It's my favorite beach to visit in Connecticut . It is a perfect beach to watch the sunset . They have a campground right next to the beach. There are restrooms and two small places near the bathrooms to get a snack. Loves Megs point where can can stop and learn about the wild life. They have large pavilions for group gathering

I absolutely love this place. It seems like every time I go, I find a new place to explore or find something new. It is a great place for hiking, biking, camping, picnics. You name it. I go there to do wildlife photography, and there is never a shortage. It can get really busy in the summer, but that's what happens when you have great beaches.

Words cannot describe the beauty of this area. The trails the beach the marsh are just so amazing. I suggest you come down here in any form possible. If your on a boat or kayak along the coast, biking or driving around. Anything. It is some of it not the most beautiful place in Connecticut and I can say this with confidence. Please take any amount of time out of your day just to take in the natural Beauty found in this area!

We love the beach and campground. We have stayed a few times. It's been very warm must have a generator to survive this heat. Otherwise I have no complaints. Staff is very nice, bath houses are clean and we'll maintained.

Awesome park. Great 2-mile long beach. Hiking trails. Very busy on weekends, so if you come late then you risk not to get in as they close the entrance. They will reopen the gate around 3-4 pm.

Beautiful beach and park! It's definitely worth the trip! If your car doesn't have CT state license plates AND it's not between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, you won't have to pay to enter.

This is definitely the prettiest coastal state park in Connecticut. You have so many different topographical features, such as glacial moraines, tide pools, salt and freshwater ponds, meadows and forests and of course the beautiful beaches. Meigs Point Nature Center is a family-friendly conservation center located within the park. Great for birders, nature lovers and beach goers alike.

Amazing views of the sound. Great bouldering, and wildlife spotting. I've also seen a good number of people succeed with Surf fishing in the evening. Highly recommend it as far as beaches in CT go.

Nice park, right off 95. Great for all kinds of camping. Camp sites a very close to the beach. The beaches are full of shells. The water is calm and on a good day you can see long island . Lot of people fishing. Saw some decent catches in the bucket. There are rocks in one of the beaches that is so cool to hang out. Winding hiking trails that run close to the beach and swamp. The water was still chilly in September but I guess that's all of New England. Great place for beach camping.

Very shelly, our feet are raw. But gorgeous huge area, only $15 for non CT. Everyone seemed to adhere to social distancing. Water a little rough for my littles, and shells were brutal. But a good time was had and we'll be back

We seriously love going to Hammonasset. It is a pretty nice beach overall, but the areas that are devoted to nature are fantastic. They even have a small nature center you can go to. The fact that it is now free for state residents makes it even that much better. Bathrooms, places to buy food, camping, trails, they have it all.

Favorite place to go regularly: lots of different beaches, boardwalk beach biking, birds and the breeze, sounds of soft waves, camping, sunsets and swimming, walking with the dogs, watching the pier with fisherman

If you have a dog you’re allowed in the picnic area. There grassy fields, beautiful marsh scenery and a trail thru some trees that comes out to an inlet.
