Danbury Quarter Cemetery

Any cemetery from the 1800s tucked away in the forest truly makes you wonder about the areas history. the people that lived and worked the land.
Beautifully Eerie is how I describe it. All overgrown and left for nature to reclaim, alot of the people buried here where military. The driver there is definitely a 4x4 trail the road is very washed out in some spots you can also hike in from the road, the trail used to be open past the cemetery but it's been blocked by the land owner to avoid cross traffic.

Took an interesting detour thanks to saying yes to dirt roads on my gps route. Somewhere near another dirt road named Old Waterbury Turnpike turned onto Danbury Quarter Road, Winsted CT. After several miles of truck-rough dirt road came to a dead end and found an 1800’s cemetery.
Humbling to be here so far off today’s beaten path and imagine it as a main road over a century ago.
