Richmond New May Wah Supermarket

Great supermarket! They have pretty much everything you need to make Chinese food. I especially like that they offer chicken bones in addition to pork/beef bones. They also have a pretty good selection of tea/noodles

The premier store. The satsuma tangerines were candy sweet. well I hope so at 299 a pound and I think the honey tangerines were $3.99 a pound but I know that she always buys the very finest possible fruits and vegetables as well as everything else. Like cup of soup and Ramin in a bag. Where else could you find 50 different varieties she's got them. Incredible seafood, incredible store. This is a one of a kind store. If you want Asian delicacies and staples at mostly fair prices This is the place to go. You won't find another store like it. This is a big store with the finest produce probably in all of the Bay area. Karen the owner she don't mess around!

Extensive selection of Asian groceries (is well priced--the crazy sriracha price finally went back down). Very fresh and inexpensive vegetables. Fresh meat too, and while their English isn't always great at the butcher counter it works out fine.

Good availability of lots of ingredients key for making many types of Asian cuisine. Can take a little getting used to figuring out where things are (some stuff grouped by country for example) but they probably have what you are looking for, and for less than you’d get charged by other supermarkets marking up a Chinese vinegar or what have you

Favorite Richmond Market. Amazing selections of fresh produce, extensive butcher and fish counter, and just about every kind of canned, dried or preserved ingredients you could ever think of for cooking.

A good supermarket for all your Asian inspired ingredients and more. There is a butcher and fish guy for meat and seafood. Expect a crowded establishment with narrow aisles. Super awesome selection of top ramen and hot sauce.

Great variety for dry noodle soups and fresh seafood. Purchased a Red Snapper 🐟 for diner.

No parking lot, so metered parking only. Located in a busy area, so parking could be a challenge.

*update: Sriracha has supply issues, and saw it being sold for $29.99 with limit 1! 😲

Great supermarket especially featuring Asian food and groceries. Fish department has all types, as well as chicken pieces. Some items are a little more than you'd expect, others are less expensive.

This place has many interesting goods. I was looking for bean curd. They had at least 50 different ones. Some tofu, some curd with varying chilli levels, some sweet, whole bean fermented, etc. Noodles: there might be more varieties. The ginger they use with sushi: white and pink. Mock meats. Fish. Soy sauce. Prices: quite decent. Inner Richmond has some amazing stores, and this is one of them.

One of my favorite Asia supermarket in San Francisco. The shop is pretty big in this area. I found a lot of Thai products for my cooking!

Best Chinese grocery in city. Excellent choices @ reasonable price.

The owner of this market was an enormous help to me recently. She found my cell phone in an uber, spoke with my sister to let her know she had my phone, and held it at the store for me to pick up when I returned to SF. She communicated with us throughout the entire process. When I went to the market to pick it up days later, she brought it out to me and would not accept a reward despite my multiple attempts. Her kindness was a breath of fresh air and even though I do not live near the Richmond, I will be returning here to shop and support this market run by great people.

I love New May Wah. Sid a bighwrb and condiment shop, then I had delicious dim sum across the street at Good Luck Dim Sum!

One of the most comprehensive sources of ingredients in San Francisco for Chinese and Southeast Asian cuisine, including dependable supply of galanga, kafir lime leaves, and Thai basil

Some of the best prices for supermarket grade basic foods like fish, meat and vegetables, and very fresh due to the huge amount of product they move. Processed American foodstuffs not so much.

The new wah wah is the Asian version of Safeway but with cooler products. You never know what you will find jammed on a shelf or stacked in a bun. If you succumb to the urge to travel the exotic food route, then this market is the place you can get things you never knew you needed. Take a side trip to the weird "all things canned" aisle. Check out the United Nations of refrigerator sections. Grab a bag of lychees and a really fancy bottle of hooch. Learn some Mandarin or Cantonese so you can ask all the regular shopping questions but in a different language. Like, "is this ripe? Do you have Mango pudding mix? Do I even wanna know what that is?". Not recommended for people who are heavily high but a cool place for the rest of us lovers of exciting culinary adventures. (Or just a normal Tuesday for my landlady, Mrs Chan.).
