Had to wait awhile for a table. The place was packed! Service was great! Waitress was visiting table and asking if we needed anything. The place smelled heavenly--smelled the bread made on premises. Dug into food when set in front of us. Delicious! California omelette was light and fluffy and tasty. The home fries were crispy on the outside and soft and mushy on the inside. I thought they were seasoned to perfection, my husband thought they were bland. His Farmer's plate was great! The blueberry pancakes were so good that I never got a taste. Come in hungry! Lots of wonderful food to try! Sorry about the pictures, the food was so good, I forgot to takes pictures till it was almost done. Took off atmosphere rating because every time the door opened, you would get a blast of cold air on the legs--high back benches protected the back. Single digit VT weather, I wasn't prepared for.

This restaurant reminds many older locals of their youth... for the amazing bread, or farther back when it was a hardware store. Nowadays it is known more for an amazing selection of tasty, scratch-made food; both breakfast and lunch... until 2pm. You will have the most trouble choosing. Oh, their salads are ginormous, as are most servings. You may have to wait, due to limited waitstaff, but the food and friendliness will not disappoint you. Booth, table and bar service. Reservations are recommended if you want to get seated quickly. Bread is still for sale; first come, first served. Family friendly, high chairs for the littles. Cash/CC.

We just loved this experience start to finish. The staff was super friendly- definitely listen to their recommendations they know their stuff. I got The Farmer and is was all delicious. The Vermont Real Maple syrup was the best! My husband got the eggs Florentine and the deep fried French toast and loved it. We will definitely be back! Oh and if you get an iced coffee add some maple syrup to it!

Quick, friendly service. The menu stacked with an impressive range of options. I was told I could order anything on the menu. In the mood for breakfast, I ordered the sausage biscuits and gravy. It came with eggs and home fries. Everything was cooked perfectly. There were so many other choices on the menu, including some lunch and dinner options that looked mouth-watering. I would definitely visit again. Great experience.

A very quaint restaurant with a large menu and full bar. We stopped in for breakfast on a Thursday morning before heading to Smuggler’s Notch to Ski. It was not crowed but word is the weekends are very crowded and reservations are recommended-even for breakfast. We were seated quickly and brought hot coffee. We decided to have mimosas and they were very good—ratio was just right—not overly heavy with OJ. There were also other morning drink specials on the board. We both ordered 2 eggs, bacon, rye toast, and potatoes. Potatoes were really good (the little square cubes style) and the bacon was thick and crisp. Definitely enjoyed our breakfast. Staff was very friendly. Would absolutely go back again.

We're staying at Smuggler's Notch a few miles up the road and decided to try this wonderful brunch stop. They offer several types of fresh bread baked on-premises. Servers/hosts are super friendly and attentive. We loved it so much we went back two days in a row. Probably would have been our "regular" breakfast spot if we were staying longer. It's worth making reservations because they can get busy, but they turn tables over pretty quickly. Prices are a little high, but not out of range for the area, and the tasty dishes are worth it. A++ all around.

Great country restaurant!! So many good options. Favorite was the maple Toast. A huge piece of country bread that was griddled and then topped with maple cream!! The raisin French toast was terrific also as well as the Steak Scramble. Essentially a steak and cheese with scrambled egg. Get there early since it fills up quickly.

Always a busy place on the weekends, but their food is definitely worth it!! We take every flatlander that comes to visit us here because we know it’s always an awesome meal. The open faced scramble is fantastic. Oh yeah…and Kayla and Esther are the best!!

After a brief snowfall, many of the local restaurants closed earlier in the day. With about an hour or so before closing, 158 Main told us to come on down to get something to eat. The restaurant has a great selection of food items and serves large portions. Breakfast items are available all day as well.

Had brunch on a Saturday and it was fantastic. Even at 2pm it was packed. I had crab cakes Benedict and I watched the making of my spicy hollandaise sauce take place right beside me. Everything was delicious and the waitstaff was great.

Absolutely phenomenal. So stuffed and food was delicious. The Yankee with cheddar cheese is a great option. Their homefries are the crispiest ever. Would love to return again sometime.

Exceptional experience overall. Food was fantastic, reasonably priced, great portions, cozy atmosphere, and friendly staff! We each ordered the green mountain flatbread and split the grilled maple bread. I would come back and eat that grilled bread every single visit. 100% worth the wait for a table!
