The ambiance of the space was delightful, characterized by high ceilings and generously sized tables that provided ample comfort and space to savor our meal. Offering both indoor and outdoor dining options, the outdoor area featured a portion shielded by plastic, ensuring protection from the elements. Additionally, a second-floor dining room overlooking the main indoor area seemed reserved for private functions. The cuisine impressed with its excellence and visually appealing presentation. Service was both friendly and attentive, and portion sizes were fitting for a fine dining experience. An added charm was the outdoor movie screenings against the establishment's wall, which lent its name. Highly recommended.

We went in for brunch on a cloudy day. They did have heaters on for outdoor seating. Food was good. Special mention for the ricotta, beets and carrots. Others had the champagne omlette and French toast and commented that was good as well.

Had a wonderful late dinner at Foreign Cinema. The food was excellent, highly recommend to wine flight as it paired well with each course. Service was attentive but not overbearing and the venue is warm and inviting. I would definitely return.

Did brunch. Food and service was good. Sat on the patio side which is dog friendly. I would've liked the French toast to be crisper.

all in all, very pleasant experience. food was pretty solid, but very overpriced for the portions. loved the carpaccio, and squid was cooked perfectly. swordfish was a bit over and the miso was not super strong, thai curry was a bit salty. favorite movie playing in the background, though we were seated inside so couldn’t get the full experience.

The duck is delicious, and the dishes are both interesting and tasty. Since it's my birthday, they even gifted me a special dessert and a postcard. The atmosphere and service provided were perfect. The warm ambiance in winter, combined with the outdoor movie vibe, makes it ideal for dates and special occasions.

10/10 for the food, service and atmosphere! I definitely recommend the potato leek soup and the pork chop! We also had the butternut squash mochi which was also good!

A must see. I had brunch there over the weekend. But it's not just the food that makes Foreign Cinema an unforgettable experience. The setting itself is a work of art. Dining under the starlit sky in the open-air courtyard, with classic films projected on the wall, creates an ambiance like no other. It's a place where every moment feels like a celebration of life, love, and exceptional cuisine

Great dinner experience for 4 with The Titanic on the ‘screen’ for the night. We ordered everything family style so we could taste it all. Highlights were the pork chop and fried chicken mains. All agreed that pork chops are hard to do right but ordered on a recommendation and it didn’t disappoint. Would definitely return to taste more of their menu. The house collab IPA was also solid. Well done, Foreign Cinema!!

We walked in without a reservation on a Wednesday night. The hosts were kind and lovely, so were the service staff. The ambiance is delightful, they have a backyard also but it was too chilly for me.

The salad was too anchovy-heavy for me but I am in love with the fried chicken. It was succulent and crispy and sweet. Perfection. The acme bread was good but I wish we hadnt ordered it it was just okay.

Excellent upscale spot for vibes and good food. It's a fun concept — sitting outside with the hanging lights while enjoying a movie projected onto the back wall. Food-wise, some notable favorites were the grilled lavender-brined pork chop, the grilled Monterey Bay calamari (just wow) and the Santa Barbara smoked salmon. Do give this spot a try if you are in the area and want to splurge a bit.

I am so happy to have been recommended this place by friends. They were totally right; it's a MUST to try. Came here for a special occasion and I was very impressed with the ambiance & decor, the friendly service, creative menu selections, and or course the tasty food 😋. I would definitely recommend for any occasion -- the vibe is semi-casual, but it's very open and inviting. You definitely need to experience the outdoor patio setting and watch the films they display 📽

A nice concept restaurant - guests sitting in the tables in the courtyard can enjoy the movie projected on to a big wall while they dine (after dusk). There are many heaters to help fight often chilly San Francisco weather. The food was great, especially the duck breast and bavette steak. The fried chicken was just OK.

We came here to celebrate a birthday and they gave us a small birthday card. On the dessert that we ordered they put a "happy birthday" note and a candle. There was no complimentary dessert though.

Amazing experience, great ambiance and delicious food makes this place the perfect date night getaway. We tried their famous fried chicken and it did not disappoint. Please do not pass on their bread selection.
Every seating spot is planned out so if you want to have the outside experience but afraid that it will be too chilly, don’t hesitate this place was warm and cozy even outside. Loved it!

Great place to have a meal. The food is incredible and changes daily based on fresh local ingredients. The atmosphere is great with indoor, outdoor and indoor/outdoor dining. The service is excellent--very attentive, but not uncomfortable. Reservations are always recommended, as the place tends to be quite busy.

This is an experience dinner. It's not about value. It's about really good food and a high end environment. Great place for a first date or special occasion. My daughter tells me you usually need a reservation. We did walk up and get a spot, but I think it's cuz my daughter is cute and friendly!

The food is excellent. We had the olives and warm bread plus the fromage as appetizers. The olives were seasoned and very fresh and tasty. The fermage was good. Not incredible, but very good. Warm with crisp bread and fresh wraps.

We went for the ribeye steak. And it was delicious. Tender and flavorful. Almost too flavorful. But again more of an experience. They bad a lot of aromatic spices to the plate that complement the steak. It's a personal preference, but I prefer to add additional flavors to steak in very small quantities. Yeah we're all quality of the meat was excellent, well cooked and very flavorful.

My daughter had the pork chop and said it was delicious!

Took home some panna cotta to my wife, but I never got to taste it so it can't really review it! It doesn't really seem fair..,

I would definitely seek to just this place as a great special occasion, business dinner kind of local. I know they have movies but we did not really participate in that side of things.

By the way, the outdoor dining area looked very charming. The interior is elegant but low key.

The service was very good. They seem to have an abundance of staff that would bring you drinks or check on you. Christina, our server was attentive, cheerful and helpful.

Great Restaurant with a great ambience & vibe. Went for our first wedding anniversary & the experience was a delight. The dishes were good to great & desert were delicious. They were also playing a B&W movie on the outside section. I believe their menus change almost every day. The guys there were nice people and treated us nicely. Great experience! Definitely recommend for special occasions.

I was here for a small wedding. The location is a little unexpected, in a rougher part of town, but that only adds to the charm. It's a large place, with several rooms with tall ceilings. They project movies onto the walls. It had an intimate and soft feel to the atmosphere. The food was first rate, for our experience we had multiple small plates hand crafted by the chef, salads, scallops, braised meat. There was also a bartender, and the cocktails were exquisite and skillfully made, we got a chance to directly compare, coincidentally stopping for the same kind at a local bar right before arriving. I hope to come back for the regular service someday

Classy and chic place for dates and special events. You need to book a table in a couple of weeks to get in a list for the time you want but it really worth it. The interior, food and service- everything is top notch. Their chief is a real master of delightful taste combinations. And waiters can sell you much more you were going to eat😁

Incredible brunch experience. The food was creative and full of flavour with French and Mexican influences, and the space was wonderful with lots of natural lighting and just the right amount of ambient noise for energy in the room.

Highly recommend the calamari with mole - it had a great earthiness to it.
