OMG... I found out now that I don't need to fly to Paris for true Parisian pastries. This place is that good! It's located in Soma. Not expecting much, but was totally blown away. The owner was a very friendly lady who gave me several samples of their yummy goodies. That totally had me hooked.. I purchased the apple turnover and the almond croissant. When I took it home to eat the items, it was so light and buttery. Exactly how the French makes their pastries...Omg to the OMG and back. I definitely will come back!!

Full disclosure, I go here almost every day. Free coffee on Mondays with purchase! The pastries are amazing and they usually have a few holiday inspired items too (pumpkins and Yule logs ❤). We also love their amazing sandwiches which I like to pick up for lunch or we will pack a few for our hikes around the Bay Area with the dogs. This is a great place to catch up with friends over good food or make a few work calls and relax outside an enjoy the character that is San Francisco . If you are looking for a place to camp and work all day, this isn’t it. This is a busy bakery not a library quite chain cafe.

Wonderful atmosphere, beautiful space and delicious treats! I felt transported to France! Owners are originally from France, they speak French and I got to practice my French as well! The owner is super inviting, she greeted me as soon as I walked in! Offered a free puff pastry that was fresh and crisp and yummy!! The croissant is extraordinary! Definitely will enjoy again!! 🥐🥐🥐🥐

A great place in SoMa, which needs more places like this. You walk in and are warm greeted by the smell of warm dough and friendly smiles, asking if you'd like to try a sample of something so amazingly delicious. There's a good variety of pastries, so it's okay if you take your time to decide. Take a seat inside or outside and enjoy the incredible flavor.

Touch of Paris in San Francisco

Les Gourmands has atleast 25 pastries and bread that are impossibly hard to choose from so I just pick one of each and walk out.

It's so great to have an authentic French bakery here in San Francisco! The owner Sylvain is a 5th generation French baker, and he clearly knows his stuff.

They use premium imported French butter and Belgium chocolate. The pastries were close to four stars, and I'm tacking on a fifth because the service was so wonderful.

I personally enjoyed the puff feuilletés the most. These were extra flakey and light, and they came in three flavors - apple, raspberry, and apricot.

The sablé de normandie (shortbread cookies) were another favorite. The cookies were lighter and less sweet than your typical American-style shortbread. The raisin was particularly good.

I also liked the Amandines - round tarts with almond filling which can have fruit as well. The bright raspberry was my favorite.

The viennoiseries were the weakest link here. The croissants were too dense and not flakey enough. The almond croissants were also dense, even for the style. The owner was transparent about areas for improvement as they are training new apprentices. I have no doubt they will only get better.

In the meantime, I'll be grabbing more of those puff feuilletés!

Super delicious pastries and friendly service! Love this family run pastry shop. Must try the chouquettes, it is a very light pastry that goes very well with coffee.

Hands down the best croissants I’ve ever had! There’s a lot to choose from and everything here is great, it’s owned by a French family and they’re always super friendly.

Delightfully tasty sandwiches from deceptively simple ingredients. We loved the Rome and Paris sandwiches - great bread and great combinations of meats and stuff. Great quality of ingredients and great balance. Pastries worth a separate praise.

This place has wonderful pastries and good coffee. The service is fantastic. I recommend getting at least 1 of the croquettes, they are light and fluffy and still pack a bunch of flavor. This is probably the best croissant in the city. The brioche is soft and tasty. Check this place out!

We’ve not been able to travel lately but coming here brings us back great memories. The lady and the guy at counter are nice people and the pastries are good.

I’m so glad I found this gem, right around the corner of my gf yoga class. Perfect spot for me to do do some paperwork for an hour with my coffee and pastry. They are friendly and I notice they have many regulars so thats a good sign! The selection for pastries are amazing, so far I’ve tried the chocolate and almond croissants. Buttery and flaky in a good way. One day I’ll try the sandwich but I get full with just my pastry and coffee. It is a busy corner though so better bring earphones.

Add: I finally got to try the turkey sandwich. The bread soft on the inside with a fresh crust, with a pesto spread cheese and lettuce. It was so good.

Check out the new French family owned and runned bakery in downtown San Francisco. It's a 5 minute walk from the Westfield Mall on Market St.

It's really one of the best bakeries in San Francisco! Great, delicious french pastries, tarts and pies! The main point that its french family-owned bakery and they know perfectly how to bake👍 Our lovely place to go!

The lemon meringue is amazing and the latte was really nice. The meringue is pretty sweet so it's probably paired best with an unsweetened drink. My friend's raspberry amandine was really good, too.

Best French bakery in SF. Their baguette has the right crunchiness (I'm french so I'm picky with this) and they have real éclairs au chocolat (filled with chocolate and not whipped cream or custard).
The pastries are delicious too.

Immediately received a warm welcome and a delicious bite of a sample of a croissant. The outside was the perfect amount of crisp and the inside was mouth meltingly soft. Highly recommend trying the Prasline, a croissant filled with hazelnuts.

Can’t believe I have lived in soma six months and I haven’t come here. It’s amazing totally traditional/authentic like you’re in Paris. I’ve tried four things already and this is just day one. I’ll come back here no matter where I live. Drop by and meet these lovely French bakers

Cathérine was the warmest host and made me feel like a guest in her own home. The prasline hit the spot with its lightly spiced crème filling and crispy exterior. Tried the almond croissant but for my tastes was more on the moist side similar to a bread pudding. Still prefer that of Neighbor Bakeshop. Nonetheless, def give them a try. You can easily go on a tour of pâtisseries while in SF’s SoMa.
