First time visiting Stowe and found this restaurant on my first night and went back all three nights I was in town. Bartenders were amazing. They are attentive to detail and care about what they are making. The food was also amazing. This restaurant is now in my top 5 of all restaurants that I have been to in my life.

Walking down Main street Stowe with no plan in mind, we heard the din of activity coming from the Plate. Even at just before 6pm the bar was almost completely full and it was clear this was a popular spot for locals and those in the know to pop in and enjoy a 5 a 7.
The ambiance is warm and inviting, a bit on the dark side...although they had nice window views of Main street (see photos). And the service is matching in friendliness. Our meal consisted of Little Gem Salad (tasty and fresh), Pan Seared Salmon (very good), Cauliflower Steak (excellent) and a side of Brussel Sprout Slaw (wonderfully...I will be trying to make this at home). Enjoy!

A true 5/5 experience. What stood out to me the most was the host staff. They made sure we were well taken care of, with a drink in hand while we waited to be seated

The food was fantastic

I had a beer so no cocktail comment

The waitress was great

The bannana dessert was super good.

I only wish they were not out of the Korean chicken wings

We found this restaurant while walking downtown & loved it so much the first night we went back again after bailing on a disappointing 10 minutes at the Tipsy Trout (see TT review). The bartenders are awesome they remembered us from 2 nights prior. We sat at the bar both times & the service was great. The bartenders found time to chat while making their special cocktails. The food was excellent, good wine choices and it was obvious they appreciate the business and took care of their customers. Prices were reasonable too. Definitely on our repeat list.

Very nice evening of delicious food while watching the pros in the kitchen preparing the various dishes. Particularly liked the grilled pork chop over brussell sprout slaw and apple butter paired nicely with a glass of wine. Shout out to the bartender and his Rob Roys served up! Very good!

Reservations are recommended here but we were able to find a couple of seats at the bar. Nice selection of craft cocktails and beers. Worth noting that the gentleman making our cocktails was no ordinary bartender ... he was an artist. We enjoyed a cheddar souffle for an appetizer followed by bar steak and gnocchi entrees - both were excellent. I highly recommend the banana pudding for dessert (their signature) ... it is simple but so good!

I got the grilled pork chop and it was delicious. The sauce complemented it well and the pork chop was cooked well. I saved room for the banana pudding which was delightful. I highly recommend going.

If you plan on going and sitting at a table, make sure to make reservations ahead of time. If not, the bar is opening seating.

We went in for cocktails and let me tell you, Brian is an excellent bartender ( mixologist in my opinion ) he’s so attentive. The drinks he made with Mezcal were decadent… We had a few appetizers and they were delicious!!! You won’t be disappointed!!! Trendy spot with a nice vibe to it.

Really fun little bistro. Limited menu but what they do- they do well. Coconut mussels, soufflé and scallop apps are fantastic. The Sea Bass was crispy on the outside and buttery on the inside.
We sat at the little chefs counter and had a ball watching all the flambé.

We travel all over, I can honestly say this is the best food with the most amazing flavors and variation of flavors. We started with the vegan crab cakes(delicious) to the scallops that were cooked perfectly, ended with the Ribeye over parsnips that were puréed and friend potatoes. The absolute best meal we have ever had. Jen the owner is so great, Brian the bar tender of mastered drinks to Emily our server with great suggestions. This place is a must try. Thank you for the best experience we could ask for.

Delicious food, great size appetizers and plates. Food took a little long, but the service made up for it, the waitress was very friendly and helpful. Wine selection was phenomenal!

I just had the best burger I’ve ever had. My wife ‘s souffler was also out of this world. Great food and high end creative dishes. Cozy but loud ambiance. Highly recommend !

Our best dinner experience in Stowe by far. Service was incredible and the food was spectacular. We called to make reservations a month before our trip and were so happy we did. We will definitely be back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am writing this review from Plate, nestled in the picture-perfect mountains of Stowe, Vermont, a place that harmoniously blends culinary delight with stunning natural beauty. From the moment I entered, it was as if I was wrapped in a warm hug of charming rustic elegance.

The maestro behind the bar, Brian, exhibits a level of mixology that is akin to an art form. He is the Michelangelo of Margaritas, the Da Vinci of Daiquiris, delivering each cocktail with a balance of flavors that dances on the palate. An encounter with him and his finely curated list of libations was a show in itself, adding an extra dash of merriment to the whole experience.

The menu at Plate sings a symphony of vibrant local flavors, each dish a testament to the heart and soul of Vermont. The seasonally driven cuisine reflects the bounty of the surrounding landscape and takes you on a gastronomic journey that you’d be hard-pressed to forget.

The ambiance is an enchanting blend of cozy meets chic. The décor pays homage to the beautiful mountains just outside its windows, providing a picture-frame view of Stowe’s majestic peaks. It’s a remarkable place where the food and surroundings compete for your attention, and both win!

In all, Plate has offered an experience that is less of a meal and more of an event. It’s a jewel tucked away in the mountains of Vermont, a place that marries the aesthetic of the landscape with a culinary offering that is every bit its equal. A must-visit for food and nature lovers alike! Brian and the rest of the team have indeed crafted a haven that’s sure to satisfy your stomach and soul. I couldn’t be happier to be here!

Really enjoyed dining here. We didn't have reservations (recommended) but we were able to snag a couple of counter seats at the window without any wait. The service was excellent, even though the restaurant was packed. We had the seafood spring rolls as an appetizer - delicious although a little small to share. For entrees, we had the gnocci (vegetarian) and the cod, both dishes were a treat - each bite was savoured. For dessert, the apple crumble was excellent, as was the banana pudding and "special" chocolate. Loved eating here, however I do feel this place should be $$$ instead of $$.

WOW! The food at Plate was phenomenal. Everything I ate was packed with flavor and very fresh tasting. Would definitely come back here. The restaurant itself was very noisy, so if you’re looking for a quiet ambiance this isn’t the place. But if you don’t care about that and are looking for good food, definitely eat here.

My wife and I visit this place every time we come to town to ski at Stowe. Always wonderful servers and host staff. We don’t drink, so we have nothing to comment on the drinks here. Mussels are wonderful, scallops wonderful, and the Sea Bass is wonderful as well. Thank you !

The food was delicious and the cocktails were nice. Me and my friends tried a variety of them. I LOVED the ribeye, the pork shoulder, and the scallops!! I honestly didn't have a bad food item while there. You have to make a reservation ahead of time, but I think you'll find it worth it
