Collier Cove Nature Preserve

Beautiful views. Trails are either uphill or downhill. Not much flat level land. If you're up for a vigorous hike with nice wooded scenery, this one's for you!

Great trails - short hike but the hills give you serious workout bang for time spent. Free to use and reasonable rates if you accidently pull into premium parking. Bring your applecore and albacore for snacks.

Beautiful trails tucked back behind a residential area. The sign is NOT KIDDING about these trails being rigorous. It's been a while since I've been on even a short hike, admittedly, so I'm out of shape. That said I would not reccomend this hike for beginners. I started Trillium trail, thinking the shorter hike would be better but the steep incline you see at the beginning continues for a good 5 minutes or so (depending on how fast you hike, obviously). There is a bench at the top of the hill, which was a lovely place to sit, catch my breath, and enjoy a very nice view. Next time I think I'm going to try Walnut Way, as it looks like it has less of an incline, at least to start with.

This was a beautiful walk. The scenery is amazing. In my opinion they should add a zipline to the power line. Perfect slope.

Easy to moderate hiking trails all loop back to the parking lot.

A wonderful place, located perfectly in a nice and relaxing spot close to the nature preserve but also close to grocery stores and restaurants. Very clean and an amazing interior!

Nice small trail system at the top of a lil mountaintop. You drive to the top and park in a large dirt parking lot. The hike has 3 short loops you can connect to do a good distance. We hiked for an hour and didn't do all three of the loops. You can start uphill or downhill and while it is a little steep in some parts it also doesn't feel that hard while hiking down but it was a good climb back to the top.

Sign says park closes at dusk. Not a lot of people on the trails and pretty secluded.

Good place for exercise hike or trail running. Not amazing views as so many trees are there, but there are several loops and uphill and downhills that you can go as short or as long as you like depending on the exercise you want. The uphill can be pretty steep, and if it's been raining, the trail will have slippery mud. Lots of benches for resting though if you need.

Well groom trail that is a hidden treasure with stacked loop options. Capture a photo of the trail map before you hike.

A lovely hidden gem of a hiking park here in south Asheville! Not a ton of trails and they're steep but what's here is well maintained and marked with some beautiful views!

This is a hidden gem in the south side of Asheville. The park was empty and provided a great place to meet a friend for a short, but strenuous hike after work.

When you don’t have much time but want to acquire some elevation, this is the place!

I hike here often. The trails are well maintained and offer a nice and local reprieve from the day-to-day.

A lot of change in elevation. Several trails. Trillium is the easiest with, in April, blooming Trillium.

Nice little walk in the woods. No grand views but nice to have a walk in nature in the neighborhood.

Steep but easy well marked trails. It was a nice walk to get back in the swing of things at the end if a long cold winter.
