Downing Park

I have been coming here for years. It is a wonderful Park. The paths are good for walking. It's also nice to sit under one of many trees and read or just chill out. The restrooms are super clean. There is a wonderful playground that is constantly being used. And so much more.

Nice little park, most use it to park their cars and go walk in FDR Park.
Update: Has nice ball fields and various facilities. Great spot that people and groups can use to meet at. Has two pavilions that can be rented or if they are not being used just drop-in and use them randomly.
Great for dog owners

This is a gem among the local parks in Yorktown Heights. It has a great playground for kids, a picnic area/pavilion (permit required), long walking/running trails among the trees providing shade for the visitors, a workout court. The parking spaces may be hard to find at the time of group gatherings and celebrations. The access is free. There's a toilet on the premises and a working water fountain. This is a great place to spend time with kids or pets close to the mother nature.

Wonderful entrance to FDR park. The children's playground is sweet and magical. They have a little library box which is a great surprise. I got 2 bestsellers and plan to add some books on my next visit. I will be back and walk and enjoy nature in Yorktown.

It is a nice and clean playground.
The equipment is more geared for ages 5 and up. There are some musical wall activities and balancing act equipment. But there are no swings and a small slide. My charge is an active 2.5yr old that got frustrated with the equipment as she was just to small to play and enjoy it. The picknic tables are great.

Great park. Softball field well maintained by Yorktown Park and Rec. Roomy gazebo for gatherings. Wooded trails and foot access to FDR State Park.

Great trails. Love the jungle gym setup. Especially pull up bars. Anyone know of other pull up bar set ups in the area?

Yorktown takes good care of this park. We've lived here 30+ years, and it remains a great place to relax outdoors.

Great place for outdoor activities, to spend time with family and friends. Great bars for doing chin ups and pull ups.

This is a buetiful park with lots of space to spend time with the family.

Stopped on our trip from upstate NY down south. Great place for a quick break with kids!
