Johanna’s team catered my mom’s 90 th birthday celebration. They were the best. Every single one of the 16 guests at dinner agreed. The team of Johanna and Tina and Kelli came in a set up quietly and effortlessly. They were a part of the celebration from cocktails through piano concert and dessert. Their presence was so lovely. The meal was spectacular. They made special request ambrosia salad and stunning whitefish and beef short ribs. Wine glasses were never empty. The kitchen was perfectly cleaned. Everything was served with grace. Appetizers were circulated. We all focused on our beloved Mama and they did the rest. We highly recommend them. Many thanks !!!

I hired Johanna after our first caterer was giving me the run-around. I had NO IDEA how easy and effortless the process could be. Her whole team showed up, professional and confident and then they didn't need any direction from me (the bride).

The food was RAVED about (even our vegan attendee said it was amazing and appreciated having elevated, unique alternatives). We had attendees from over 900 miles away attendees and I was determined to provide them with the best meal they would have while in the OBX. Thank you Johanna and team for making that possible!

Everything was amazing, down to the desserts. We chose to use their hummingbird cake as our wedding cake (honestly I had decision fatigue and the $50 for the cake was unbeatable). And it was well worth it! We later found out it was vegan and gluten free which was the "icing on the cake" (pun intended).

A few weeks later, and I'm still thinking about that crab stuffed flounder...
I think the cafe is currently closed to focus on catering, but I hope it opens back up so if we come down for our anniversary every year, we can have it!

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Johanna and her team catering our wedding. During our tasting as we were working out a menu, Johanna carefully listened to everything we said—accommodating my food allergy and even agreeing to try something new for our wedding. (pulled pork with the apple butter sauce—people couldn’t stop talking about it!) Through the planning process her team communicated effectively and on wedding day they impressed all around. The food was SPECTACULAR—it impressed ALL of our guests. From appetizers to salads to brownie bites, people could not get enough! The small touches like separate meals for kids and dietary restrictions also made everyone feel included. Her staff was also top notch—personable, professional, and all around just a great time. 100% recommend you book with her and her team!

A stylish café with slightly upscale options for breakfast and brunch. Enjoyed a tasty Black Forest ham and eggs Benny with my family this morning. My mother ordered stuffed French toast which was flavorful and fluffy. All dishes come with a side of fingerling potatoes which were well seasoned. A nice culinary find and refreshing respite from the summer rain.

I have been coming to the Outer Banks for almost three decades. My family and I have travelled all over the island, visited many restaurants and naturally have our favorite places. So, when it came time for my wife and I do pick our catering for our destination wedding, we were unsure where to turn and honestly the pressure was on to live up to the standard of some of our favorite places. I can honestly say that Johanna's food and overall experience blew our expectations out of the water and her food was absolutely unbelievable. Some of our family had been to the OBX many times and some had come for the very first time for our wedding and all of us agreed, Johanna's dining experience was one of the highlights of the entire wedding week!! We had Johanna's cater the rehearsal dinner, wedding dinner, and post-wedding brunch and honestly we could not get enough. Everything was of the highest quality, fresh, and so tasty. Her menu was phenomenal giving us a lot of options to choose from and she had something for everyone! We did a taco bar, pasta bar, and brunch for our three meals and all of them were amazing! Johanna's Cafe is now at the top of the list for our family! On the administrative side, her team was professional, prompt, and so helpful in organizing everything for us since were were coming from out of state. Her wait staff was so courteous, polite, and helpful and you can tell that every single one of them truly cares about your experience with them! We have already said that for our 5th anniversary we are coming back to the OBX and will be using Johanna again. We could not recommend her more and she's the only catering service we will ever use again on the island! We could not thank her enough for all that her and her team did and how truly perfect our experience was!

Great Sunday brunch! One of a kind. Cozy, beautiful room with lots of delicious selections. Stuffed French toast is to die for, but there are many options that are also excellent. Great speciality and regular coffee choices. Don't miss it, highly recommend.

We loved this experience! Food was amazing, service wonderful. They were patient with us and the 7 kids. Even the kids meals were phenomenal. My son is still raving on the Mac and cheese.

Hands down best decision to hire Johanna for our wedding cocktail hour and reception dinner. WOW the food was amazing, we had so many compliments on the service, staff, food and dessert. Quality food was a big deal for us and I cant rave enough about the quality and taste of everything we had. Great job everyone!!

We are so lucky to have had Cafe Lachine for both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding! The Rehearsal was a plated meal for a smaller group of 27 and the staff were extremely flexible and accommodating everything went so smooth and the meals were just delicious. The wedding meal was for 85 people and we choose a buffet style taco bar with salads and we had a late night snack. I can’t say enough good things about The food and staff. Thank you Johanna for making our wedding weekend that much better!

We had them into our outer banks rental house to cook and serve us dinner for a group of 18 of us. Everything was fabulous. Could not ask for better food or experience.

What a unique place with great food! I haven't tried the coffee because they don't serve what I like, but the menu looks great. The portabella stack is delicious as is the tuna wrap! I absolutely love the carrot ginger soup and was sad the last time they sold out. The atmosphere out there is amazing and so comfortable you won't want to leave. My favorite part is their support to other local business! If you are in there area you have to check it out, you'll be pleasantly surprised with how amazing it really is!

My family and I went to Cafe Lachine for brunch.The cafe has a pleasant atmosphere with a colorful chalk wall and a nice dining-in room. The menu is written on the wall and also can be read on a pamphlet for ease of reading. We got an array of food items and a mini key lime pie. All the items were fresh, healthy, and very tasty! Secondly, the meals were not very expensive, ranging from 7-10 dollars. They also have fast service! One thing I really liked was the bookshelf that contains a bunch of fun, healthy cooking foods. This place is vegetarian friendly. I will definitely go back if I have the chance.

Five STARS!! The Service was fantastic! The food was delicious! They worked with us to meet our budget. AND they worked with us to meet our numerous dietary needs!

We had a company retreat in Nags Head with 37 people who had all kinds of dietary needs. We needed Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options along with those meat-eater will eat anything types. Everyone was pleased!!

I would highly recommend Cafe Lachine for your large group needs. They were absolutely fantastic to work with!!!

Everything was very fresh and tasty. The berry iced tea is wonderful. My wife had the chicken salad and she said she could eat it every day. I had a shrimp po-boy and the shrimp was extremely fresh and the garlic roll was great as well.

Stopped in for breakfast before heading back to VA. It took a while to get our food because one of the cooks didn't show up, but due to the wait the owners decided not to charge us. Very classy move. The other tables there got free meals as well. And the food and coffee were great! Extremely friendly staff. Thanks for the meal!!

I just returned from a two week event that Cafe Lachine catered and they did an unbelievable job. Johanna and her staff were great to work with and they managed the impossible feat of accommodating all our needs. We had a group of 40 people including vegans, vegetarians and some serious allergies. For both lunch and dinner they managed to create a menu of delicious, fresh food that everyone enjoyed. Every single person that we interacted with was professional, friendly and a joy to work with .

Thank you Cafe Lachine for making our corporate retreat fantastic...we are all leaving Nags Head 5 pounds heavier and very very happy!

This local café is a great place to get delicious food served by a friendly staff. We ended up coming for breakfast/brunch our entire stay because it was that good. It's family friendly, well maintained, and a great choice for anyone.
