Did the hike from the South Trailhead. Trail can get a little rough at times so make sure you're wearing some tough shoes. Great hike and great views, round trip 3 miles and 922 feet elevation gain.

Epic hike. I did the 4mile RT by starting on north end and going back the same trail. You can loop on the southern trail but I think you have to walk on the highway and that's not a fun ending to a hike.

I didn't think the fog was gonna give me any view of the beach, then it started breaking through more and more. So be patient! One couple left before me who apparently didn't get any view. If they waited 30 more minutes they would have seen this!! (See attached photo)

Amazing hike especially when the sky is clear. Our kids, 6 & 10 hiked it twice, now and two years ago. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

Neahkahnie is an absolute must if you’re in the area. A very short hike compared the huge payout at the top. One of the most incredible viewpoints on the coast.

I think it’s really cool how much elevation you can get so close to the ocean. Truly feels like you’re on top of the world. Bonus if you can time it to be up there for sunset - super magical.

Recommend taking the southern approach - this is the more common way to get to the summit.

Great trail hike! Loved the roots of the trees as we climbed zig zaging the way to the glorious top! I also like the flatter side option that is beside the trail on alot of the way if you want.
We had a misty day with no "view" but to feel the mist on my face after the hike was just the thing I needed!

Too gorgeous. Too stunning. Was my favorite sight of the entire trip, and that is saying a lot because each and every view we got in Oregon was amazing. The hike up gives you a taste of an Oregon forest where Bigfoot feels likely to pop out.

This is a perfect hike! About 2.5 miles each way. The way up is pretty much all up hill with a number of switch backs, but the trees are amazing and most of the trail is shaded. The view at the top is unbeatable. Wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for a lot of mud!

Great Hike. We went a few hours before sunset in May and the hike was gorgeous. Slightly muddy, similar to Cape Lookout. I suggest bringing at least a water bottle and a snack for the top. Apple and pepperoni stick is my go to.

Moderate level hike and beautiful view from the top of the hill. The climb to get to top hasn’t any signs and be a little careful if you are with toddlers. Great getaway place. There were these tiny fruit-flys biting us all the while we were on the peak . The hike too us almost an hour one way . Don’t forget to stop by hug point recreational area by the beach on 101 few miles away north, the sunset from here is amazing.

A bit muddy in spots but nice trail. I used my hiking pole to bushwhack the overgrowth in a few spots in the bottom half of the trail.
I totally missed the 180 deg turn near the top and kept going straight, trying to scramble under and over the downed trees. Oops.
View at the top was spectacular. No fog /low clouds while I was there.

South trail is beautiful and short with rest periods of walking. Definitely for families.. just follow the painted trees. Try to go when it's sunny or partly cloudy.

Easy/Moderate hike
Parking on 101s early to get parking
There is no space for people to sit at the summit when it gets crowded !

Mostly easy hike, except at the end which is a steep climb. The view is amazing, especially on a bright sunny day!

This is my favorite trail in the area. The further up the mountain you go, the easier it becomes. If you don't like the heat, hit the trail early like 7am. By noon it tends to get muggy. We got engaged here so I might be biased....

Great view from the summit of this mountain. Good hiking shoes you don't mind getting muddy and /or dusty recommended.

Even though this hike is in my backyard I never get tired of the view from the top. We hike up at least once a year.

from out of town, wanted to check out a cool hike in oregon. the hike is longer that it recommends or says it would take... however, i did find it highly enjoyable as the view was definitely worth it. me and my family went on this hike and we took little mini pit stops every few kilometres. we are beginners so we found it very long but it was very relaxing. at the top of the hike it was so beautiful the view was amazingly breathtaking. 10/10 i would do it again but maybe with more preparation.

My favorite hike in this area of the coast. The trail is challenging with lots of tree roots and fall trees, muddy obstacles depending on the season, a pretty good elevation gain that is never too steep with the exception of the last 100 yards that is pretty much a climb to the summit. Once upon the summit the view is spectacular and well worth the challenging terrain that brought you here.

Beautiful hike, unfortunately was cloudy and we couldn't appreciate the view.
