Under the Ground BloNo

Great place for vegan food in the Normal Bloomington area! They have a beautiful ambiance with plenty of plants. We ordered a Philly sandwich and cauliflower rice bowl with a side of pasta and potato wedges. Each item was well made and delicious!

The restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicious! The place is full of plants which makes it feel magical. Husband and I went this morning and both got the vegetarian breakfast burrito, he got the salsa and I got the green breakfast sauce, the potato to egg and *sausage* ratio was perfect! The potato's stayed crisp giving the burrito a perfect texture. The green sauce is creamy and dilly. The salsa is a kick of freshness and acid that makes each bite lovely. We got a couple buffalo *chicken* salads for dinner tomorrow night. They came highly recommend and can't wait to dig in!

How had I never been to this hidden gem?! I was so impressed by the quality of food here. I could hardly tell that the salami on the grilled cheese was meatless. It was super tasty.

And the environment was beautiful! The downstairs area was so cozy, and you can tell how much work the staff put into creating a lively space.

Service was fast and the staff is friendly. They also are very COVID conscious and pride themselves on having a clean and safe restaurant! The burger was delicious! My partner had the Large Marge and he loved it (he's not a vegetarian). We plan to visit again! My only recommendation is that they make their wedges a little more crispy. The wedges appeared to be well baked on the outside but were a little softer than I prefer.

We tried to find a place for brunch at a Saturday morning. All the places are closed! But finally we found this place, it’s a vegetarian cafe! We are not vegan, but we love this place. I had a vegetarian bagel and it was delicious! The vegan cheese is cheesy and yummy. The beyond meat was delicious as well. My husband enjoyed his biscuit and gravy. He said it tasted better than the most of the other biscuits & gravy. We had a good time at our vegetarian brunch!

Outta this world! Went here for dinner, and IT WAS AMAAZING! My boyfriend and I split the Philly, the Lobstah, the Bacon Mac & Cheese, and a Pumpkin Bar. The Philly and the Bacon Mac were definitely my favorites! The Philly tasted just like how I remember the meat counterpart did, and the bacon in the mac tasted like a combo of bacon and ham. It really reminded me of velveeta shells and cheese. So so so good! The Pumpkin Bar was heavenly too! An awesome hidden gem that I just discovered! Highly recommend! 10/10!👌 They are mainly vegan, with just a few vegetarian things. You can make anything vegan I think if it's not already. Love the location too! Very unique!

UTG Blono is delicious and has such a cute dine in vibe! I eat meat but have been looking to incorporate more plant based meals into my diet. UTG did not disappoint! I’ve tried the veggie BLT pasta salad, the vegan Mac and cheese, the beyond burgers, oven baked potato wedges and the salami pickle sandwich and it was all amazing! I want to try their weekend breakfast as well! This place is also cute for date night, a lunch meet up, or just a quick meal if you on a break for work. There are pretty plants everywhere in the restaurant! Such a cute vibe. Definitely check it out, you will not be disappointed!

Their vegan options were incredible! I also loved all of the plants and underground seating area. We had the vegan lobstuh, philly, and bacon Mac and cheese.

I have been vegan for 6 years and I've lived in many different places including Southern California where there is a ton of vegan resturants, and I've tried many places. I can say with ease that this is one of the best places I've eaten at. The service at this resturant is easily the best and it is not even close. Each meal comes out with beautiful preparation, and you can tell a lot of care was put into each meal. Everything about the service of Under the Ground is enough to keep you coming back. The food veganizes classic dishes in a way that is interesting and delicious. I highly recommend vegans and nonvegans to try out this place as it is rare to come across such a gem in a small town like this.

under the ground is awesome!! my partner and i are both lactose intolerant and they are vegetarian and there’s sooo many option for us here! I had the vintage smash and it was one of the best vegan burgers i’ve ever had! my only critique is that they have raised my expectations too high for other restaurants lol! the potato wedges are the best

Best Mac and cheese I’ve had, can’t even tell it’s vegan (I’m not vegan). Try the taco Mac, the sauce is amazing. The seating atmosphere is calming and decorative.

I had the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and it was great, a bit spicy which is how I like it. It was my first vegan meal and I really enjoyed it.

This is some of the best food I’ve ever had, and I’m not even vegetarian. The big smash salad is to die for. The way they season their beyond meat is so good! And the smash sauce?! Come on! Delicious. The word on the street is you won’t miss the meat is so true.

Everything we've tried has been delicious. The grab and go fridge is super convenient when you need something quick. The food is great even if you're not usually vegan/vegetarian.

This place is EVERYTHING. Great staff. Amazing environment 🪴 🌱 full of plants!

I went to UTG with my daughters because one of my daughters wanted to try it! I am not vegan or vegetarian and wasn’t thinking I would like it! My daughters had the mushroom
Melt and loved it! I had Large Marge which was a veggie burger with mushroom, onion and cheese on toasted sour dough bread (you have you choice of cheese… I chose dairy cheese)! I was very pleasantly surprised! I totally loved it and it was very filling! I definitely will go back and I highly recommend you try it!

My favorite spot in town. Inviting, brick walled atmosphere, and the food is delicious. I make sure to stop by every week! And as a vegan, it's amazing to look at a menu and be able to choose from a wide variety of options, each more tasty than the last.

If you are vegetarian/vegan and have not stopped by, you are doing yourself a disservice. Always very clean, and environmentally conscious to boot. I have trouble justifying going anywhere else. Their California Club sandwhich is one of my favorites!

Food was great. I love the atmosphere of the place, and the staff are very friendly. I would certainly say this is the best veg/vegan food in town. I highly recommend their breakfast burritos! I found the quality and portions are certainly worth the price. This isn't just food, this is quality fuel for your body!

We were passing through town and decided to give this place a try. I've been a vegetarian for almost a decade and this place by far has the best buffalo "chicken" I've ever had! My husband loved his tofu Banh Mi sandwich as well. The prices might be slightly more than what you pay elsewhere but you truly get your money's worth with the fresh, quality ingredients. Customer service was great too!
