Washington Square Diner

By far, one of the best diners in NYC!! Diners are not a place to order pasta and expect it to be good but I think this place is an exception. I ordered penne alla vodka and it was on par with a good Italian restaurant. Unbelievable! I married into an Italian family so I know my pastas. They are a bit pricey but for the amount of food you get, it's justified! We got the leftovers to go. Definitely going to come back here again to try other items on the menu. Also, one of fastest service that I have seen! A big thumbs up to them!!

Visted NY for the day and stopped in for a bite to eat. I have to say starting from the pleasant staff to the very clean dinning area and the HUGE menu. I highly recommend Washington square diner. The food was hot and fresh!

This is a classic American restaurant. I liked it very much. It was cheap, burgers were huge and pretty good. They have a large menu with a lot of options for a reasonable price. The staff were really nice. If you’re looking for a healthy meal or a fancier place you might want to stop at somewhere else. But if your ok with some sandwich, burger, or else you’re going to enjoy this place. I had dinner but I believe it’s much better to have breakfast/brunch.

An old school dinner serving up amazing breakfast and a nice brunch deal. Whenever I’m craving some park cakes, this is my go to spot in the city. It’s near my place and I can always find a seat. Service can be a little busy on weekends but worth the wait. They have the best bacon and eggs and make a pretty good omelet too. The portions are massive.

Stopped in for breakfast and everything was so good! The whole grain pancakes with apple compot were delicious and the bacon was cooked perfectly. The breakfast sandwich with 7 grain bread was very filling and went really well with the potatoes and asparagus

Quick,clean, kind! I loved how welcoming the staff was . My ph was dead so I couldn't take photos . Fresh matzah ball soup was the most amazing soup. They make a variety of homemade soups it was perfect to warm me up.

Servers are kind, sweet and great!! It made the experience even better. The food was good, no one pushing you to finish up your food and leave, yet kept a check on customers that they were enjoying their time. Nice to see a diner in this part of the area. Will go again!

Perfect diner experience, large portions, quick service, attentive staff. Hot coffee always on the way. Would recommend and love to come back again.

Stopped in for Breakfast. Fantastic staff. Fantastic food and service. A diner worth visiting if you’re not from the US and you want that authentic diner experience. Such a great menu also. All the favorites are there. Pancakes were exceptional. They’ll also put chocolate chips and blue berrys in them. Breakfast Sausage was the best i’ve had in the US. Best thing is they’re fast. Waiter was a top man and knew his stuff!

It's always great going back to tgis place. I spent alot of time eating here while attending NYU.
Service is always great and food s amazing. Clean and affordable. I've returned several times with different generations of my family, daughters and granddaughter , and yesterday with business associates. We had an excellent time and meeting.

Their paninis are SO good. I ordered the chipotle chicken panini and it changed my life. also the portions were HUGE so i have a ton of fries and half a sandwich to go home

As a Kid from Brooklyn (all grown up at 53), there's a special nostalgia when eating at an authentic NYC diner.
I love Family owned businesses, and diner coffee is always so good.
Try the French Toast, eggs and beef sausages for breakfast! 😋❤🙏🏾

Its pricey but portions are huge. The two of us tried to share one triple decker, one cup soup of the day (matzo) and a side of onion rings... ended up taking the onion rings home.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and everyone working there is amazing.
We also tried their iced coffee which was great. Tried to leave a good tip. Hopefully it was enough! Will try to return next time im in nyc

We’ve been here twice and on two separate trips to the city. Both visit were great. Seated fast. Staff was helpful. The food was good and reasonably priced. Will be back again on our next trip. Good Job!

We stopped by on our 4th day out of 8 in NYC. Homesick, tired, hungry, we decided to visit Washington Square Park on a last minute whim. We were walking by this diner and it looked like home! We weren’t wrong. This little diner gave us the homestyle food we were craving, waiters who looked familiar, and cured our homesick woes. The service was impeccable! Our waiter asked us if we wanted dessert, but I told him I was waiting for my sister, because she wanted chocolate cake but was busy washing her hands. They had two choices! When she came back to our table, he asked her which chocolate cake she wanted…! When I think of our NYC trip, I thank this little diner for allowing us to make it through the rest of our trip! 🥰

Amazing food for an amazing price! <$20 each despite huge portions. I ordered a deluxe patty melt and it was probably one of the best meals I've had so far in 2023. The waiters were attentive and my fries were crispy despite being thick-cut. My friend got an omelette that she loved. We went at 10 pm and it was busy but the service wasn't slow. Perfect for 2 starving college students after a full day of studying.

I love this place. You get a decent amount of food for a reasonable price - and the food is good here!! Tonight I had scrambled eggs, home fries, sausages, and toast with coffee.

It was nice to grab a bite after a show tonight just a few blocks from here.

Our eggs came hot! LOVED the hashbrowns! Pork sausage had the perfect "crisp" and tasted Delicious! Wish I could come more often

It's a little pricey, but that can't be helped anywhere in Manhattan, I think. The service was very friendly, the waiter really cared about taking care of us. Portions were a bit smaller than most diners, but still very tasty, and the location is great, right in the center of the neighborhood.
