Mama Coco Cantina

This place has been on my list for a long time. I was excited to finally get to stop and try it out. When I walked in, I was amazed at the atmosphere and how well decorated this location is we were greeted by a warm and welcoming staff member who took us to our table and promptly asked for our drink order, the chips and salsa were brought out which I must add. The salsa was delicious, but perhaps needed just a little salt since there was no salt or pepper on the table speaking of things on the table this restaurant offers a bottle of hand sanitizer which I noticed was at every table. I thought that was a very unique gesture, which are utilized. We ordered steak fajitas and a picture of lime margaritas on the rocks. Both came out quickly. The margaritas were delicious and the steak fajitas were extraordinary. They even came with a sauce or juice like substance that I gladly poured over my fajitas which only increased the taste and juiciness, the staff continue to check on us throughout our visit making sure that we had everything we needed. I found this to be a wonderful experience and so glad that I finally had an opportunity to stop. We were informed that there’s already a location in Birmingham and another location that will be open soon in Pelham. I look forward to the day when we can return and have another wonderful meal. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is in the area looking for authentic Mexican cuisine.

We went after a friend recommended it. It is unassuming from the outside but the food was impressive. There was a good variety, including a vegetarian menu

My wife and I first started eating at Mama Cocos Cantina in January of '21 and eighteen months later we keep going back. This place has become one of our favorite places to eat and there's more reasons than I can list as to why.

But I will mention a few highlights: great food, great service, awesome atmosphere and an overwhelming list of choices on their menu that are all outstanding 👌. A few personal favorites are the Mexican Spaghetti, the Street Tacos, the Grande Burrito and the Mama's Dip as an appetizer.

As long as Mama Cocos Cantina is still around, I know that great food is just a short drive away (we live in Columbiana). We are huge fans!!!

This is a WONDERFUL new take for EXCELLENT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD!
BUT we also ADORED THE SIMPLE BEAUTIFUL ARTWORK & STYLE OF THIS VERY COMFORTABLE RESTAURANT!!

WE ARE FROM Houston, TX & are just passing thru the area... But we were thrilled to find Mexican food that was not TEX-MEX.... but was FANTASTIC!! We enjoyed the street tacos & the Tortilla Soup was HEARTY & FILLING... BROTH WAS OUTSTANDING

If u are ever near Calera, Alabama & DONT take the opportunity to check this restaurant out, then all I can say is:
"BLESS YOUR HEART ❤!!! LOL

Best Mexican food in town! It's so flavorful, and doesn't taste like every other Mexican restaurant. Great ambiance, customer service, and fast service. A++ Highly recommend the Chile San Pedro!

I am not really a fan of Mexican food. But their tacos, sausage soup, and rice are truly delicious! Their chips and salsa taste great too. Definitely recommend this place to anyone!

I like this restaurant because it makes you feel like you are in the city and not a little town like Calera (don’t get me wrong, I love my town). The food is good, so are the drinks. Their service is great as well. I highly recommend

We visited for the first time tonight. The atmosphere was amazing, the food was amazing, the margaritas were amazing and the service was amazing. Ulic was our waiter and suggested the Mexican Dip and it did not disappoint. I could have eaten it for my meal it was so good. I ordered the Mexican Spaghetti and it is in my top 5 favorite dishes of all time. SO GOOD. My husband got the Carnitas and they were very good as well. Absolutely will be our new "go to" spot.

This place never disappoints. The steak is always perfectly cooked. I love everything about this restaurant from the drinks to the perfectly decorated walls.

What a pleasant surprise. We'd heard good things about Mama Coco's from friends and decided to try it out.

Trust me, the inside dining atmosphere was the opposite of the outside, which is a pot hole ridden trashy mini strip.

Very good food, surprising pleasing presentation and absolutely excellent service. My sweetie ordered the shrimp quesadilla. It was to large and bulky to pick up, but she loved it!

Decided to see what all the HIPE was about the new Mexican restaurant, Mama CoCo's in Calera, was all about today for lunch and WOW!! Now I can see why everyone's raving over it!!! The food was outstanding!!! I had the Flaming Cheese Fajitas and oh my GOSH IT WAS AMAZING!!! Wait until you see the picture of it...it was huge!!! Big enough for 3 people and this was lunch!! The chips & dip were very good along with the cheese dip. The service was excellent! Staff was friendly & the restaurant was super clean! The lady we talked to said they've been opened a month or so and they're already planning on expanding the restaurant by knocking out the wall and their area! So business is good, Food is GREAT!! CHECK THEM OUT!!

The food was delicious and the service was good. I had the fundido burrito with rice and beans. but what really sold me was their homemade house hot sauce! The red sauce was good but the orange sauce was unbelievable. Habanero based and actually pretty dang hot. I will definitely be going back to Mama Coco’s for lunch!

Fun place. Great food and accommodating staff. Amy, our server and bartender, was polite and provided great recommendations. We had the birre tacos and ground beef burrito with enchilada. Highly recommend. We have already talked about going back!!
