I just want to give a shout out to Hunter at the drum shop. I’m not much of a drummer, however I needed a decent sounding kit for song writing and a bit of recording. Hunter was super friendly and informative and very patient with me. He helped me pick out just the right kit and accessories. I could not be happier with the service Hunter provided and the amazing selection that this establishment offers. I would recommend The Drum Shop to anyone at any level of playing. Best drum shop currently in existence. Over the past 50 plus years of drumming, I’ve done business with many drum shops, some owned by friends. Those went away with the advent of big box music stores. THIS IS THE PLACE if you want great selection, knowledgeable and friendly owner and staff who treat you like you pay their salary and just great service. Plus, if you wanna play before you pay, this IS the place. Thanks to Josh, Aaron, Hunter, Chris and everyone else who treats me as a valued customer.

I can't say as many great things about Drum Shop Maine as I'd like to due to space limitations, but just let me say that this store is THE place for drums, percussion, and everything related. The entire staff is professional, knowledgeable, and just downright good folks. I try to stop in at least twice a week just to see what interesting used cymbals have come in and I'm rarely disappointed. Chris, the owner, is the man, and Josh, the cymbal whisperer, knows more about cymbals than most people acquire during a lifetime of experience. The rest of the staff are a swell bunch of guys as well. Don't shop the big box stores for drums, cymbals, and percussion. These guys are THE BOMB so shop local!

Very helpful. They give you their own experiences with the items they have. Even when a brand they didn't like would give them a better profit. They will let you try anything they have in stock.

I walked in and they set me up with an incredible kit that came in under budget. I had a really good time shopping there the staff is fantastic. I have shopped at Portland percussion and others and have never been made to feel welcome. These guys set the bar for customer service and interaction.

I got a new DW 9500 series hi-hat stand for cheaper than anywhere else I could find, and the shipping was super fast. I didn't get tracking info, but was super impressed with how fast they delivered and the price saved me cash. Customer service was great too. This store made it into my favorites with one transaction. Highly recommended.

The staff are helpful and friendly, and they helped me make a well-informed purchase. They offer a good variety of drums, hardware, and accessories. I would definitely go back, and I will recommend them to my friends.

I spoke with Chris moments ago. He was polite, receptive, and actually listened to my questions and cared about how he thoughtfully answered them. He spent time talking to me in-depth about the topic, educating me so I could make informed decisions, and never once acted too busy or rushed. I live some distance away, but I assure those of your reading this he made my experience sufficiently positive, and I will absolutely visit the store and make a purchase. More than anything, he was the antithesis of the ‘too-cool-to-bother-with-you’ vibe experienced by so many at a particular large conglomerate.For this reason, I trust Chris’ knowledge and obvious experience, and he is certainly an asset to this business.
