Mama's Cafe is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. But let's talk about the food – their chicken fried steak is out of this world! Perfectly breaded and fried to golden perfection, each bite was like a symphony of flavors. And don't even get me started on the creamy gravy – it's like liquid gold. The portion size was generous, ensuring I left with a full and content belly. If you're looking for comfort food done right, Mama's Cafe is the place to be!

Smaller bar, but amazing cocktails! Definitely a big serving and the homemade meals are soooooo comforting. Parking is not the most fun and it's a quick turn but it's definitely worth texting this place out at least once!!

What a find! Everything I’ve had has been great - chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, potatoes, chef’s veggies, pancakes, cornbread, and eggs. Highly recommend Papa’s Breakfast if you like a sampler. All the compliments to their cooks. Servers are also top-notch. If you’re looking for home cooking in San Antone, look no further.

Mama's Cafe delivered a lunch experience that left us thoroughly satisfied. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with welcoming staff, set the stage for a delightful meal. Our server's recommendations hit the mark, and the chicken fried steak, despite a slightly heavy batter, proved to be a winner. The sides, made with fresh vegetables, added to the overall goodness. Once again a wonderful exsperiance here. Wife and i came in for an early dinner.
She had the Greek Salmon salad with no onions. And the waiter asked about allergies to be safe. Thank you very much for that, and i had the Pan seared Redfish. Food preperation and presentation was exquisite. For appetizers we had the mushrooms and the deep fried deviled eggs which were amazing. I drank an arnold palmer while my wife had lavender lemon drop.

The service was wonderful and very attentive. Our server (Hanley? I think) was very awesome and polite in his recommendations.

The cowboy dining room did fill up quickly. The regular dining area was not open yet which was fine.

Overall such a great dining experience
Will dine here again and again.

After visiting hospital we enjoyed juicy hot burger with Swiss and French fries and fried onions followed by a dessert. DOMINIQUE HERSELF did a excellent service ask for her😊rib and shrimp plate special you need to try ☕

Everything we ate definitely hit the spot. Our server was fantastic, and the entire staff was on the ball ... bringing out drinks and appetizers the moment they were ready.

Ordered pork chops & roasted chicken. Both came with 2 protein, mashed potatoes, sautéed veggies. Food was delicious. Tastes like home. Wait staff very attentive & kept drinks full. So full we didn’t have room for their delectable desserts this time.

As a Mexican I was not expecting this place to be so good, but it is, every recommendation from Melissa was excellent, excellent service and excellent food, definitely we’ll be back soon!

While staying with a family member recovering from surgery at NE Baptist Hospital, I checked out the reviews of some restaurants nearby. Mannnnnn, am I glad that we tried Mama’s Cafe!!!

I ordered it To go and it was ready very quickly, the bartender was efficient, and even thought to ask if we needed silverware!

The food was SPECTACULAR!!! We had the crispy chicken Caesar salad, the Salmon quinoa bowl, the jalapeño popper dip (GET THIS…if you think it sounds good, you won’t be disappointed when you taste it,) and the apple crisp!! The only negative was that the apple crisp would have been amazing, if it were warm.

I’ll definitely be back!!

Had not been here in several years, and the last time wasn’t so good. Atmosphere was the same but different, has the same vibe but cleaner. Food was a ton better than what it used to be. I had the pot roast and it was phenomenal. Will definitely be back again soon.

I went there for lunch and it was busy but we were seated right away. Our server was excellent and very attentive to all her tables. Our food was so flavorful and it was so much! I will definitely return. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Woah! I was so glad I checked this place out. Forget about ihop, Denny’s, move over Cracker Barrel, cause this place was great for breakfast. I can’t wait to try their lunch and dinner!!

This was our first time here and everything was so amazing. It was clean. The staff was amazing and food was even better. We cannot wait to come back.

I’d describe this restaurant as an elevated version of Cracker Barrel (complimentary). Loved their Chilaquiles Verdes! They’re a bit on the spicier side, which I enjoyed. The gluten-free blueberry pancake was also pretty delicious (substituted syrup for honey). The restaurant itself is cozy and has some subtle “instagram-y charm”. I’d say this restaurant is perfect for a Sunday brunch with a small group of friends.

The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We ate outdoors shaded by mature trees. Our server Pablo was fun and knowledgeable about the menu. He even customized my order since I couldn’t decide on two different plates. We will definitely be back for brunch!

First time here.
I had Papa's breakfast and my husband had Country Fried Steak.
Both steaks were juicy and flavorful. The gravy was to die for. Yum!
Dessert was homemade apple crisp, hot and yummy!

This restaurant has really good food, especially the cheeseburger! Fries are well cooked too. My wife loves the chicken fried steak, that's why we came for dinner.

The hosts were very nice but the waitress seemed bothered waiting on our table. She was still nice but not as friendly as I noticed the others were. We'd still go back though!
