Java Beach Cafe

A good place to go before or after time on the beach. Pricey but tasty broccoli cheddar soup. (Good hot but not scolding hot temperature and nice bread that comes with it. Generous with the bread as well. )

Loved the artistic charming paper coffee cups.

Will definitely come back and already enjoyed my experience at another Java Beach Cafe location the last time I was in San Francisco.

Would really like to try next the Cesar salad with chicken.

We loved this place. Right in the beach, super fun cool vibes inside. They have an amazing assortment of breakfast pastries, breakfast burritos and of course, coffee! They use biodegradable cups and things so that's amazing. The staff was friendly and kind. The location was perfect. This will be a stop every time we go back to San Francisco. They have inside and outside seating and the line wait wasn't too long. Maybe about 10 minutes for us.

Excellent food, very interesting location. Not too many people. I really enjoyed eating here. They have indoor and outdoor tables.

This is my #1 spot to go to in San Francisco for a multitude of reasons. You can grab a coffee, tea (or breakfast/lunch/dinner) & then stroll or picnic along the beach or chill at their expanded outdoor seating areas.

Java Beach Cafe is the only cafe in San Francisco which is right ‘on the beach’ and yet super affordable, high quality food & beverage options & wonderful connections with the local Irish community.

I typically order their delicious BLT on sourdough bread - though EVERYTHING on the menu is fantastic!

Before the pandemic they had evening live ‘folk’ music & longer hours - so I’m hoping this will return as more & more people get out & about.

Just like everything in SF it's pricey, however, it is worth it. Best iced Americano I've had in a long time. The sandwiches are much larger than you'd expect from a coffee shop, actually bigger than some full service restaurants! Quite filling and the kettle chips that come with are great as well. Never had a bad experience with the food or staff. Always friendly, always tasty, always exactly as ordered. My favorite place to stop when I'm working in the area.

This is a great location to grab and go to the beach or just chill inside. I got the tsunami, it was good, filling and tasty. In addition i got the iced vanilla bean latte and it was creamy and tasty. I would come back!

Nice beachfront coffee shop with a casual vibe and tons of outdoor seating, well positioned for great people watching. Large selection of beverages, including many options for coffees and teas. Good selection of food options for breakfast or lunch, including tasty breakfast burritos. Quite busy on nice weekend days with a constant line.

You can't beat getting a hot beverage when you are chilly at the ocean! This place has a beach vibe. It's right at the city light rail turnaround for the N-Judah, which you can take to the beach and enjoy lunch at this cafe.

Oh man. This place is the best coffee shop hands down in the Outer Sunset. I absolutely love the golden turmeric latte with almond milk. It’s right next to the beach, and the inside sit down area is a nice pleasant vibe. I’ve probably spent at least $300 here on lattes! You won’t be disappointed if you try it.

This little gem of a coffee shop / Cafe is across the street from the zoo but there is another one down the road a bit on la playa! they have wonderful coffee , fresh Irish soda bread ,croissants both plain and stuffed, Sammie, bagels , and the standard type fare you would expect at a Beachside Cafe. prices are moderate - inexpensive for SF & the location. there are plenty of outlets and power strips available to plug in your laptop while you're writing your alleged screenplay or novel and they do provide bins for composting, recycling and reusable cups and silverware so you aren't wasting any plastic unless you really want to. I sometimes end up here after my morning swim and it is always delightful. The staff is always quite friendly. Ada accessible entrances and bathrooms make this tops in my book for an easy meet up place. Non binary bathrooms too. highly recommend!!

Long line, but it moved quickly. Great salmon bagels and snacks! Butterscotch latte is excellent.

They really do make a great sandwich. I got the java club with turkey and a side of their spicy coleslaw— which really does have a kick! The outdoor seating is also very nice but just a heads up if you are going on a Sunday around peak lunch time hours then you’ll end up having to wait 20 minutes or so to get your food.

drinks, food all was good! Very packed, wait time could be longer that average but was worth the wait. Espresso, cappuccino and butterscotch latte all was nice, also they offer variety of non dairy milk. sandwiches, wraps - all tasted freshly made and delicious! nice beach coffee shop

My favorite dishes to order from here are the juicy Java Club or creamy Turkey Sub. Their housemade chips are delectable, and they make a pretty tasty Mocha.

Gotta love an SF spot where you could literally have brunch & coffee and linner & happy hour at all in the same day!

Super cute place, amazing location, great coffee, great food, and friendly service. I literally couldn’t ask for more if I tried! I tried a hummus & veggie bagel and it was delicious and refreshing, perfect fare before a short walk across the street to the beach. If you’re looking for a little relaxation, I can’t recommend this enough.

Nice cafe near Ocean beach. Very busy place though. I was standing in the line for almost 15-20 mins. Lot of drink and food choices on the menu. There is seating outside and inside. Latte was pretty good. Very popular place.

A gorgeous little cafe next to the tram stop by the beach. A lovely quiet place to relax and grab a hot drink or bite to eat.

You won’t find a better place to just sit back take a sip of your coffee, get a sandwich & some cold slaw & listen to the waves of the ocean! thats what i had, except the coffee, i’ll get it next time, but i did order a sandwich & you choice between chips or cold slaw as a side all under $10! Can you believe that! plus my sandwich had tons of roast beef! plus the cold slaw was enough to get full, & i just ordered half a sandwich! The girl behind the counter was super friendly, overall you won’t regret coming to this cafe right next to Ocean Beach. I also noticed they sell bagels & pastries gotta try that next time i come back to this place! Highly recommend this place if your ever hungry & are looking for lunch at the beach!
