I live in Boerne and stop here to pick up lunch when I can. I recently had the smoked carne guisada and the tilapia. Amazing! The quality is always the best and the staff is so nice. Thankful to live so close to such a wonderful spot that supports veterans and the community.

Hidden gem with a great atmosphere and staff. Food looks and tastes phenomenal, portions are great, and it is ready so fast. I used to waste so many hours driving all the way to Kyle for smoked meat tacos. Now my gas money can buy more margaritas. Slowly trying every single menu item. Definitely my favorites so far are the smoked brisket and barbacoa tacos.

Look - I’ve been from El Paso to Brownsville and had pretty much every taco 🌮 along the way and these Birria babies take the 🏅. My family settled this town in the 1850s with a meat market and I’m proud to say that the tradition of amazing meat dishes has been carried forth. Secret pro tip : ask the owner about the monumental painting on the back wall. It’s worth a trip to Compadres even if just for the mural. 🫡🪖🌮

Chef Mark, his wife and staff were so welcoming from the time we walked in to Compadres until the time we left! Food was on point and absolutely delicious. The food portions are beyond generous. We ate until we were stuffed and still had leftovers! Will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious! We were lucky enough to get there soon enough to order. Everything we wanted was available. There was a ton of meat on everything we ordered too. Highly recommend and definitely get there early. The pulled pork tacos with the raspberry chipotle sauce was my favorite!

Me and my wife had the Smoked Barbacoa and the Annie Bowl and both were absolutely amazingly delicious!! The best Barbacoa I have ever had hands down!! Absolutely delicious!! The salsa is amazing, the beans are amazing, the rice.. the rice was the best rice of any kind I’ve ever had Chef!! For real legit!! Let the haters hate! Keep doing what you do!! Highly recommend!!

Wife and I finally made it to Beorne from San Antonio just to try this place out. Compadres did not disappoint! I ordered the special of the day... Brisket Enchiladas! The wife had some Brisket Birria-Dillas... absolutely outstanding! You taste the smoke in every bite, but it's not overwhelming. The staff was great and the decor is awesome. If you love Texas are a Patriot or are a Veteran, this place is for you. Hell even the other patrons were super friendly. Service was quick as well! Will definitely be making several more return trips! Got to meet the owner also, very cool dude for sure. Semper Fi!

Finally got to make it out here to Compadres Hill Country Cocina from Austin. This place is The Bomb. The Birria Tacos, The Birria-Dillas, and the Queso is so Amazing. The Service here is Top Notch. We will return back. Omg The Fajitas are so tender and taste like back yard bbq. The flavor of the food words are speechless. Eating here and we was ready to start dancing. We love this place. Great place in Boerne. Food was sooo good! You order as you walk in, seat yourself and food is delivered to you. We had chicken and beef tacos-sorry dug right in and forgot to get better photos. Large portions-had so take some to go.

Everything here was just amazing! The staff was very nice, the food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was fun! Veteran friendly as well! A cool hidden gem of a place with good food in Boerne.

This place is legit bomb good! Everything we've had so far has been absolutely delicious! My favorite regular menu items are the Birria Tacos and the El Jefe Enchiladas. My favorite special hands down, the Smoked Prime Rib Carne Guisada. My daughter enjoyed her Goldburger with pulled pork special the other day too. Hats of to Chef Mark and his lovely wife, she was a delight this past week when we were in.

OMG this place is amazing! The owners and staff are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. On top of all that the food is incredible. My husband had the George Strait tacos and I had the Beef Quesadillas with beans and rice and it was soooooo good. Oh did I mention the beer was free.

First, I love that it is veteran owned. The owner is down to earth and the service and food here are absolutely exceptional, surpassing all expectations. The attentive staff go above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience, while the amazing dishes tantalize the taste buds with their exquisite flavors. This place is a true culinary gem, leaving people with a lasting impression of sheer satisfaction. Looking forward to visiting again.

I’ll have to remember to snap pictures next time, but it was so delicious everyone gobbled it all up before I could! We ordered to go because they were super busy, but the service was great and my order was ready quickly and was just as ordered. This is the second time I’m ordered from them and been impressed both times. Definitely a must try in Boerne!!!! If you haven’t been go check it out! Thanks for the great food and service you guys!

Finally I was able to make it to Compadres Hill Country Cocina. I had the compadre nachos with beef fajitas and tacos al carbon also beef fajita. They were soooo good. Great place, friendly staff and very clean place. BTW the music was kicking but not too loud. If you ever find yourself in Boerne, TX, stop by for some great food.

I can’t believe it took me so long to try out Compadres Hill Country Cocina. I’ve heard for a while how great it is and now I know why. I had The Whole Enchilada and it was wonderful! It was huge! Wonderful restaurant with the friendliest staff. The interior is nicely decorated and a wonderful tribute to our Military. They also offer a Military Discount. I will definitely be back and will highly recommend to my friends.

First time here and let me tell you my Compadre hit a Grand Slam. Everything was perfect from the mollejas, macaroni enchilada casserole, rice, beans, smoked carne guisada but most importantly the VIBE! I'm originally from Corpus but haven't really been there since pretty much all my uncle's have passed away. They were the one's that would BBQ for me when i would go visit because they knew how to get down! It's been more than 15 yr's that i haven't really been able to enjoy BBQ because of them being gone but today all that changed the minute i stepped into that time capsule. I felt like i was young again with my uncles just hanging out laughing and drinking some cold one's while they BBQ'd. Come support this Veteran owned and operated restaurant. Veteran owned and veteran friendly along with seriously good food. Raspberry chipotle pulled pork tacos were delicious. The torta comes with a great sauce. I’ll be back to try everything.

This is my go to BBQ place when I’m not cooking myself, it’s great BBQ and the owners will go out of their way to make you happy and laugh while enjoying your meal. They close at 2pm unless they sell out of food earlier so you take a chance of not getting any delicious BBQ if you arrive after 1pm, it’s a good idea to give them a call before heading there close too closing time so they can tell you if they have enough food for your visit.
