Black Rock Bar & Grill

I had previously patronized a different Black Rock Grill and had the excellent volcanic shrimp tacos, and before I knew about the 755-degree cooking stones. This time, I ordered the “Super Duo,” an 8oz fillet medallion paired with the signature bubbling shrimp. The entree came with a choice of two sides. I chose a loaded baked potato and a garden salad.

The bartender/server, Benjamin, was very helpful in describing how to cook the steak and said the stone maintains its heat for 30-40 minutes. The medallions and shrimp were fantastic(maybe because I cooked them myself.)

Booth, bar, and outdoor flat-top seating. It has a classy atmosphere with cloth napkins and steak knives.
Great service. I would highly recommend it.

cooking stones are handmade by Italian artisans from the volcanic rock of Mount Etna. The stones are crafted to the optimal thickness in order to retain heat, meaning that your food will stay hot for longer and every bite will be just as hot as the last

Super nice date night! The cook your own steak option was delicious. Probably not the most kid friendly, because yeah a 755 degree rock is on your dining table. Our waitress was very kind and showed us how to cook the food.

The main courses are more filling than you'd think and come with a free soup/salad and side.

In town for an appointment and found this place on Maps. It was everything we had hoped it would be. Started with the fried mozzarella medallions. They were just ok. The main event was being able to cook your protein on a 775 degree flat rock from Australia. I had the tour of Black Rock and my wife had the filet. Even the baked potato was perfect. Being able to cook our food right at the table was awesome. The server was great. I cannot wait to come back. I heard there was one of these in Grand Rapids. I am sure we will try it out.

Absolutely love this place. Me and my wife visit anytime we are in Michigan. The food is amazing and so is the service. I always go for the black rock sirloin. Makes for a fun experience. So if you're in the area give this place a try.

Our lunch consisted of a hamburger, fries, soup three ways, salad and scallops. It was served by Duce who did amazing and with a smile. The soup was pipping hot, the salad fresh, and the atmosphere was in front of the fireplace. Very nice all around dining experience.

Trey was a gracious host, explaining everything very well. This was my first time at Blackrock and it was perfect. The smoky old fashioned, the steak, the blue cheese Cobb salad. Fantastic! Highly recommend!

This was our first time at a Black RockGrill & it was an amazing experience! Tre was our server and he went above and beyond helping us figure out all of the amazing choices on the menu! He definitely made our experience pleasurable! The food was perfect! Definitely recommend!

Kelsie..was our friendly server!! She was very informative about the new items on the menu. She also checked on us often and our level of satisfaction. We enjoyed our Tuesday during a time we’ve never came in before to dine.

Amazing. From the drinks, to the apps and main course. Everything was outstanding. We’re from Canada and have nothing like this. I wish we did! Our server Tre was also amazing, thank you for the extra orange slices for the kids! Yum! We will be back!

Food and drinks were delicious. My husband and I had a great time dining in!

The food was delicious! The service was excellent! We always had drink refills before requesting them, and empty dishes were removed from the table very promptly without request. The estimated wait time was very accurate. Overall, it was a great experience that we will definitely be returning for.

Jocelyn was an outstanding server.. first time here, and definitely will be returning. The food was portioned properly, and the atmosphere was welcoming.

Food was incredible, the presentation was beautiful and was really cool serving the food on the hot tablets and cooking them yourself. Want to give a big shout-out to Adeline, she was so helpful with how to cook the meat and very attentive. Best service in a while. We are from out of town and this was our first experience at this restaurant, we would definitely go back.

I had the most awesome time here. I was treated to this place for my Birthday and our waiter made it the best experience ever. The food was excellent the atmosphere was proper and the service was A-1. Then after a wonderful time, dinner and experience, our waiter Blessed me with a mountain of a Birthday ice cream / cone cake and sang Happy Birthday to me. Best time ever. Will be going back very soon

We were in town for my appointment with U of M hospital. Had dinner at Black Rock. As you can see my drink was beautiful and delicious as well as our food. Our server Ann was amazing and Tre was spectacular. Definitely will be back if and when we are ever back in Ann Arbor. Heck might even make a special trip just to see these two amazing people.

Absolutely delicious, food is fresh, asparagus was tasty and each morsel perfectly chosen. The steak.. well lol you have to experience this!!! Cook your own on a lava rock??? Haven’t heard of this ever and it was an incredible joyful experience of pure, delicious food. This place is a must!!
