The CEO called me to clarify the policy, it actually has to do with funds dispersing and the time it takes for the check to clear through the bank actually taking 2 days, to include the day to deposit, clear, then disperse, then clear on the seller's side. more clarity up front on this would have helped since I did not have issues with other lawyers in NC. Also, would have helped to get the ALTA earlier, then this wouldn't have been an issue at all. I will update again when everything flushes out.

They would not process my closing due to needing 7 business days to certify a CERTIFIED CASHIERS check. They blamed it on the bank, but that is ridiculous since a certified cashier's check is cash, and i coordinated with the bank and the bank policy is certified checks clear same day funds available. This was on top of waiting till the last minute to process the ALTA.

Not impressed! Not dependable! Didn’t wire my closing amount in a timely manner. I had to call to get them to investigate!

Did a refinance and the bank selected them as a law office. They supposedly wired the payoff to the lender and after almost a month I’m still waiting. They didn’t wire my closing amount in a timely manner and when you called them for information, they are so rude. The person managing the case never responded the emails.

Well this law firm was helping us close on two properties we were purchasing and then fell through last minute due to something in the title search. Terrible communication, and at the end of the day they sent us two fraudulent checks with our earnest money so I cashed them before i knew they were bad and gave the money to the respective parties and now I’m out of a few thousand dollars, their emails don’t work, phone numbers don’t work, the bank can’t do anything for me & I don’t know what else to do. If anyone can help me please reach out. Thanks!

Did a refi. They supposedly wired the payoff to the lender on 1/8. On 1/21 it had not been received. Called new lender and attorney office. Attorney called on 1/24 saying they would look into it. It is now 2/3 and no payoff and no communication from attorneys office. I would look else where for an attorney.

****URGENT ALL CONTRACTORS. Pease be cautious about working with this Firm. I did some contract closing work for Washburn in December of 2019 and have not been paid for my services. I have filed a bar complaint and may have to file a lawsuit to recover my money.

Simple “cash” sale. Bank will not deposit check from Washburn Law!
