Sushihana Japanese Restaurant

We were passing through after the eclipse and wanted sushi. This place is amazing! We've had sushi from California to Toronto and this is THE BEST we've ever had. Everything was fantastic! The asparagus fries are a must-have appetizer, and the rolls are all excellent. Desserts are equally amazing. If you're looking for sushi that is nothing short of incredible, then I wholeheartedly recommend Sushihana. If you miss this, you should really question your life choices!

Excellent food. Service is exceptional. Nice place. Will be back to try more. Pork chop was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Fried rice and crab cakes are excellent.

We've been to this place before and it was so delicious 😋. We chose this spot for Valentine's Day and we were not disappointed!!! Emma was our server and she was so kind and fun!! The food was so good especially the wagu plate, the pickled colliflower plate, tuna tartar, and the green tea rocky road ice cream ! Please 🙏 add these to the menu!!!

I love this place best and freshest sushi and sashimi. Stumbled on this place for lunch ended up booking for the Valentine’s Day 5 course meal it was great! I usually don’t like seafood but this changed my mind for sure. We will definitely keep coming here 10/10 for sure.

Stopped in to Sushihana at 11am on a Tuesday. My party of 2 was not the first people there, but, there were not a ton of others so we were seated right away near the area that can see the sushi being prepared. I was shocked to see three hostesses and at least 12 servers on hand waiting for guests, all in uniform and ready to go. It was the most staffed restaurant I've been in since before COVID.

We were provided the lunch menu, cocktail menu, and dinner menu as the lunch menu had limited appetizers but the full menu is available all day. We ended up with the Rock and Roll, the San Antonio, and the Tejas. The fish was well cut and flavorful, the tempura was crispy and perfect, and the overall flavor combos were great.

The San Antonio was my favorite for flavors, but the heat on the Tejas was outstanding. We also got gyoza as an appetizer and they were fried to perfection and drizzled with a spicy ponzu which was great.

Our server was insanely attentive, it was a 5 star service experience for sure. Definitely recommend this for lunch or a night out!

The service was amazing, my waitress was so kind. It was my first time eating sushi ever and she had some amazing recommendations. She was patient and just so sweet, there was a line where you could see the ingredients and a person behind me allowed me to sample some crab! They were so unbelievably kind and just great. The food was amazing, the paradise sushi was so good and their Japanese Spring Rolls were SO. FREAKING. GOOD. And the sauce that came with it was AMAZIIINNNGGG!!!!!!!! I almost wanted to drink it. They have a beautiful inside of the place and it smells so good! No doubt I will come here again.

Wow, what an amazing restaurant! The atmosphere, the food, the staff, definitely one of the best sushi restaurant I’ve been to in a long, long time. You can tell their chef has put a lot of time into curating the dishes. Our family ordered a bunch of different cuts of sashimi and nigiri and rolls, every piece was fresh and tasted great.

I’d be remiss to not mention the dessert. Fried banana and the chocolate lava cake, both so so good! We will definitely be returning next time we’re in town.

I have bragged about Sushihana before in a review, but I am going to brag again. Last night we enjoyed oysters there for the first time as an appetizer. They were so good. Half of the oysters had a little bit of grapefruit on top and the other half, hibiscus and a special salt. The flavors were just outstanding. For our entrees we had the Duncan roll, which was particularly superb last night, and the delicious salmon topped with crab. Both dishes were so good. It was a truly enjoyable experience. I can’t say enough great things about this restaurant and their staff. Alejandro has waited on us for years and he knows what we will order most times before we do. They also have a really good selection of wines, and ice cold beer, as well as sake and unique specialty drinks. San Antonio is lucky to have this restaurant!!

We come frequently and it’s always fantastic. Today we had the tuna caliente appetizer and it was amazing. Best place to come for fresh sushi and great service.

You can go dressed casual or fancy and it doesn’t matter because you are just going for great sushi! The staff was very friendly and can answer any questions you have about the menu. They accommodated my group of 8 with no problem (splitting checks / food modifications). It reminds me of Oishii - a classic Dallas sushi spot.

Anniversary dinner here is always amazing. Food,service and atmosphere are just outstanding. From the welcoming hostess to Sarah our server we are treated like no where else we've ever been. We've been to Japan and the food is authentic and professionally prepared. Our go-to restaurant for all occasions. Thank you Michael.

I LOVED this place. The quality of fish is incredible, it melts in your mouth.
The rolls are also fantastic .. I was really amazed by the high quality of products considering that it is hard to find high quality food in San Antonio.
I will come back for sure, and the staff was very friendly too.

Came here for a traditional Japanese New Year's meal. I didn't have reservations, but was able to get quickly seated since it was lunch time and not crowded. Note, they do close down after lunch and reopen again in the evening. Luckily, I came in early enough before they closed at 2p.

Ordered the tempura asparagus, tempura green beans, and tempura sweet potato, and asparagus fries as appetizers. Each came out within 10 minutes and were perfectly fried and crisped. For the meals, ordered the Beef Yakitori, Grilled Octopus, Negitorio Roll, Big Easy Roll, Dragon Roll, and Sushi Sashimi Combo. The orders came out as they were ready and were nicely plated. Fish was fresh and of good quality. There's not many options for good sushi in San Antonio, but this is definitely one of the better ones.

Fantastic food. This place has the best sushi and seafood in San Antonio. I would give them 10 stars. The appetizers were delicious, and the drink menu includes a good selection of cocktails and wine. The sushi menu includes a variety of fresh and delicious ocean treats. I had the sea bass, which was absolutely the best I have had. Extra delicate and delicious the fish was cooked perfectly and exceeded my expectations. The dessert was the banana roll and it was a table favorite. The staff is wonderful, and the owner takes great care in ensuring your dining experience is the best it can be. Don't wait, go eat there today, it's worth it.

We walked in and we were greeted by a super friendly lady. I made reservations, so we were seated right away. Our waiter Lucas was on top of everything and we have nothing to complain. The whole staff was amazing, the food delicious and I'm sure we will be back! 1 little tip, adding some butter and some more salt to the edamame would be amazing.

Excellent ambiance. The choices of sushi and rolls is great. We ordered the chefs dinner, fatty salmon roll, crab cakes- all were delicious. Seafood is fresh. I enjoyed my nice Christmas Margarita drink perfect for the season. Staff is very attentive, professional and knowledgeable. This is an upscale, sushi/ Japanese place perfect for any occasion.

We accidentally ended up here and it was the BEST accident :) Service is impeccable 👌 food is fresh and so good. I don't eat Sushi but my kids do amd they said it was the best. I recommend the hibachi ribeye dinner! Their salad is the best I've ever had. So glad it's close to home!

Sushi Haya is a fantastic choice for anyone who loves sushi and sashimi(there's other items on the all-you-can-eat menu but that what I come here for). The sashimi is a standout, with each slice perfectly cut to bring out the best flavors of the fish. They also offer a great variety of sushi rolls, from traditional favorites to unique creations. The atmosphere is welcoming, combining elements of traditional and modern Japanese decor. Plus, the staff are friendly and helpful, making each visit enjoyable. If you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine, Sushi Haya is definitely worth a visit!!!

Excellent place for Japanese food. Serves a wide variety of seafood, meats, poultry and salads. They also have a wide selection fine wines to go with your meal. I been coming here since 2002, and this place doesn't miss with high quality food and service. Recently remodeled, the restaurant has been expanded to accommodate more people , handle group dinners, and functions. I recommend this restaurant to friends that are visiting San Antonio.
