My first (of what I hope will be many) experience with Altamont Auto Specialist was amazing! Owner Zach is great. You will leave there feeling that, not only did you get great service and a great deal… but that your auto mechanic is also genuinely your friend! This guy seriously CARES about you and your car. Zach is awesome! I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee that had a few issues and he was able to diagnose them quickly, called me right away to let me know what they were and how to fix them, gave me a very reasonable quote, AND fixed the car much faster than what I was expecting. He’s professional and explained everything to me in lay terms that I could follow. Would recommend him for any auto work hands down. Thanks again!

I am VERY grateful that I found out about this shop! They helped me in an emergency situation when my '96 Subaru Legacy had the front left axle go out, right before my shift at work! They worked me in between there pre-schedualled appointments, to fix my axle the very next morning! These guys have really impressed me, and do very amazing work, at a VERY economical price. I will ONLY be using these guys as my mechanic, until I move someday from the Arden, NC area!!

Zack has been an absolute blessing to our family. He’s worked on four of our cars over the years, all different kinds and years. He’s honest, reliable, and trust worthy. Couldn’t have asked for a better mechanic and wish he could come with us as we’re moving soon!

One of the best mechanics in town. Zack is my go- to guy, started going there when I lived in Arden, but still go even after moving out to Leicester, on the opposite of town from them. It's the holy trinity of honesty, reasonable prices, and friendly service. Plus they get the work done fast despite only being open 4 days a week and booked up. I don't normally leave reviews online but this place deserves it. I tell my friends and family to go here anytime they mention car problems. Trust this place with my car's life lol

Zach at Altamont Auto Specialist is hands down, one of the best mechanics I have ever worked with, along with his team. I was referred to Zach by a long time client of his and since then have gone back to him about 6 times for all of my beat up old car’s needs. He runs his business in an extremely professional and efficient manner while remaining personable, friendly and helpful. Zach is an honest mechanic who will go above and beyond to find and solve your car’s problems and to work with you on whatever it is you need. Excellent communication, fair and honest pricing, quick repairs, and above all, trust worthy! Zach has helped us out plenty of times and has gone out of his way to make sure that our cars get what they need before leaving his shop. Zach and his team of mechanics are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and efficient. I had SO much trouble finding someone to accurately diagnose my van's troubles dolling out copious time and money that lead nowhere. Altamont Auto fixed everything the first visit! Their pricing is fair and they are an asset to the WNC community. HIGHLY recommend!

My brakes went out and I needed to get back home to Atlanta. I showed up when they opened and Zach was able to fit me in immediately and get me back on the road to get home. Really great customer service, and a great mechanic. Thank you so much to Zach and his team.

I was lucky to hear about Zach and his small crew through a co-worker. He specializes in vans, and I did a lot of work with him. He is truly a stand-up guy - not your average auto mechanic. Zach took the time to walk me through his processes, what he recommended and why. Several times Zach went above and beyond his job, showing what a good-natured human being he is. Zach is super organized and his workshop is clean. He was able to correctly diagnose my car’s problems and fix my car for a very reasonable price. He is good with communication and an honest person. Awesome job! I’ll be coming back!

Best auto mechanic experience out there!!
Zach and his team are so respectful, caring, and professional. Instead of dropping your car off to an endless line like other shops, you make an appointment and the team devotes a full day to make sure your vehicle is dialed in a timely manner. Zach took the time to explain all the repairs and made sure I understood what I was paying for, which as a young women, rarely do I receive that respect in the auto industry. I drive a Subaru Forester 2008 and it was evident how much they knew about this make and model. I live in Asheville and can say the drive is so very worth it.

I've had my share of seedy mechanics in the past so the integrity and high competence of Zach and his crew was welcomed. Zach and his team have taken exceptional care of me. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Asheville area. They communicate very well and make sure your problems are fixed in a timely manner. I have visited Altamont several times now, and have walked out the door happy each time. Zach and his mechanics have fixed an issue on my vehicle which has baffled three other shops and several mechanics. If your vehicle needs some love Altamont is the place to go, hands down.

I've taken my trusty old 2006 Hyundai Tucson here several times and each time I've been super happy with the overall service. Zach is very friendly, which is always a bonus considering some can be gruff and just want you in and out. They're VERY fair and reasonable with their services and, best of all, honest.

I purchased a 2003 Freightliner Sprinter with numerous issues with a few being unusual and complex. I found Zach through a referral from a friend and was told he does great work. Zach not only made the appropriate repairs, he went above and beyond protocol to return the van better than I left it His diagnostic skills, labor, and professionalism are top notch. If you need a mechanic that is tried, true, and stands behind his work this is the man for you!

Zach is a mechanic that knows what he's doing!! I spent a while reading reviews on other mechanics near me( I had a coolant issue with my car) when I brought the car in, he spoke with me both friendly and professionally. He was able to show me the problem and explain his previous experience with it and was able to give me an estimate promptly. His service was great. He had my car completed and fixed while I was at work. When I came to pick it up, he showed me what he serviced, what the problem was, and gave me a VERY fair price for the job. I am very pleased to call him my mechanic if I ever need help with my cars again!! Thanks again Zach!!

Zach is the best mechanic I've ever had. Very reasonable prices, doesn't sell you on fixes you don't need, always takes the time to thoroughly explain what's going on with my car. I recommend him to everyone I know.
