I just switched from MCMG to this practice after many years of putting up with doctors who didn’t listen or take me seriously. I always felt rushed, and office staff ignored phone messages or Rx requests.
What a breath of fresh air! This office is filled with smiling faces and no one is rushing! Everyone was kind to me and Took the time to be very thorough updating my health history. I’m so excited and relieved to have found a provider I know I’ll be able to trust, and it’s so conveniently close to home! Thanks Dr. Fischer and MA Yasmine for providing great care today.

OhioHealth Marion Area Physicians (formerly known as Delaware Smith Clinic) has been my family practitioner for more than 20+ years. My entire family actually continues to use this facility because the staff is THAT amazing. The nurse staff, admin staff and the team of doctors are absolutely the best in Delaware. I continue to live more than 35 minutes away, and pass several other offices on the drive to Delaware, but refuse to change offices because they are that helpful.

If you get the chance to make this your family medical office, do it. Don't worry about the decision, you wont regret it.

I am thankful for Dr. Taylor she is wonderful to my son and wife. The issue with this place would nobody picks a phone up. It will literally take 3 days and 20 minutes to get someone on the phone. I used the prescription refill phone line and didn’t get anyone to answer. I followed directions and gave my sons name birthdate name of prescription where it gets filled my name and phone number on a Monday and it’s Saturday no phone call no prescription and I had to call and wait on hold to long. Smith clinic has been like this since 2013 and I left because of a month of misdiagnosis that almost killed me. That doctor doesn’t work there anymore. Please hire more employees to handle more work or quit taking and refer patients to other clinics and lighten the load.

Before Ohio Health took them over, they were a top notch care facility. Their staff was happy and it was a good place to be seen. In examining the corporate hierarchy of Ohio Health, it astounded me when I found out how few of the company's leadership have medical qualifications. There are a few nurses on the board, but I doubt if they can remember the last time they took a patient's vitals. There was ONE DOCTOR and he was close to the bottom of the list. I see the problem. If Ohio Health can't see it and fix it, they will just become another place to run into the ground. Patients will leave because they are disgruntled or die because the company wants more patients seen per hour. Diagnoses will be missed because staff is running between patients. In the end, patients will suffer. In the end, all of these medical administrators will wonder why their patients left them. The reason they'll wonder is because they have lost focus on the mission. The moment they put a person without medical qualification in charge of the company, they stopped being patient focused and became financially focused.

Since Ohio Health took over, there has been a morale problem. "The Rules" the staff is required to follow preclude any sort of professional judgement by the staff. What is the sense of employing professionals if a company won't allow them professional judgement?

The phone and web system should improve the responsiveness of the care provided to the patient. Now, things that had taken one business day will require two full business days.

I started going to them because they could be responsive. Corporate Medicine has ruined that. The people in charge at Ohio Health are not doctors and are, therefore, unqualified to lead a company like this. The CV of each of the top level of management should be examined. If the individual's chief qualification is an MBA and not an MD, the person should be removed from his or her position. They have forgotten about patient care and won't let their staff perform it anymore.

I am sure, if left to their own devices again, the personnel at The Smith Clinic could return it to its former glory. Ohio Health needs to back way off and the the medical professionals practice medicine.

Checking in is always fast but clinic always runs slow. My PCP is seldom available when I need her.
