Olives A Greek Kitchen

Lunch today at Olives in Manteo with my mom and brother. Was full but only a short wait (3 minutes). Seated next to the window with a beautiful view of the harbor. Staff was super friendly. Ordered the Greek lemon chicken soup for my mom and the Mezede platter for all as appetizers. The soup and the platter were delicious. My mom ordered the Spanakopita which came with a nice salad. My brother and I both ordered the falafel gyro. The spanakopita was delicious and the falafel gyros were awesome. For desert we shared a coconut bread pudding. Normally I don’t order bread pudding, but that changed after today. The bread pudding was so awesome that we ordered more to take home. Overall, the view, the staff, the food, and especially the coconut bread pudding made this a great experience. If I find myself in Manteo again, a meal at Olives will be a must. Thank you Olives!

Went in expecting to eat a"better than average" gyro, instead had the chef specials and were blown away!

Amazing fresh food, unbeatable view of the marina, and the most friendly staff. My white bean salad was HUGE and the produce was so fresh and flavorful. It tasted like it came from someone’s garden. Don’t forget the Nutella baklava at the end!

Food was absolutely delicious. Third time there. My only complaint would be that it's a bit loud. That's why I gave the 3 stars for atmosphere.

We got the specials and loved everything. You really won’t find any other food like this in the area. The kitchen was open faced so you could see the preparation and food being made. All workers in this restaurant were kind and courteous. This was just overall such a great dining experience for us.

Wonderful little place, very busy, but worth the wait. Authentic Mediterranean food. So absolutely delicious.

This is the best Greek restaurant I've ever been to! It puts all the Greek places back home to shame. Very high end, great views indoors, also seating outside. From the wine and Bellinis, to the gazpacho starter, to the lamb dishes and dips, everything we tried here was so refreshing and absolutely perfect! I could tell the staff had passion and really cared about the business. They were so friendly and good to be around, and it was reflected not just in the relaxing atmosphere, but the food was shown just as much care and pride. It was everything a Greek restaurant should be, I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Amazing food!! I love Greek food and this didn’t disappoint! It was just a bit noisy inside but everything was great!

Even with only annual visits ya ya remembers us and takes time to visit!

So delicious. I had the Cuban gyro and a side of the rosemary bread load. I never got tired of either. The gyro was a hefty size, but not too big. We sat outside which was shaded with patio umbrellas. Hope to come again on next years vacation.

We had the Greek salad with gyro meat, the classic Gyro, the watermelon gazpacho soup and the chicken Artemis. It was all fantastic but the chicken Artemis was especially wonderful. Finished with baklava cheesecake and Nutella baklava - to die for. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely go back if we're in the area again.

Omg, Y'all, this is a very, very special place. Wife and husband, she greets and serves, he's the chef. She is warm and kind and full of great energy. His food is outfeakinstanding! Flavorful, healthy and very pretty. Food and atmosphere snob that I admit I am, you will be well fed and sustained to eat at Olive's. Best salmon cakes and salad! Definitely! And egg free hollandaise, really! Thank you so much.

I firmly believed that I could never hope to enjoy another culinary experience again after visiting Olives a Greek Kitchen and having the Chicken Artemis and a slice of their Baklava Cheesecake for my birthday lunch. I was so inspired by my meal that I attempted to recreate the Chicken Artemis at home and ended up with something that, while truly fantastic, could never hope to measure up to my muse. I will continue to tirelessly toil away in the kitchen with hopes to concoct something that might bring me a fraction of the satisfaction that my fleeting time at Olives A Greek Kitchen did until the process drives me to madness, assuming it hasn't already.

If you visit this establishment, I recommend ordering the Chicken Artemis and a slice of Baklava Cheesecake.

We came on the last day of vacation at peak time- around 1. The service was a bit slow but I don’t think our waitress stopped for a moment to even catch her breath- the place is tiny but SO busy. Even though it was a bit slow (perhaps not enough staff that day), our waitress was wonderful and quick to bring everything from our drinks, water for our pups outside and more napkins. I hope that those who read about the service plan accordingly and still visit this place!

We got the Mezede platter to start and wow! My husband and I both love Green food and this was SO good! So many lovely tastes and vegetarian for my hubby. We were basically full from this and even thought we could have just gotten small salads to go with it but we’d already ordered.

I got the chicken gyro and my husband got the falafel. We have some awesome Greek and Mediterranean spots near us, but we will be talking about the food for awhile! Definitely the best Greek food we’ve ever had. It was a lot of food and I had leftovers for the next day.

We had non alcoholic drinks, appetizer and mains and spent $62 which included a 20% tip. I think that was very reasonable considering the amount of food we ordered.

Overall, wonderful spot and excellent food with friendly staff. Please tip your waitresses! They work hard and it’s not their fault if the restaurant is a bit short staffed.

Sat down for a wonderful lunch, all of the food was incredible. I've been to Athens before and the food was just as good! We had the souvlaki platter, the keftedes (Greek meatballs) were likely the best I've ever had-- perfectly seasoned and fatty without being greasy. Also the watermelon gazpacho soup was unique and so refreshing on a hot day. The service was nice and attentive, plus the outdoor seating made for a charming atmosphere. The baklava was to die for!

So let me say this restaurant ruined food for me! I can never have better food anywhere else now because Olives Greek was the best food I have ever had!
Every single thing was cooked with LOVE!
I have never had anyone cook rice that fluffed,not soft not hard not sticky just perfect! The cod fish with the rosemary touch and the feta and garlic butter to top it off, the beets Greek salad,the dip, the French onion dip and chips never had French onion dip that good either! The falafels, the BAKALAVA will finish you off! I am crying! And the CLEANLINESS PLUS THE ATMOSPHERE. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐I live in Virginia and if I had it in me to go eat there everyday I would! Thank you for loving what you do and doing it with love!

Best spot for lunch in Mateo. Everything fresh and delicious.

Holy cow was this place good. I could have eaten my weight in the warm pita and fresh hummus. The gyro hit all the right flavor points and the tzatziki was probably the best I've ever had. I can't recommend this place enough.

Friendly staff and delicious Greek menu made for a wonderful experience for my wife and I. My only regret is that we couldn't enjoy every item available. The choices we made were extremely satisfying though. Eventually we will return and work our way through the entire menu.

We are locals, and this is one of my absolute favorites places to eat. You can not go wrong with ordering the gyros, but they have so many other delicious options as well. Recently they had a pork belly gyro on special, it was phenomenal! Baklava is one of my favorite desserts they make fresh, but I have tried the others to 👍 There is not one place in the Outer Banks that serves a homemade sangria like Olives! Make sure you try one of these, you will not be able to stop with just one! 5 stars for food and friendly service ❤
