Absolutely fabulous. Indoor dining and outdoor seating in the summer great if you want to bring your dog! The food is consistently great! the specials are fabulous.
The owner Kate puts her heart into everything! Our waitress Brittany is always so nice! The cook is amazing! The pastry’s and muffins are yummy and coffee fabulous! Try the s’mores coffee!

This cafe has a wonderful ambiance! Lots of natural light in the morning and a small town Gilmore Girls vibe. The staff were super nice and the food was delicious. They also offer fresh baked goods, including a gluten free banana bread this morning.

Brunch was good! Wait was tolerable, wasn’t very busy at 10:30/11 a.m. on a Monday. Food was yummy, price point was great. Will totally go back.

Quick breakfast of French toast and coffee hit the spot. Quaint decor and friendly service make this spot a winner.

I ordered the smoked salmon omelet and my husband had the big breakfast. It was DELICIOUS!!

What an absolutely delicious breakfast spot! Today was our first time going & we most certainly will be back. Did i mention they had homemade apple cider donuts?!?! It's easy to see why they won awards recently 💓🏆🍩

Met my Dad here for brunch (breakfast is served all day- huge bonus!) We sat outside as it was a gorgeous October day. You can hear the church bells from here as well, very charming. I was impressed to find out they had decaf cappuccinos , and milk alternatives such as unsweetened almond milk and oat milk. The cappuccino was huge, and even with almond milk, there was a ton of froth. Awesome.
I built my own omelette - also pleased they have olive oil for cooking oil. I had an egg white omelette with spinach, mushroom and onion with Pumpernickel toast, and a side of oatmeal- YUM!Dad had an omelette as well, I forget which one…but we both ate every single bite.
This will definitely be our new spot for breakfast/lunch, or even for a coffee date :-)

We just had breakfast outside on this beautiful Sunday morning. Both of us ordered bake poached eggs. Delicious!!

Excellent finding. Typical cafe but with kind of different menu. Good gluten free choice and good coffee, pancakes, etc

This is my second time here and the food is incredible we sat outside with our dog as the locals walked up and down the street. Service is prompt and the food is prepared exactly how it's ordered. If your looking for a nice breakfast or just a cup of coffee and a bagel check this place out!

As usual I got the Paleo pancakes. I literally travel from my town to Old Saybrook every few months to get these.

Very nice breakfast outside. Quick, hot, fresh, Paleo, covid friendly! The Montenegro Scramble, Fresh Stack, Italian omelette and Cappuccino are great.

Paperback Cafe is awesome! The freshest food, amazing menu choices, and solid attention to detail. Kate has created such a cozy, warm environment and really cares about each and every customer. They have outdoor seating which is beautiful! Also, the best smoothie- The Caveman; Healthy and delicious. Great gluten free options which is always a plus and will pretty much make anything you want. Very friendly staff- Maxine is awesome!
Full coffee bar including lattes, espressos, etc. Kate always comes up with unique specials and you’re sure to have a great experience every time you go :) Highly recommend!

Got take out order of a Turkey Club man, it hit the spot! Girl at the register when picked up give her props, couple in front of me ordering were so clueless and she kept her cool and sorta brushed off the dumbness and made light of it, I would have lost my mind. But anyways great little family owned joint! Never knew it was there, be back for lunch break soon enough I’m sure!

The new ownership of Paperback Cafe has breathed a new life into this quaint, coastal restaurant that it so desperately deserved! Not only is the menu fully revived with delicious choices but you are greeted by a clean, fresh
and friendly atmosphere. We very much enjoyed our last family outing and look forward to many more breakfasts in the future!

Always have a lovely breakfast or lunch with family and friends at Paperback Cafe. Food is tasty, service is friendly and efficient. Seating outside is a plus on a beautiful day!
Favorites include Berry, Berry French Toast, Build Your Own Omelette, and Scrambled Everything for Breakfast; and the Tropical Chicken Salad, Murray’s Grill, Tuna Melt and Pastrami Reuben for lunch. Also love that all lunch items are served with carrot sticks with Housemade Ranch dip instead of chips or fries!!
