Cedar Valley County Park

I grew up in these parks, in fact I was born in the old dance hall at the top of the hill. I spent my youth fishing in the lime stone quarries, swimming in the cedar river, and hiking all over these trails.

It is an amazing place with so much history and natural beauty. There is even a prehistoric Native American cave just north of the bridge on the east bank of the river.

If you are ever driving through Iowa on Interstate 80 take the time to have a picnic lunch here and enjoy this hidden time lost gem of a park.

Outhouses for bathrooms. Small campground with a boat ramp and playground. Pavilion rental with campfire, water and playground.

Didn't come for the amenities, the sunrise view over the river is phenomenal

Discovered this park by accident and was blown away by it! Lots of unique sights that other area parks do not offer. This converted quarry brings a lot to the table. The ponds are probably great for fishing or swimming (even though its not allowed...whatever) and the trails are nice and hilly and the views are awesome. There is a lot of remaining limestone lying around that are fun to climb.

Spent the weekend camping in this wonderful park. Pavillion was clean and very useful for our girl scout campout. Grassy area for tents was well groomed. Many of the trail are well maintained, although not explored to their full extent, local maps claims 20+ miles of trails leading in and out of the park. Most of the trail follow the Cedar River. Will definitely be returning to camp and try the local fishing. BTW...plenty of trees for hammocking.

Very nice, well kept park next to the Cedar River. Area for campers with hookups. Trails, fishing, picnic tables and shelter house. Great place to explore.

Good place to getaway... calm and peaceful

It's an old school campground. Usually not busy, and large sites. It's very pretty, and tranquil there. Hope it stays that way for a long time!

Cedar Valley park is a great park for family activities like hiking, fishing, camping, the boat access is easy to use and popular on the weekend.

A real gem of a county park. Very nice but short loop hike over looking the Cedar River. Camping, some with electric hook ups. River access.
