Owner was so nice. Live music was great and outdoor patio had a great ambience. We really enjoyed it!

La Hacienda de Los Barrios was the perfect place to host our rehearsal dinner! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party of about 60 people. Our guests, local and out of town, had a wonderful and enjoyed the food so much! There was plenty of space inside the restaurant for our guests to sit apart from the rest of the customers and enjoy the party. If you are looking for a place to host a celebration, this place is a wonderful!

My first impression of this restaurant is that is was definitely not you typical chain. The ambiance was great, it was almost like being at a Mexican resort. The service was good and the food was outstanding. I'm looking forward to return during warmer weather to enjoy their outdoor patios. They also have a play area outside for the children. The prices seem a little high but they do give you a lot of food on your plate.

The food wasn't spectacular or memorable at La Hacienda de Los Barrios. But the service was great and the atmosphere was magnificent. And since a child was in my party, the playground made the evening.

I just adore this patio. One of the best in San Antonio in my opinion. We drive out of our way to sit out there and enjoy the views, great Tex Mex and live music.
