Max and Bella's Smokehouse

Literally the best brisket around. The bark, smoke, tenderness and flavor.. it was top notch 🤌🏻 This place has beat out our long time favorites for the area and we will definitely be back. The sides - cheesy potatoes and cream corn casserole were excellent. Portions were well worth every dollar paid. Excited to go back and try some more!

This is some of the best BBQ I’ve had but most importantly this is some of the best food I’ve had in general
I orders the huge beef rib special with mac and cheese
Salmon chowder
And the kielbasa just by itself
Everything is amazing
I could probably type three paragraphs about this place
Their sauces were excellent too
Most importantly the service was great very hospitable and friendly. Explained the menu for me and offered their specials

Just one of those beautiful American corner smokehouses which we Europeans envy so much… little house on the outskirts of Plymouth downtown. Quiet place, parking on the road. Friendly server and atmosphere, good prices. I had a half rack of ribs with pulled pork and sides. Loved all of it I am quite proud of my own ribs recipe but this was brilliant. The pulled pork was a little bit dry but really tasty. Last time I had the brisket which was also brilliant. Colossal American portions 😀 lovely place well done !

This is literally the best pulled pork I have had in my entire life and I lived in the south for years.
Juicy and full of flavor. The smoke rings are visible. You don't even need BBQ sauce because it tastes so amazing on its own. We're excited to come back more often!
You can order pulled pork by the pound instead of as a meal.

This is the best BBQ that I have eaten in Michigan. We got the ribs, brisket and chicken. The meat did not have too much fat and was skillfully smoked. We got the dirty rice as a side, but it really is a meal on its own. It is even better when you mix it with the collard greens. We sampled the salmon. It had a nice smoke taste without over powering the natural flavor of the salmon and it was not dried out. The owners are the cherry that rounded out our experience. They took the time to engage us and were warmly welcoming. The pride that they take in their craft is evident not only in the fanominal food, but also in how they treat customers. I am going to be visiting this place a lot and I highly recommend it. I got my money's worth and then some.

This is real smoked BBQ not the smoke in a bottle stuff. Everything on this menu is on spot. The brisket is my favorite, it’s melt in your mouth yummy . We are so glad that we finally have a excellent bbq place in this area. The owners Aaron and Kim are as down to earth as they come. We will be making this our go to place for sure

Excellent smoked ribs, lamb, dirty rice is spectacular, wonderful collard greens, slaw and the works! Even took home a carryout order to share with other family members. Aaron is smokin at Max and Bella's!! We'll be back.

So I wanted to try somewhere new and we found this place on Google. I am so grateful I did!! We ordered a brisket and pork meal and it was so amazing! The food was so filling, I absolutely loved the cheesy potatoes. There were 4 of us so the owner offered us a table upstairs, she had such great hospitality even asking if we needed anything even though it was just her There and she was so busy. Will definitely be back again!

We had a tray and a half of pulled pork catered from here this weekend for a party. I had heard really good things about their bbq and figured we'd give it a shot.

From the time I pulled up, I was greeted and the lady inside (I'm assuming owner) came to the door and asked if I was picking up catering. She already had everything ready to go and I was 15 minutes early. She was so nice! I will gladly come back just because of how nice she was. I was given instructions how to keep the pork warm until serving and the big bottle of sauce with the pork.

The pulled pork was great! It was moist and tender and had plenty of flavor. I was asked several times throughout the day where we had gotten the pork from because so many people liked it.

I'd like to know the secret to this sauce. As I type this, I'm eating some left over pulled pork and smothering it in this sauce. It's one of the better sauces I've had!

Next time I'm in the area, I'll stop by for some food.

What fantastic food. I got carry out today for lunch. It was my first time here. The brisket was excellent and not fatty. There was so much food my husband could not eat all of his. This picture is after he already ate a lot of the meat!! We will he back!

First time here and the brisket is spot on perfect! The couple working are so nice. This is how BBQ is supposed to be.

The ribs are absolutely top notch. These are by far the best non-sauced ribs I've ever had in my life. The smoke is phenomenal. They sell out by about 6 daily.

Great BBQ in downtown Plymouth. This is my second time visiting Max & Bella’s. The food has GREAT each time. Highly recommend trying out Max & Bella’s.

Amazing barbeque for a reasonable price. Sides are just as good too and no matter what you get you won't be disappointed. Just a fair warning they only make a certain amount of everything in any given day so get here early to make sure you get what you want.

Yesterday, I wanted ribs for dinner.
I did a search of restaurants and Max and Bella's restaurant came up.
I never heard of the place.
I looked at their great ratings and very good reviews.
I'm sold.
I gave them a call an hour before closing and I got an answering machine.
The message told me they were sold out for the day.
Even though I was disappointed, I knew this BBQ place made fresh product everyday.
Today, I called earlier.
Yes ! A lady with a very friendly voice answered the phone so I knew they still have BBQ.
I told her what I wanted which was baby back ribs, a Scooby snack( Beef brisket sandwich ), soup( I forgot the name. Made with brisket and beans. ) and dirty rice.
Each entree came with sides..
I got Mac-n-cheese and greens for the sides.
When I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a heavenly smoky aroma and a very friendly lady.
I asked the lady numerous questions and related some stories.
She was kind and answered all my questions.
Their ribs come without sauce.
That is a very bold move.
I've been to a number of places that attempt to hid inferior ribs under an ocean of sauce.
No worries here.
The ribs are tasty, smoky, tender and moist.
There are two sauces.
One is Apple cider vinegar based and the other is sweet.
I'm am totally sold on their sweet sauce.
I can say that I have never have had good brisket at a restaurant anywhere.
Even Texas.
The only brisket that I had that was good came from backyard barbecuers.
Today, the brisket was incredible.
When I opened up the brisket sandwich, the meat glistened.
You could see how moist the meat was.
Before I knew it, half the sandwich was gone.
It's all I could do was to put it down and save the remaining portion for my wife.
Next I dived into the dirty rice.
Oh my. Most excellent.
I have not had such outstanding dirty rice since I was in New Orleans.
The greens were nice and tart.
I thought they could have been made with some sausage for added flavor.
The Soup was good with brisket and beans.
After all I have said - Will I be back ?
