Waneka Lake Park

One of my fav lakes in the area...
It's my happy place to just sit and take a break...
To look at the garden...
Play some bball...
Paddleboard and paddleboat...
and a great way to celebrate the holidays and seasons...

Beautiful park with a big Waneka lake on one flank. This lake is great for fishing but paddle boating or other boating activities are prohibited. The park is well appointed with lides swings for kids to enjoy their time. The lake side trail is great for a walk or jog with your furry friends. This park also popular among the locals for weddings or small parties. They have plenty of parking and restrooms inside the park.

Great place to get your steps in if you're in the area. Pretty view and lots of exercise stretch stations along the 1 mile jaunt around the lake.

Neighborhood lake with nice groomed hard packed dirt trails, great for walking dogs, jogging, bird watching, playing pickle, basketball, workout stations, kids playground, boathouse, groomed grass and more. Well maintained park that is super family friendly and hands down one of the best parks around. Used year round by the residents.

I have been coming to Waneka since I was young. It's such a beautiful place to walk around if you need a little peace and quiet. There is also Frisbee golf on one side and a park on the other.

Great walk! It’s so nice to have the gorgeous mountains in the background on this peaceful, easy stroll. Long enough that you can get a workout in, but easy enough that you don’t need to break a sweat if you don’t want to. Definitely hope to come back many times, especially in the different seasons!

Beautiful place to walk and let the kids play, although it can get very packed on the nicer days. The walking trail is great for those looking to get a little exercise. They also have small stations randomly around the park for workout. In the summer they offer boating for nice romantic dates. And a dock to go out on and watch the sun set or rise.

Love this place... beautiful lake with mountains on the backdrop. Family walk around the lake (1.5 miles I think) , flat and very doable... exercise machines spread thru out the trail...fun for kids to try them all. Rest rooms, BBQ pits, tables and benches. A great place to picnic.

Long walking path 1.5 miles around ,nice playground, picnic tables, beautiful lake. Handicapped and regular parking available. Paddle boats. Bathrooms. Very nice place.

Always one of my favorite local spots to check out! You get an awesome view of the front range from the lake and you get to see a healthy ecosystem with the plants and animals that live here. The path also offers different workout activities such as a rope climb, parallel bars, a beam jump, amongst many others, which are all located along the walking path. Which is helpful for anyone trying to get into shape! The path also has a park and boat house.

Such a cute little park to walk around. Groomed trail with little exercise stations, pickle ball courts, basketball, disk golf and fishing for large mouth bass. It's about 1 mile around and there's markers for that too.

One of my all time favorite walks. They have exercise stations all around the trail. There are clean restrooms so drink your water. The view is spectacular. There's picnic tables and a kids park too. There's pedal boats in the summer and 2 different parking lots.

Here for the first time! It was a beautiful area, nice walk around the lake. Plus stop at the farm to buy some local produce and other Colorado products. Plus they do a CSA (community sponsored agriculture)!! The park is lovely place for families!!

Lots of shade for the kiddos and plenty of grass to run on too. The swings and everything else is in good shape. There are three places with grills available for parties (and they’re quite close to the park).
If you come here for a run or a bike ride, there’s a paved trail around the lake of about 1.7 mi long.
There’s a boat house offering pedal boats and paddling yoga. They’re not the nicest people on earth, so don’t expect too much.

I walk here a lot because I live nearby, and it never gets old. Scenic views, a nice loop trail, exercise stations, playground, sheltered picnic benches, bathrooms, birdwatching, a Frisbee golf course... basically everything you could want in a park :)

Great walking/running trail, beautiful mountain views, birds and trees. The fitness stations are nice and provide unusual work-out options. Clean bathrooms with running water, water fountain. Ample parking in two lots. Don't miss this local gem, the City does a great job with this special place.

Love this park and lake! Looking forward to playing disc golf here but really enjoy the path around the lake. Easy to push a stroller, ride a bike, or for kids to walk. Great playground near the parking lot, ample parking, and grassy areas to just hang out.

A great place for families, groups, or even individuals to come and enjoy a wide variety of activities. There is a large playground for kids of all ages, a large field for group activities, pavilions with picnic tables, BBQ grills, and the boat house offers watercraft for rent during the warm season. A large trail circles the lake for those looking for a nice walk or light jog. There are two parking lots which offer ample parking as well.

One thing to note: outside watercraft are not allowed as this is considered a drinking water reservoir. So this is not the place to bring your personal jet-skis, boats (remote or otherwise), or anything else really.

Waneka Lake Park is the focal point of Lafayette. It has a beautiful and maintained path around the lake offering scenery in every direction. It has a nature center that’s often open on the weekends and a bird watching area on a nearby marsh. It has a fun and shaded playground. There are often exercise classes happening and soccer practices happening in the fields. There is also a disc golf course. There is a basketball court that isn’t as well kept as the rest. In the summer you can rent paddle boats and kayaks from the boathouse.

Update 10/2022: The new 4 Pickleball courts are often being used and are a lot of fun.

This place is beautiful! Also has tons of Pokestops for Pokemon Go! I feel lucky to live in Colorado when we have such beautiful places like this! It would also be a good place for kids because they have a jungle gym and swings. I definitely recommend this place.
