I own TWO Handsome bicycles, and they’re both fantastic! They’re hand-built and esthetically gorgeous. There are lots of ways to customize the build, which is great. I’ve had them for four years now, ride them frequently, and I’ve had no mechanical issues whatsoever. The owner, Jesse, will make sure you’re happy. If you’re in the market for a new lifetime bike, buy a Handsome!

Such an awesome company!! Great service helping me size my bike and the bike is amazing!! I’ve been working with city and road bikes for the past 2 decades and my experience purchasing and riding my Limited Edition Fredward Singlespeed was a 10/10!! The bike rides like a dream and the single speed works perfect for minneapolis and the flats and hills in ride everyday!

Eric (and Jesse!) made me feel incredibly welcome when discussing my custom wheel build. I had my mind set in 650b wheels with hub spacing to fit my fixed gear (100/120) which is not very common! Eric listened and then walked me through the parts I would need without making me feel pressured. AND his labor costs were less than any local bike shop I checked out in the Twin Cities. AND my wheels were built within a week! Other shops had a 6 week times frame before I could even schedule my wheel build. I’ve been putting miles and miles on my new wheels. Eric made it known that I could bring the wheels back for a quick tune up if the first few rides loosened’em up a bit (totally normal) but he did such an awesome job I doubt I’ll need to! Eric is a great addition to a local bike builder Handsome Cycles. Thanks Eric and Jesse! (Look at these beautiful wheels!)

Update: another great experience with Handsome. Ordered a new wheel, crank, BB and chain to convert my wife's old Schwinn to coaster brakes - that's what she grew up with and is more comfortable riding. It was a little tricky, Jesse was very helpful with the wheel selection and actually did a faceTime when I had questions on how to install the cog. Everything works and the wheel looks great! Someday I know I'll buy a complete bike from them!

Great experience...Ordered a wheelset from Handsome for my vintage 1981 Trek to replace the original Super Champion wheels. It was a special order, for polished Velocity Dyad rims. I was a little worried about fitting modern rims in such an old bike, Jessie was very helpful with the order and answering my basic questions. It took a little over a week, they arrived today. For my first impression, they are super shiny, perfect for for a vintage bike, perfectly true. Can't wait to try them on the road! Thanks!!

I received my Fredward bicycle yesterday and I am quite pleased with the quality. It is easy to see that the bike was built with care and pride. It was packaged very well and arrived in perfect condition. The hand built wheels are some of the truest I've ever ridden. I've owned dozens of bikes and I can honestly say that this one feels special. Thanks for going above and beyond for your customers.

Great customer service! Had an issue with delivery on my end (wrong address) and they called me when it didn't seem right. They were very patient with me and delivered to the correct address the same day.
The wheelset I bought from them have stayed true through months of riding and have been a great addition to my 1985 trek touring bike!

I am so thankful to Jesse E. and Handsome Cycles. I started looking for a frame and was going to get the parts and build it myself because there was nothing out there by any manufacturer that had everything I wanted. I found Handsome Cycles and there was no turning back. I spent so long talking to Jesse about everything I wanted. He is so knowledgeable
about bikes and components and obviously loves his company. I ordered a custom color with frame-saver to inhibit rust, and included a chain that is rust resistant. If you've ever seen these bikes personally you would know why I wanted it protected. In my case, the bike is for my daughter who is going to college in a few months and I wanted her to have a beautiful safe bike that she is proud to ride. The custom paint is exceptional and the bike is perfect. There is nothing else like it on the road. It is so smooth and I feel proud every time my daughter takes it for a ride. I live in Chicago and it is winter though for whatever reason my wimpy kid still goes for rides. To make things even better, I probably saved a couple hundred dollars not ordering parts on my own and installing them myself. Thank you Jesse E and thank you Handsome Cycles. You have a customer for life and I will shop there for all my cycling needs.

Best bikes in Minneapolis. Really happy with my custom bike Handsome cycles set up for me. They were great to work with, patient and answered all my questions. I ride my bike to work daily now and love it!

