Golden Sun Chinese Restaurant

The food here recently has been better than ever. Lots of flavor and fresh! Delivery is always quick and food is always hot when it arrives.

I’ve dined at Golden Sun a few times and had some takeout on 12/21/23. Somehow every time I go the food is better than it was before, and this time it was absolutely outstanding! For a standard Chinese style restaurant I don’t think it gets better. Yes it’s a bit oily and salty like you would expect from Chinese food but not too much and all was packed with flavor and very freshly cooked. We had combination chicken lo mein and chicken with broccoli. So delicious and exactly what you want when you order Chinese food. The service was great too. Really easy to order from their website and they were so nice and grateful when we picked up the food. If you’re craving Chinese food in Boulder you gotta go here!

Golden Sun is my favorite spot for chicken fried rice and egg drop soup! I’ve been ordering their food for takeout since 2016 when I was in undergrad, and the owners are the nicest people ever! I know they had a rough go during Covid and I’m happy to see they are still around.

I have been coming here for YEARS, and this is by far my favorite Chinese food in Boulder. The owner, Tina, is the sweetest lady ever, and she always makes sure that my order is perfect! She has actually, over the years, shown me a few 'off-menu' items that you can only order if you know what the dish actually is. (I would mention them but I'm not sure if she's comfortable letting the 'secret' out yet haha!)

Weirdly enough, I don't know why, but my favorite thing here is actually their simple steamed pork dumplings. I usually make a little soy/vinegar/garlic sauce to go with it, and man, let me tell you... best dumplings I've had ANYWHERE. They're stuffed to the brim to near bursting, and the flavor is out of this world. I dunno how to describe it. It's very mild, savory, and delicious.

Also her Sweet & Sour Spicy Eggplant. That is my go-to, and I'm not even a vegetarian! That's how delicious it is! To die for.

All in all, please check this place out! They have really good family and lunch specials, too.

This place is what's up. Was calling so many places in Boulder for just a cheap, easy, delicious Chinese takeout on my way home from Eldora mountain and this was absolutely the spot. Got a hold of two others, one didn't have General Tso's chicken, a fairly standard dish, and treated me like I'm an idiot and didn't care about my order, the other didn't even know what General Tso's was. Golden Sun was not only the best customer service but also this food is so good. I drove it home 20 minutes to Westminster and it's still great, will be coming back, 10/10.

I was craving Chinese food after work when I found out my favorite restaurant in Boulder was closed for the night. So I relied on Google to help me find a restaurant.

Golden Sun was close and open late so I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try.

It sits in the corner of the strip mall and is a pretty good sized restaurant.

The menu is pretty extensive with all the traditional Chinese dishes you know and love.

I ordered my favorite dishes, Sweet and Sour Chicken (2nd favorite since they don't do S & S Pork,1st favorite) Pork Fried Rice and Chicken Chow Mein.

I was surprised by the size of the serving on the plate. Definitely enough to eat there and plenty to take home for leftovers. Yum!

The S & S Chicken came in huge chunks served with S & S Sauce on the side. Although each piece of the chicken was significantly sized, it was so crispy on the outside and so tender on the inside.

The Pork Fried Rice had huge chunks of tender pork, egg and nice chunks of onion. Such great flavors.

The Chicken Chow Mein had huge strips of tender chicken & crispy noodles on top. While it was made different than what I'm use to, it was pretty good.

While I was waiting for my food, there were a ton of late night to go orders. Yes, they also deliver and it was obvious that others knew about it too.

While it doesn't replace my favorite go to Chinese food restaurant in Boulder during the day. It could be my favorite for late night. I will definitely be back. It does offer really Fresh and Hot food with a nice variety to choose from and hardy sized servings. A great value for your money.

This hit the spot for me during exam week, it’s exactly what I needed. It was comforting and reminds me of when I was a kid and we’d get American Chinese food for dinner. The owners were really nice and welcoming.

The price point was great and perfect for the amount of food you get. I do wish the orange chicken was a little more orangy and sweeter but it was still good! The shrimp fried rice was good and they give you the big shrimps too. The Chinese donuts were delicious as well.

Restaurant was pretty dirty and completely empty. Ngl kinda had me worried waiting for my food. Took it home cuz it’s mad depressing in there, however, food was really good. Mall food court vibes but better quality. Insane portions. Good stuff.

We came here on a off night, and we were the only ones dining. At first, we were put off, we were served soda in cans and had feared we made a bad choice. Then the food came. All five of us had ordered meals, and by meals, I mean MEALS. Each order could feed two people. Everything was an exceptional value for the amount of good food we got.

I've been getting food from these wonderful people for about 6 years now while working all sorts of shifts on the ambulance. They have always made sure we were full and satisfied. I've had to cancel and move orders due to 911 calls, and they have even been understanding every time. The food is good and so are the people. I recommend grabbing a bite if you are craving Chinese yourself right now.

Service is an afterthought, (better you'd know in advance).

LOVE Golden Sun and the owner, Tina. I order the combo fried rice and fried cheese wontons at least once a week. I place an order online and it's ready in 15 minutes. Good prices, good food, quick service, and huge portions. God bless you all for keeping me fed when I'm too tired to cook :)

I’ve been trying to find a good Chinese place since I moved here almost a year ago and I finally found it. Plus, the food is a bang for your buck! My go to is sweet and sour chicken and my goodnessss theirs is amazing. The breading was not too thick and the chicken just tasted so fresh. The sauce was perfecto too!

I love this place and the people who work here. Go here for your Chinese takeout cravings, they’ve never let me down. Place is immaculate Fr. You can order takeout, dine in, or delivery, it’s sick. They’re sick.

Open Christmas day!! They are fantastic!! I order the schezun vegetable dish and 2 egg rolls. The dish has lots of veggies and lots of spice!! Yes, finally a place that knows how to use spices. The flavor was great the portion was big. They do not use styrofoam to put your food in as this is a plus for me. Prices are good. Ordering was easy, the service was great. Nice people. Highly recommend.

This place gets it right all the time. I appreciate the fact that they have their own delivery service and don't use a 3rd party. Today was hot and fresh. So good! They unfortunately have the same problem every business in America has and can't staff for dine in, but the staff they do have pride themselves on the quality of the food and service they are able to have. Kelly is great.
