Asahi Japanese Steak & Sushi

If you don’t love this place you’re a uptight. The show is awesome. Oscar is hilarious. The shrimp was perfect the rice was delicious. And ice cream to top it off. We’ve been here over 20 times.

I take my parents here every year for their anniversary & it’s always a fantastic experience. Love me some Hibachi! 🍱🤤😋

Under new management! I hadn't been to Asahi in about a year. Upon our return, we were so glad to see Kevin and "Sue" are the managers (since the 1st week of December)! The food is still great and the prices are good.

Always wonderful whether you want sushi or hibachi staff is kind quick and the food is always magnificent I recommend eating on the sushi side as you can always order whatever you want for a quieter more intimate atmosphere. This time I got the katsudon with fried rice and it was wonderful easily two or three meals worth for me

Absolutely phenomenal.! John our server made sure we had a everything we needed the whole time. Our Hibachi Chef, Thai, was incredibly well trained and cooked all the food in front of us perfectly while carrying on relevant conversations and making us laugh and feel very welcome. I highly recommend this place.! 😊

Had not been here I several years. We were happy to discover it had not changed. Got a table on the Sushi bar side. My sushi was fresh and well prepared. Soup, salad, and chicken was enjoyed by my other half. Good food and good service.

Jack was the best server ever! My group was super chaotic and he was so focused, helpful, and polite! He really cares about his customers! Ten out of ten! 😁

This review is for all the times we’ve eaten there, but not the last. If you’re after good sushi look no further. If you’re after regular to sometimes fantastic hibachi- funny enough this is also the place. I’ve most likely had their early bird sushi 30 times and the hibachi 10. My family absolutely loves sushi and this is THE spot.

Tonight oddly enough I wanted to rate them 1 star. Our waitress couldn’t even bring me a glass for a $11 beer. Our hibachi chef screwed up orders and the only “hibachi” gimmick was the onion train. Toss on top with a beer and glass of water- I still ran out of drink. Waitress literally returned for checks.

Plus side to this evening is saved me a lot on tip, plus I really didn’t need to spend $33 on 3 beers. Thanks for limiting me Asahi waitress!

Great food an atmosphere. We eat here every Christmas Eve on the Hibachi side. Chefs are very friendly and entertaining. Our kids 1,3, and 5 had a blast. Can't wait to co ti ie this tradition for years to come.

Good sushi and friendly chefs. The food 2as of great quality, the rolls were well made and the portion sizes were decent. I did not end up being as full as I normally leave at most sushi places, despite having ordered more than I normally would have. I found prices to be slightly below average, but I probably won't make the drive to come back as it wasn't truly amazing and there are less crazy/unique sushi options than at most places. I would still absolutely recommend this place, and if I lived closer would come back more often.

Food was excellent. Service was pretty good too. We had the aloha roll and dragon roll both were great and very fresh. The size was perfect too. Not too big where you full your whole mouth with one portion. The hibachi shrimp and scallops was delicious too! We will definitely be going back.

Food is always amazing as well and the service very attentive really good food over all a great place to go out to eat with the family

Hands down, the best sushi I've had in all the states. Everything from the rolls to sashimi was above and beyond my expectations!

Update: I've been 8 plus times since my original review and I'm happy to say, they're astronomical sushi is legit!

The hibachi is great, but my wife and I LOVE the sushi!! Super fresh and incredibly delicious. We eat here about once a week, sometimes there and often carry-out. The sushi kitchen is cozy and quiet and makes for a great date night (we have 5 kids, we greatly appreciate quiet spaces 😂).

Food and service are great, and consistency has been for years. The inside could use some updating but that's about it.

Yummy, fun place to eat with our daughter, husband and daughter and our grandchildren, 7,4,2. Super fun and attentive chef from Japan and Alabama. Hilarious!!!!!! Worth every dollar spent to celebrate our 39th anniversary. Love is all around!

Despite all the negative reviews on here which seem to revolve around the hibachi part of the restaurant, I would highly recommend the sushi area. I've been going here for close to 8 years now and absolutely love it! The sushi is consistently delicious, served at the right temperature, and fairly priced. They seem to have one of the largest selections of sushi rolls that I have seen and I've been to many sushi restaurants.

We had an amazing first visit to Asahi! The server and the chef were very friendly and accommodating to our 14 month old daughter. The chef even made her some scrambled egg! We will be back for sure.
