Holt Orchards

Such a sweet little spot right on the road, so glad we stopped! Cute little shop where we picked up some Ambrosia apples, cider slushy and the best apple cider cake donuts!! The owner and staff were so friendly and accommodating. Although this is not a “u pick” orchard they were kind enough to let our 3yr old son pick apples. We’ll certainly come back when in the area again!

Came here a Sunday afternoon. I wanted to grab some apple cider donuts while they were in season, so I called ahead to be sure they still had some available. They picked up the phone on the first dial and were super kind and said they could set me some aside.

When I finally got there, the two girls working were so kind in greeting me, asking me if I need any help while looking around :)

The selection of apple items is limited but everything sounded great. I ended up getting a 6-pack of the apple cider donuts, a half a gallon of cider, an apple cider slushie, and a small jar of apple butter.

I paid with card and then went into my car to try one of the cider donuts.

IT WAS DELICIOUS. The last couple of years the cider donuts I’ve bought have been a little dry, not too flavorful, and little bit disappointing, but these were so soft and the cinnamon flavor just melted in my mouth. I finished scarfing down my donut and got out of my car to buy another jug of cider and two more donut packs.

10/10 would make the drive to come down and buy some more apple goodies. I was also stoked to see it’s a women owned business, and was really happy to be able to support the girls :)

Visiting from Florida and they had the honeycrisp apples which are my favorite. So glad we stopped, apples were wonderful. Cute little store with honey, apple butter, candles and other items. Apple butter was also great! Staff and owner so sweet and helpful. Would definitely go back again.

I can't say enough amazing things about this quaint, family-owned apple orchard! Our family drove up to North Carolina for a fall break hoping to escape the heat of Charleston and find an apple orchard that had similar apple cider donuts to the ones I grew up having in Michigan. After looking at Google Reviews, we decided on Skytop and Grandad's because they had so many positive ratings. Well, the line at Skytop was absolutely ludicrous (think the line to see Santa in a Christmas Story but now multiply that ten times), and it was so packed that nothing about it felt special. Alternatively, we were able to get our hands on some donuts at Grandad's (after a 35-minute wait in a long line), but upon trying one in the parking lot, we were all disappointed. Don't get me wrong; they were okay, but they definitely weren't packed with flavor and didn't have the right cake-like texture that I was hoping for. After experiencing two very chaotic atmospheres, I decided to look for an orchard that had far less reviews just to see if I could find a hidden treasure. As you can guess, that's where Holt Orchards comes in! We figured it was only a few minutes up the road, so why not try it? When we pulled up, we were pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't crazy busy like the other two places (though, they DESERVE for it to be crazy busy!). When our family of four walked inside, we were greeted by the owners, who couldn't have been more genuinely friendly people. We purchased a half-dozen donuts and a half of a gallon of cider. We didn't try any in the parking lot mainly because we had a cranky three-year old at that particular moment. Later that evening, my nine-year-old daughter and I sat by the fireplace at our hotel and decided to give Holt's donuts and cider a try. I would give anything if I could've somehow caught our reactions on video and posted it here because they were THAT amazing! We FINALLY found REAL apple cider donuts like the ones I grew up with in Michigan, and the cider was absolutely divine! At that moment, I looked up to see what their hours of operation were because we KNEW that we had to go back to get more before we left town. With that being said, we were lucky enough to go back and snag three dozen donuts and two more half gallons of cider. Honestly, if I had a garage fridge or freezer, I would've bought twice or three times as much! On top of how absolutely mouth-watering their donuts and cider were, Tracy and Todd went above and beyond with regard to their customer service. I won't go into any more detail since I've already written a novel, but they gave my kids the royal treatment and went out of their way (literally and metaphorically) to provide us with excellent customer service. This orchard has my heart because of the owners and, of course, the ridiculous donuts and cider. Please give these folks a chance; you will NOT be disappointed!

Such a cute, convenient little farmstand. Staff were extremely nice and friendly. The only thing they're missing is some picnic tables to devour apple cider donuts immediately instead of having to wait until you get home!

Cider is delicious!!! Very cute store and very friendly. We stopped on our way to Pigeon Forge and had to stop on our way back home for more.

I highly recommend Holt Orchards. We had a very nice experience chatting with one of the owners about "all things apple". We came home with apples, cider and donuts. We'll go back for sure.