I had a fantastic first visit at Handsome Cycles. I made an appointment to buy fenders and a Thousand Heritage helmet, attracted to thier quality and style. Kyle and Jesse were kind enough to install the fenders and fix a few other small things on my bike as well. This team goes above and beyond and thier products are high-end. Easily my new go-to for bicycle accessories!

I wandered in to Handsome Cycles a month or so ago, having overhead people talking about them at the ArtCrank poster show. I was bike-shopping for the first time in six or seven years, and I'd considered mass-market bikes like I'd purchased in the past, but I wanted something I'd really feel was worth an upgrade from my old hand-me-down.

A fellow named Jesse was behind the counter. (One of the owners, though I didn't know at the time. I'm entirely unaffiliated in any way except as a happy customer.) I struck up a conversation with him, and as my boyfriend shopped for cycling-friendly jeans, Jesse listened patiently for at least 30min while I talked through my needs and anxieties about buying a new bike. He was so patient and helpful, and never once tried to "sell" me on anything - just offered ideas and feedback based on my needs and riding style. He also gave me frank tips about where I could cut costs without sacrificing anything that was important to me.

I cycle as my primary form of transportation, but I average about 10-12mph and have no desire to "race" or look like Lance Armstrong. I like sitting up, not leaning over, and find zillions of gears perplexing. You would think that I would be uncomfortable buying a custom bike, but instead Jesse made me feel more confident and comfortable than I've ever felt in a bike shop where I'm usually waiting for my boyfriend to stop talking about derailleurs with the staff.

The She Devil frames were still on a cargo ship, but Jesse offered to build up the floor model for me if I needed it immediately! I declined since it was cold and rainy, and plus, other customers would want to see that beautiful bike. He placed the order for me without even requiring money down, as apparently it would be no problem to sell it if I'd backed out. (Oh, and these bikes are reasonable in price compared to other bikes of the same build quality. And in my opinion are much, much more handsome!)

A few weeks later, my bike came, and Jesse was patient with me changing my mind about seat, handlebars, etc. (The stock seat is actually awesome!) He carefully adjusted the grips to my specific sitting style and put in the anti-theft skewers I got as a special order. (Not owning a car makes quick-release pretty pointless.) I took my bike out and put over ten miles on it that night, running errands and going out to dinner. New Bike Day is the best day!

Jesse had mentioned that after riding it a bit, I should bring it in for an adjustment. I noticed a brake pad rubbing on the tire about three weeks after purchase, and stopped by the shop. The other owner Ben was there, and in a matter of minutes he aligned my wheel and explained the spokes being put together by machine or whatever does require some human intervention after a short breaking-in period. He was also charming and helpful, and the tune-up was free!

Since the weather got nice, I've been riding my She Devil every day, including one 30-mile day to a family event out in the 'burbs, and I've been keeping up with the boy on his Surly Crosscheck. So, these are speedy bikes!

This is the longest review in the history of ever, but I want to help anyone else who's like me and feels intimidated by not being the most steeped in the Local Bike Scene. You, too, can get an awesome bike that's perfect for you, feel like you're totally making the right decision, feel supported along the way, and leave with the heady joy of New Bike Day. :)

1. Practical.
2. Beautiful.
3. Crankset made squeaky sound from day one. After 2 months of use it is smooth so it may be machine was flexing up.
4. Nice relaxed geometry.
5. Very stable. Feels like Harley Davidson of cycles.
6. Would love to see the wheels to have nut and bold rather than quick release to go with overall theme of the bike.

Super nice guys. They are based in the northern arts warehouse district now, but I still swung by their place and they were happy to let me try out their bikes and get me fit with the right one. Excellent service, I will be buying all my future parts from them.

I'm currently riding their single speed stovepipe bike and I love it more then words can explain.

My friend wanted to look at multi speed bikes and I had heard of Handsome so we wanted to check them out. When we got there my friend took out one of the Devils for a ride. While I was waiting around I decided to take a Fredward out for a spin. I could tell straight away that how well the Fredward was put together and how much better it was then my make shift Schwinn. I ended up buying a Fredward and my friend ended up with a Devil. No regrets. Now I am saving for a mulitspeed Devil.

Ordered a custom bike for wife a couple years ago for Christmas - might be the best I've given in 10 years. Great to work with quality product at a fair price.
