Believe the hype this place is goooooood. I got there early around 10minutes before it opened on a Wednesday and there was already a line of 2 so I suggest getting there as early as possible to avoid the potential ques. I wanted to try everything but I settled for the Lexington croissant, raspberry and hibiscus and couldn't resist picking up a cornflake cookie for later :) Both the croissants had amazingly fantastic flaky pastry with flavourful but not overpowering fillings, the chocolate coating on the lexington added a nice crunch and different texture where as the creamy filling on the raspberry did the same job in a different way on the other.
The cornflake cookie was amazingly sweet but with the nutty undertones was a great match, perfect with a coffee. A great bakery to try for sure.

Usually a huge line but only one person in front of us on Friday morning. The croissants really are amazingly puffy and just a bit crunchy even with the fillings. The lemon meringue doughnut was good and the meringue was perfect on top. The raspberry hibiscus croissant was amazing and not too overbearing. And the garlic herb croissant roll was very garlicky (so watch out who you talk to after haha) but delicious!

Favorite bakery in SF. A little bit of a sketchy area though. I went with my child and a lady on the walk up the street to the bakery literally tried to take her out of my husband’s arms. So be aware of the area and your surroundings while there. We go at 9:00am and get the pastries fresh including the famous Crufin. Everything we have tried here has been amazing.

Went to visit San Francisco to see relatives here all the way from Toronto. And this was my first stop!! We had to wait for almost 30 mins with the long line up. But totally worth it! Absolutely delicious. Please open a store in Toronto Canada!

Totally lives up to the hype!!
We walked here from our rental apartment two times because it was soooo delicious. Luckily, they still had most of their pastries. The second time we went, I ended up getting a box full to fly home with because they were too good and I needed to keep eating them. My favorite kind was the croissant with chocolate inside. I tried many pastries and this one was by far my favorite! There is hardly any parking and it isn’t in the best part of town, so I would recommend getting a Lyft or Uber to take you here. It’s fairly close to the courthouses, but not a super fun walk if it’s raining. I can’t think of anything else you’d want to hang around this area for, so you could probably have your driver wait if there isn’t a line.

Mr. Holmes is doing something right. I hope to go here again some day. It’s probably the best bakery I’ve ever been to.

Totally worth the wait! The filled donuts are my favorite! I love the variety and how it's made fresh that day. Line moves fairly fast but stock up!

Walk past this place and you might miss it although the boxes in the window are a tell tale sign. There's no real seating to speak of although with it's an instagrammer's dream. All the baked goods look the business but don't leave without one of their famous cruffins or a donut (flavours change regularly) they are next level delicious. If you can't decide, ask the staff who are happy to make recommendations.

10/10 This place was SO GOOD!
I made sure I got there early before a line started, but the service is great and super fast so I wouldn’t worry too much if there’s a line.
Their flavors for some things change every day so I recommend checking to see what they have depending on the day of the week that you plan to go.
I got the Chocolate Banana Cruffin which was DIVINE! It had the perfect flaky croissant texture and taste in the cutest shape of a muffin.
The Churro Croissant was also AMAZING!
The Pastrami Manchego Croissant was yummy as well.
Also this place is an Instagram pic Heaven so make sure to wear some cute clothes!

Great neighborhood bakery for modern pastries. From sweet to savory they have something for everyone. Get there early because they tend to sell out of the legendary kruffins fast. Make sure you get the box, which usually fits up to 6 pastries. Runs about $20 to $30 bucks but it’s worth it.

Donuts are also very very good.
The place is small with a neon instagrammable sign.
It’s defijitely not cheap but worth it.

Great selection of pastries, friendly service, small and cozy. My favorite is raspberry custard filled donuts. It’s just perfect, light and soft, not too sweet. I also love the Kougin Amann. I bought Matcha Croissants for friends and they said, it was delicious!! Price range: $3.80-$5.80 Note: On the weekend, be prepare to wait in line:)

Some of the best desserts you can get in San Francisco! I really do think it's on par with Tartine! They have some unique desserts like the pastrami croissant!

I've probably been here more times than I should. I just can't help myself. From the infamous cruffin, to their buttery croissants, to savory danishes, and cookies too. Oh and donuts that rotate as well. Everything here is satisfying and will keep you coming back for more....well at least that's what it does for me.

So far my favorite things have been their almond stuffed cruffin (the cruffins change quarterly, so do the donuts.) I'm glad I live here because it's nice to stop in during the week. Even during the week the line can get long. At 9am is when they start serving cruffins and it's first come first serve. Once they run out, they run out. They don't make any more for the day, so get there around 8:40am if you plan on getting a cruffin. I can't even imagine what it's like on the weekends. The have the infamous "I got backed in San Francisco sign." Great photo op after you purchase your goods. Back to the baked goodness, I love the ham and cheese croissant ($5) , the strawberry jalapeño bear claw -runs about $4.5, and their savory bread pudding ($4). Definitely worth a try if you are visiting. Staff are friendly and the line goes by quickly. Not really any seating inside, except a few stools by the window, so be prepared to stand in the street while you eat your delicious goodies.

Amazing ! We wanted to go there for their cruffin and we surely didn't regret it. We tried their donut, their cookie and some of their filled croissants and they were delicious. Sugary of course but not too heavy.

This small store in San Francisco is such a gem. They have an incredible selection of pastries. There are two special pastries exclusive for a day of the week. Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the board with their names. If you are in SF, you should definitely check this place out. You will regret not getting pastries to go. Everything is very flavorful, tasty and fulfilling. Enjoy!!!

Really nice bakery with delicious sweets. The make cruffins in the morning and each they there’s a different flavour. You’ll have to go there early because it’s very busy and they sell fast. You’ll probably have to queue because the place is small amd very popular.

Delicious pastries! Definitely worth the hype on Instagram. You have to try the cruffins! They have a different type every day. The neighborhood is a little sketchy though.

So delish, I could have one every day. My fave is the creme brulee danish and the blueberry/blackberry cheesecake danish. Parking is a bit difficult but I promise this place is worth the wait and walk.

From the classic butter croissant to the complex Cruffin, Mr. Holmes Bakehouse will make you fall in love again for pastry.
They start serving their Cruffins at 9:00am which has its own separate line where you can buy the famous pastry but also another ones. And a second line for other pastries only (no cruffin on this one). You should aim to arrive early around 8:30am to make sure to stand in the line for the Cruffin; Yes, it's completely worth it.
Also, if you think of going once to try, enjoy and forget about it, I sorry to disappoint you, this place deserves regular visits since they change the Cruffin's fillings on a daily basis. I can't wait to see what they have for my next visit!
