Creative Designs and Fabrics (Custom Upholstery & Window Treatment )

I have been looking for someone to make custom drapes for me for more than two years. I got multiple quotes- all were outrageously expensive. Creative designs made my drapes exactly how I wanted, the quality of the workmanship was top notch and turnaround time was 2 weeks! In addition, they did it at a very reasonable price. They also do upholstery, roman shades, pillows etc. I highly recommend!

I worked with Edwin on the reupholstery of cornices. He was patient and helpful and provided professional recommendations and expertise. The cornices look beautiful and add an elegance to our living room. The fabric and workmanship were exemplary. I can't wait to work with him again on my next project!

Holy cow. What a lucky find!! My wife and i came here to look for fabric to reupholster our chair (we had an idea of 2 possible people to do the job). After finding the fabric we liked, we spoke to the woman there and she told us they do the actual reupholstering and showed us some work. Awesome , clean lines and beautiful, professional work. After speaking with Edwin, his price was better than any of the competition, it actually wasnt even close. The chair came out awesome, i literally couldnt be happier, and im a tough one to please. We hired Edwin after working with Kathy as the designer for about 13 different custom window treatments in our new home. We did window treatments for our parlor, living room, office and two bedrooms, as well as a window seat cushion and coordinating pillows. Kathy was helpful in guiding us towards designs and patterns, but was not as communicative as we would have liked. One fabric we chose was very different from what we thought it would be, and we felt she could have explained better. We ended up with a very expensive Dupioni silk window treatment that we really didn't like because we didn't understand that the fabric was two different textures. It ended up not being in the style we would have liked at all. While we found the shades and draperies to be constructed well, we found Edwin to be very disorganized. He didn't arrive on days or times that we had agreed upon, getting those wrong a couple of times. This was an inconvenience as we both work. There were many uncomfortable disagreements with Edwin on what we chose, and mistakes that he made, and Edwin argued vehemently with us until his designer, Kathy, told him that we were correct and that he was wrong. He raised his voice to me, and seemed angry, and that made me very uncomfortable. In addition, there were serious installation issues. We had ordered blackout draperies for one bedroom, and Edwin brought them without the blackout lining, so he had to take them back and add the lining - another delay and inconvenience. He also forgot the tassels we had ordered for those same draperies and had to add them after he brought the draperies to our home. Upon installation of different bedroom curtains, he started the installation for a straight rod, after I had informed him I had purchased French return rods. He created many holes in our plaster walls for the wrong rods. Had I not been checking and supervising, he would have installed the drapes with the wrong rods. We now need to get the holes he made repaired. He also installed rods completely crooked, not measuring and not using a level. Again, I had to correct the measurements, and was glad that I insisted on supervising the whole installation or he would have botched it completely. His assistant was there with a steamer, but left without steaming the curtains. When I contacted Edwin twice right after the installation to return to steam the wrinkles out of the silk curtains, he never responded. While I think the craftsmanship is decent, and I can be honest about that, I also need to be honest in saying that the service and installation are very unprofessional, and we found Edwin to be unresponsive and disorganized. We're looking for another company to do additional window treatments for our kitchen and on our upper floor. We will not use Creative Designs and Fabrics again as we feel they caused a lot of inconvenience for us and were not professional. We bought a beautiful, turn of the century home with amazing details, and we didn't feel that the service we received was up to the standard of our home.
