The Tandem Connection

These guys are great!! My son wanted to take a 35 mile tour of the Montour Trail; but, I don't own a bike for myself. I called Tandem; and, since I've not been on a bike in thirty years, they recommended an e-bike for me: so I could keep up with my boy. It was a great recommendation and we both had an awesome time. A great local, family business. Highly recommended.

To me one of the friendliest trail businesses on the entire Montour Trail.
Candy bars Reese’s peanut butter cups, Gatorade’s and water and lots of bags of chips, they have hot food but it wasn’t open or prepared yet. Such cool bikes so many bikes for sale right now they look packed wall-to-wall with stock.

Stopped by in need of two repairs while cycling the Montour loop. Super helpful, nice staff saved the day and got me back on the trail. Great shop.

As a local trail user I have ridden by Tandem more times than I can count, but never stopped in, not needing an immediate repair to get home. Wow... have I ever been missing out! Tandem Connection is a full-blown bike shop with a great inventory of bicycles, accessories, anything you would need for your ride.

I have been looking for touring bike and was finding very little inventory around Pittsburgh, even going so far as Adamsburg. I found my bike at Tandem! Dave, who runs the bike side, not only had touring bikes, but several different sizes to achieve the perfect fit, and he has more than one each so I didn't feel pressured to make a decision. The trail is right there to use for test runs creating a perfect setup for making an informed decision. He was patient, making adjustments to seat and bar height to ensure I was riding the bike as I would be on long rides. I purchased the bike and couldn't be happier!

Together with his brother Dan, who runs the food side, make a welcoming, friendly destination with great service!

Do yourselves a favor and stop by, whether for a new bike, service on your existing bike, or just for a slice and a cone!

The Tandem Connection is great! They offer a good selection of rental 🚲 bikes at a great location along the Montour Trail. The shop also serves a variety of food and treats (ride or run far enough and you’ve earned ice cream🍦 !) and can hook you up with water if you leave your bottle at home. Even if you don’t need to rent or store bikes, the ample parking makes this location a perfect one for meeting your running, walking or biking buddies for a trail excursion!

Phenomenal service! Great ice cream, food and a huge bike selection. They go above and beyond for their customers!!

I stopped here for lunch both yesterday and today at about 3/4 into a 40 mile ride. I had the pulled pork sandwich on Texas Toast and it was delicious! Next time - ribs! Yum...

Tandem Connection is always been a wonderful place for buying or having your bike repaired or even grabbing a quick bite to eat.

We were so lucky to find this place right beside the Montour Trail. My husband had wanted to buy padded bike shorts before our ride and the big box store we happened to stop in the day beforehand didn't have them. Luckily, Tandem Connection did, as well as many other accessories! The ice cream shop and grill is right there as well. What a great spot right on access route to the trail!

One of my favorite places! Hailey and her father the owner are the nicest people you could ever meet! So glad I have found this place. They also have delicious ice cream after you bike on the trail. Visit here a few times a week.

We just had 2 bikes serviced. Everyone was friendly and the prices and turn around time was very reasonable. Highly recommend. Regarding the very few leaving questionable feedback here, you need to look in the mirror and are very likely the type of miserable people who are never satisfied no matter how hard a small business tries. This again is a nice small business that has been good to many families, including ours. Thanks tandem!

My wife and I are just getting back into biking. Stopped in on Sunday and met Dave. He spent quite a bit of time with us and brought us up-to-date on current bikes. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Felt very comfortable and left with two bikes. Great shop and reasonably priced. Nice to deal with the small business owner!

Great place! I've passed it several times while in the area but hadn't stopped in till today. So glad I did! I browsed around and met the owner, David, who was very helpful. He took the time to give me a little history lesson on the place and explain what all they have going on there and the different items they offer. The selection of bikes is great and priced very reasonably! It's very unique and it has the great feel of the small bike shops I remember visiting as a kid, much missed in today's big corporate bike stores and box chains. Definitely looking forward to going back and bringing the family next time for some ice cream and bike riding on the Montour trail!

Nine of us, kids and adults, were riding on the trail. We stopped for BBQ and ice cream. It was delicious, reasonable and super pleasant. One of the bike guys noticed my husband trying to fix my rear break. He stepped in and solved the problem quickly. It was so refreshing!! Great service!!! Love this place.

The Tandem Connection offers, sales, rentals and bike repairs. Their prices are competitive compared to other sales and service shops in the area. The have top notch customer service. I had a wheel re-spoked and true-d as wheel as had new tires put on recently. Turn around time on the work was quick and the guy just gave me some spare spokes when I asked about sizing to buy a few spares for myself. The staff will spend time with you if you have questions or want to look through the selection of bikes. They kindly answered any questions I had and we're just generally pleasant people. Will be going back for any future maintenance needs. To top it off, they sell some delicious ice cream and have some food from a vendor regularly. Super conveniently located right along the Montour Trail, I definitely would recommend.

We've been storing our bikes there for a couple of years and try to ride on the trail every chance we get. The location is great, and the staff is so friendly and very quick even when they are swamped with customers. Their rentals are great and after renting a bike, I loved it so much I bought one. Even if you don't bike, they've got a great little shop with BBQ, snacks, drinks, and ice cream.

Love this place - especially for a 2 scoop waffle cone after a long bike ride in the trail (or in the middle).

The cold drinks are super convenient, AND they have bikes and parts too!

They also rent bikes in case you don't have your own set of wheels - or for outta towner's.

After not riding a bike for over ten years, some friends and I met up for a ride on the Montour trail. I rented from here and it was a great experience. The employees are friendly and the prices are very reasonable. That it’s right on the trail makes it even better.
