Thursday evening dinner and drinks. We chose to sit in the bar area with self seating. Service was excellent and drinks were great! Pot roast and shepherds pie were excellent. Hot and full of rich flavors. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse which was delicious!

Old school pub feel to atmosphere, dark wood walls, wood floors.
Service was good, but as the restaurant filled up, the servers seemed a little taxed.
Food was good-sized portions and hearty. Pickle chips are spears, breaded lightly and fried crisp. Shepherd pie was cooked well, savory and a good ratio of meat and potatoes and seasonings. Fish and chips were OK, fish was breaded lightly and.fried well, chips were just ok (seemed like packaged) not as crispy or.well done as the fish

Another great pub experience. Very friendly hosts and servers that made you feel like family. Excellent food and beer selection. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town.

It’s our first time to eat here and it’s my husband’s birthday. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The bathroom is also clean. The food taste good. Our waiter Stephan has also good customer service. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely delicious Jerk Chicken Salad. It brought together delightful and complex flavors of Caribbean seasonings, mandarin slices, red onion, over a fresh bed of salad greens. The Atmosphere was warm and full. Despite being abundant, attentive, and friendly, the staff seemed overwhelmed to the point of being ineffective. This was nicely ameliorated by the awesome conversation with two ladies (soon to be commissioned as Ensigns) seated next to me.

I wish I could give it 6 stars. There just isn't any other place like it. I've never been to the old county but I've heard from those who have that say the Guinness here pours like it does there.

Went to Galway Bay for lunch and it was wonderful. As authentic an Irish Pub as I've seen in the states. We were seated promptly and the ambiance is just terrific. Traditional Irish music was playing. We ordered the fish and chips, half sandwich with tomato whiskey soup , and we started off with the corned beef poppers. Everything was so delicious. The fish was perfectly crisp and airy, not too greasy or flimsy. Same can be said about the corned beef bites. The sandwich was loaded with Irish cheese and bacon. The tomato whiskey soup had a little kick to it and a robust flavor. Paired perfectly with the sandwich. The beer was also ice cold and delicious. Shout out to Brian, our server. He was awesome. Kind , attentive, and courteous! If we're ever visiting Anapolis again, Galway Bay will be one of our first stops!

Loved the Irish breakfast, great staff. Irish Black and White Pudding were cooked perfectly. I felt like I was in the old sod. Very cool cocktails. Atmosphere was perfect. I can't say enough good things. I will definitely go back.

Loved this place on a Saturday afternoon
We had corn beef poppers and a beet salad
Wish we had more time to try the lamb cheesecake!

The staff was fabulous!
Love the rich, dark woods of the furniture!
Try a flight!

We'll be back!

Don't let the quaint, modest exterior deceive you - Galway Bay is one of the most pleasant and affordable restaurants to have a meal out with family or friends in Downtown Annapolis.

Our first time here, we came with a large group, and ordered a bunch of appetizers and small dishes to share: the corned beef poppers, wexford potato cakes, baked brie, spinach & artichoke dip, Irish potato leek soup.

The older gentleman near the entrance was very kind and welcoming, and we were promptly seated. Our waitress was also very patient and accommodating, and gave great recommendations to my indecisive group.

As far as the appetizers go, the poppers were very flavorful and were paired with a good sauce. The potato cakes were almost identical to East Asian "aloo chop"; essentially, mashed potatoes mixed with other vegetables and fried - not my thing, but the taste was there. The baked brie was fantastic - the honey cut through the richness of the cheese, and solidified it as my favorite appetizer. As per my sister, the dip was alright - nothing outstanding, but it does the job. Finally, for the soup, we were surprised - rather than being thin, as though made with a stock base, it's consistency rather resembled a less viscous mash with small pieces of leek inside. Add some black pepper on top and it's pretty good.

As for our main courses, we ordered the lamb cheesesteak and a couple orders of the pot roast and fish & chips. If you're feeling something simpler, the cheesesteak is great; the lamb lends to a slightly gamier taste than beef would and was solid. The pot roast was fantastic, with the beef just falling apart and the veg being fork tender. The fish n chips were nice and crispy on the outside and just right on the inside.

The crab dip boule is also great if it's available.

We came here twice in January of 2023, on the 1st and the 28th.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was amazing, the whole place was probably the closest thing to an Irish pub I've experienced in the states.

Tried the Mac n cheese Shepards pie which was so good! Definitely a big portion. We also tried the smashed peas and the dessert special the eggnog pumpkin pie. The waitress then gave us a sampling of the eggnog they sell at the place which has quite a kick! Great service and everyone enjoyed their food. I would love to come back and try out more of the food they have on the menu.

I'm told this is the spot where Johnnies come to cavort and discuss the materials from the day's reading. I was impressed with the whiskey selection and the ample craft beers available for sipping. We did the oysters and mussels and were pleased with our choice. Just wish we could have been given more bread to sop up the juices.

Everyone was so nice. Our server was so helpful and gave great recommendations. The vibes were immaculate and so cozy. And the food. Let me tell you. The food? INCREDIBLE! Literally I just want to eat there every day forever. The turkey cottage pie was a delight and maybe my favorite of what we ordered but the pot roast was also incredible. We also got the jerk chicken app and it was delicious. The rosemary dressing was to die for. I saw so many people getting fish and chips and I think next time I might have to try that. No shortage of good food to be had

Showed up right when the dinner hit and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table for 6 of us, which wasn't bad at all. The wait staff was great and very quick with everything. The food delicious. My family loved the curry sauce for the fries.

OMGOSH! We attended a wedding in Annapolis last Spring and had a couple of days to explore. The fish that we had at Galway Bay was THE BEST batter fried fish we have EVER had! ANYWHERE! The fries were “good” but because they put the fish on TOP of the fries, they got soggy, I’m afraid. We loved the distinctive way they cut them but all they need to do is serve them on the side! But OMGOSH! That fish!!!!!!!!! We live in GA and want to go back! We have been craving that fish for a year!😢

This is my favorite Irish bar in Annapolis. Great happy hour prices on beers/wines/drinks with good food as well. Staff always greets with a smile and is happy to freshen up your drink. Wintertime eggnog is a must try. Huge selection of whiskeys for those who are inclined.

Traditional Irish fare paired with cozy atmosphere and great staff! All the traditional dishes are superb. On this trip, I ordered the pot roast, and my companion had the fish and chips. I highly recommend both. We started with Guinness (as you do), and I finished the meal with a pot of strong black Irish tea (that's how I was raised) A shout out to Maggie for wonderful, attentive service! My favorite place in Annapolis. Don't forget to order the soda bread!

An authentic Irish pub. The fish and chips were one of the best I've had in Maryland, crunchy shell and flavorful fish. The salmon is quite good! A must have are the Cornbeef Poppers on the appetizers menu!! In my picture I show one sliced through. The poppers' dipping sauce is tangy and is a perfect match with the cornbeef.

Atmospher/ aesthetic: perfect
Food: tasty
Drink selection: wide variety and high quality.

Overall this experience was perfect. We came in a Friday evening and this place was packed, every employee there was up to their ears in work, so much so that who appeared to be the manager had taken a firm step in helping through the rush, love to see that.
We were sat quickly with our reservation and the wait staff was still reasonably fast and very friendly.
Got to the food and it was definitely noteworthy, our table had a variety of dishes all of which were perfect.
Very heavy cuisine so you have to be in the mood for it but boy is it good
