I love the vibe at the Co-op. 30 years later, and it still feels the same.
Although I'm not a member, I've shopped there for years. Always for 1 or 2 specific items that I can not find elsewhere. Currently, I shop there for cornmeal. They have the best!

My Happiest Place. 'Staples' like paper products are less costly and Kitchen Prepared food, grains, seems all healthy... especially when Staff Made Mine..
Thank you so

This place is so amazing. A bit pricey, but worth it for such fresh and tasty products. Staff is very kind and helpful

I've been coming here for decades when I travel up to A2 for the day. It's always a welcoming atmosphere and the store is in great shape. I loooooove the amount of local/regional products. The locally produced tofu and tempeh is just fantastic.
They are also to see if they can custom order a product for you.
I always look forward to visiting the People's Food Co-op!

Cooperative (member-owned and democratically run) and long-established local food store, lunch bar, grab-and-go take-out, and cafe, open to the public. Special benefits, participation opportunities, and discounts for member-owners (for a nominal, fully refundable, one-time initial investment.)

All-natural products, emphasizing local, organic , sustainable, minimally packaged and some bulk, and mostly plant-derived products, although they also have good dairy and cheese products, eggs, and some meats, and fish.

Various supplements and personal care products, and common household products, as well.

They have what I am looking for---fresh bulk spices and other vegetarian foods. Laid-back atmosphere, music is fun, not too loud.

Lots of appealing vegetarian and vegan options for lunch, including locally made snacks! The organic produce looked good too.

I lived around Kerry town and this is always the placebo for nice grocery and equal traded coffee.

A nice simple store with the important things and none of the junk so many stores have! Natural, organic, diy things to make the best for your family. I don’t go often because of the parking but I still appreciate that it exists.

This car care facility is excellent. The wash was excellent. The vacuums are very powerful, the rug mat washer is great, and right now they have an awesome
special for car washes.

Love the PFC! My husband swears the salad bar is the freshest and best in town. Our daughters beg for PFC chicken from the hot bar anytime we are anywhere near the Food Coop. They have hands down the largest selection of locally sourced produce, grocery items, and any other items of any grocery store in AA. I've worked at a number of them, including the PFC, and PFC has the biggest commitment to the community food network. Also, they have very high standards for what they will sell. The produce is always high quality, fresh, never withered and moldy (as I have found at some other local grocery stores). Also have great food on the grab and go deli, very good all allergen free chocolate cake, and great coffee. Our family just loves this store. There was a period where there seemed to be a lot of not so friendly cashiers and staff - but it seems to have gotten much better in the last year or two and the quality of customer service has gone back up. Wish it were bigger with better parking - would make it much easier to shop there with little kids. But we still make the effort to get there every week or two.

Beautiful facility with tons of character and everything you could want for a healthy lifestyle. The vegan deli options were amazing. I had the pleasure of meeting several employees and was impressed with the care that was shown. Bonus is it's located right down from the farmers market so you can hit kerrytown and the co-op back to back. They also have an option where you can have your groceries brought out to your car after purchase which is great because parking is at a premium over there.

A well curated selection of healthy foods at reasonable prices. Hope the hot bar reopens soon! Found best time to come is Sunday or evenings to take advantage of convenient free parking across the street in County parking lot.

There's a few bad reviews on what goes on inside the kitchen, but whatever comes out of that kitchen is, well, amazing. Prices are cheaper than other downtown restaurant sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. and better quality. It's essentially a little market & grocery store co-op. Being a member of the co-op is optional and saves a little bit of $ but honestly the prices are still really good for downtown A2. Typically, if I'm anywhere downtown near main st., I'll walk there and grab cheaper fresh and filling bite to eat. If I lived downtown, I'd probably shop there on the regular.

They are fun honest hard working friends, who provide fresh foods for everyone, I'm hopeful they lower the beet price by 25¢ per beet sometime in the future, as I've learned I can purchase 8 bananas on their spotted banana price policy for the same price as one beet, but I'm a beginner vegetable person. One would think a spotted banana would be worth more

Lovely service. Had the hot bar Sunday am & the frittata was so delicious! Coffee was so delicious. Used a card & couldn't leave a tip but I was really happy with the service & self serve amenities. Definitely will be back.

Great place. Good place to shop. Everything is great except the saffron. The saffron here is very low quality at extremely high price of $20 per gram. I would gladly pay even more, even $30 per gram for authentic, pure Persian (Iranian) Saffron, but not for a very low quality saffron that has a lot of yellow threads too. In fact, these yellow threads are "safflower," for coloring, not saffron. Safflower dries saffron threads and absorbs its aroma. The end result: a saffron look-alike with poor taste and no aroma. The same with the saffron sold in Zingerman's. These are all adulterated saffron. Saffron has to be only BRIGHT red AND smell strong too. High-quality saffron leaves its strong mark on the palette and the brain. No kidding. THAT is what I'm looking for!
Please bring in quality saffron. Thanks.

The Ann Arbor Food Coop should not only be visited and shopped, it should be studied, documented and duplicated across the country. How do I begin to sing the praises of Cafe Verde and the Food Coop connected next door by a big doorway? First, did I really see a ready to eat half quiche for sale in the hot and cold bar department. Second, people are free to be authentic inside the store, so the diversity is as cool as the store. Heck, I'm having a cup of hot Justice, beans grown sustainably and justly and locally roasted. Third, the staff has a high hip factor. I ordered my croissant as such, "I'll have the classic French croissant, shaped like a half moon with two pointy horns". She shot back with the sincerest snark, "That's my favorite description of a croissant so far"! Okay, so I like a touch of community when I purchase food. And that showed up today. This place makes me feel optimistic about the present and the future. I would love to cook my daily meals from ingredients from here. Probably the only food coop that does community groceries better would be Oryana up in Traverse City.
