We just had our wedding at Maxson’s & we absolutely loved how open and easy the staff was to work with! We had our ceremony out on the deck & our rehearsal in the banquet hall. Both areas were absolutely stunning! We had a Saturday wedding & we were able to go in as early as Thursday and set stuff up (since the hall wasn’t being used) which was a huge stress relief for me! They let us be creative in our own ways for decorations, desserts, food menu & bar! They served us family style and we had plenty of food to go around & it was all delicious with great prices! Staff was there to assist us in anyways we needed while we set up, cleaned up and just about anything we needed or wanted they were more than happy to help us. I 1000/10 recommend Maxson for your wedding or other small event! We had around 80 people and the banquet hall was perfect for that size! With plenty of extra room for dessert, card tables and dancing! For weddings the whole area outside Maxson’s has great places for the photographer’s to take pictures with different scenic views! We got photos on the boat, on the deck, nature views and even a pretty field out front. The banquet hall with the wooden walls, lots of mirrors is also absolutely gorgeous with great lighting that doubled as a room for us girls to get ready in! Definitely will be coming back to Maxson’s for events in the future & the dinner cruises make for a great anniversary dinner 😉

Just had our daughters wedding there on the boat than reception in the restaurant. Food was amazing, staff was so friendly and easy to work with and very affordable. We will definitely be having all our events with them.

I'm a real big fan of everything they're doing here. I dont know why they were empty on a Saturday night but they don't deserve to be. Excellent service. Solid menu with plenty of options. Some interesting finds like cheese curds with orange horseradish sauce. Lotta nice things going on here. Worth a try if it's been a while...

What an experience! A great find on the Rock River. I had squash ravioli with a huge portobello mushroom (vegetarian dish) which was superb. Our table overlooked the river. Our server was fantastic!! I can't believe I've never been here before. But I will be again!

Just had Easter buffet and was delicious. Had great food with lots of choices. Roast beef was so tender, chicken with cheese on delicious, so many choices for potatoes and so many different desserts. How can you decide which one or two to have. Service was friendly and great. They also gave our two little granddaughters an Easter bag. Thank you we all enjoyed!

Good food. Great service and atmosphere. Coming back in the fall for a dinner cruise. Staff and owners super sweet and friendly.

An exceptional dining experience. We ate on the lovely deck right next to the Rock River with a view of gorgeous autumn-tinted trees and the majestic Blackhawk statue. The food was delicious! In fact, my husband commented that the clam chowder was the best he had ever tasted. And the prices were very reasonable. Can hardly wait for our next visit.

Had my first experience on the Riverboat last Saturday for my third year wedding anniversary with my husband. Let's just say it was a total blast and I very much enjoyed myself. Very cheap pricing and I was definitely surprise with how cheap it actually was. We had a very great lunch and dessert for two, and the cost was only $77.00! We will definitely be back plenty more times and even possibly this weekend!

Best prime rib I have had in a long time.

We were invited by friends on a motorcycle ride and a paddle wheel boat lunch cruise. The food was very tasty including dessert. The entire staff treated us wonderfully. We learned allot about the history of the boat. Great time, very relaxing way to spend a couple hours with friends.

Not only the view outside the restaurant was wonderful, the inside was beautiful, and the staff was very attentive. They made sure we were satisfied with food and service. Food was excellent, and I only ordered from the lunch menu! Oh yes order the chicken pot pie soup it was superb! I cant wait to see what the dinner menu is like too. I recommend you try it for yourself!

Great place, great food, and great people. We live in Tinley Park and try to go at least once a year. We just had our wedding there and the people couldn't be more helpful. They even provided a wedding officiant that did an outstanding job. I recommend this place to all my friends and family. I only wish I lived closer so we could go more often.

Just went to Maxon's for a women's Chirstmas party. We were served a three meat buffet that was excellent. The fried chicken was moist, the roast beef was fall apart tender, and the sweet and sour pork was good. We also had mashed potatoes and gravy and 3 kinds of soups. The mushroom soup was really good! All this plus a large salad bar and sweet roll for a light dessert. I'd like to try this place on a Saturday night. It was really nice. And the two men serving us were absolutely wonderful! So kind and attentive to all our needs.

Beautiful setting overlooking the Rock River. Welcoming service and great food. I had the fall off the bone tender tasty ribs and they were delicious! My dinner came with soup and salad bar that included a nice selection of lettuce, a few toppings, slaw, potato salad, and pickled beets, my favorite! Go light on the salad though because even at half a slab it was too much to eat. The fries were great, crispy outside and tender inside. The grilled veggies were tasty. I will return!

First time I took my family to the pattle boat due to my wife's birthday. The service was amazing!! Thanks to the gentleman and the lady who assist us they were great. I will for sure recommend this to everyone. I don't understand how some people who gave them 1 or 2 stars are really rude, grow up for God sake.

Found this gem just by chance I intended to go to the steak house just across the parking lot but they were closed. It was very late afternoon and I think their lunch buffet was technically closed as we were the only ones there. The hostess maybe manager found the buffet was still up and seated us. Now most places wouldn't do that and if they did would have rushed you out. NOT HERE, they couldn't be more gracious and attentive. Our glasses were never empty and as soon as a plate was cleaned it was removed and we were invited to go back for more. All this and an exceptional value to boot.
They have a paddle wheel boat to cruise the river but we didn't have time to enjoy it.

I have stayed at the Paddlewheel Inn a few times and enjoy eating at Maxson's restaurant. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and and attentive and go out of their way to make you feel at home. They have a good selection of food choices which I enjoy. Also the portions are large.

The food was great! We waited a bit for it, but since we were one of only 3 or 4 tables I'm sure they weren't making anything until it was ordered, and my pork chop probably took some time! Kind of expensive, though I don't think it was overpriced (my pork chop was $19, but it was pretty big and juicy). They do have burgers for $9. Super nice place, from our experience I think it should have more business! Great to have a nicer place in the area. Definitely recommend!
