The Basil Leaf Café

My husband and I decided to try this place for dinner last minute on a Friday night. We walked in without reservations and there were no tables available (totally understandable) so we found a comfy spot at the bar. The bartender was super friendly despite clearly being pretty busy, and the service was quick. The caesar salad was fresh as hell, and you can taste that the dressing is made in-house. For our entrees, we ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and the fettuccine alfredo with fried chicken. Both entrees were incredible. Sauces were perfect and the fried chicken was amazing. Truly the best pasta we have ever had. We both had plenty of leftovers and left satisfied. We were going to try the cheesecake, but we were stuffed! The prices are not bad at all considering the quality and portion sizes. A day later and we already have reservations to go back for our anniversary. Very excited to try their other menu items.

Wow is all I can say. Food was amazing. Spices were perfect in my Cajun pasta. Brussel sprouts seasoned to perfection and old fashion was perfect.

My new go to for Italian food! Perfect for date night! The waitress greeted us lovely genuine smile.
Food came in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious! We tried two dishes and loved em both!
For desert we had the tiramisu and it was out of this world good!
Wanna know the best part? Was very reasonable priced too! Will be back!

Basil leaf is one of my all time fav restaurants in Lawrence. For sure a go to when visitors come to town! The food was delicious and served in the perfect portion. Brooke B was my waitress when I came in. She was super personable and made sure to come and check back often. If you get the privilege of having Brooke B as a server you are in good hands!!

Great meal at Basil Leaf Cafe. Everything we ate was great. We had the chicken cordon blue tortellini and the wedge salad. It came with a focaccia bread stick that was fresh and flavorful. I would highly recommend this pasta dish. There was a live saxophonist playing the night we were there. Our server was attentive and trained. I'd also recommend the $30 bottle of DOCG Chianti. Prices are on par with other restaurants in Lawrence.

My family and I had a great experience here. This was our first visit since they moved from their little spot on 9th St. The food was great and the service was great. I will say that the Chicken Alfredo was my favorite. Due to the real cheeses they used, it was flavorful until the last bite. The meal comes with garlic bread, so you don’t need to order the appetizer of them unless you really REALLY like garlic bread that much.

I would definitely go there again! As a first date with in 6 months it definitely didn't disappoint. The salmon tasted like I was back in New England.

We went here the other night for dinner and it was a great experience! Our waitress was so good with our kids! When my eldest told her that she loved doing the mazes on the kids menu, she went our of her way to print her up 3 more mazes to do! She can also be kind of picky like many toddlers are, but everything on the kids menu was something she'd enjoy! All the portions were generous sizes and everything was delicious. The staff was all friendly and the food didn't take long to come out. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town!

Had an amazing experience tonight. My roommate and I decided to treat ourselves after a long week and these guys delivered! The food was hot, fresh and delicious! Our server was very nice and made sure we got what we needed. Definitely coming back in the near future.

The basil leaf is wonderful. We had amazing service & delicious food here in a cozy, intimate environment. I had the Mac & cheese, the meatball appetizer and a Caesar salad for dinner, followed by tiramisu & cheesecake both for dessert. All were scrumptious! Definitely come and try their food.

Our server John was amazing. He was attentive without hovering. Very helpful with our wine selection.

I'm here to share my testimony about the Basil Leaf Cafe. My friends and I were walking on Mass Street desperately looking for a place to eat for lunch and we decided to try this place out. Based off the fancy outside look of it, we had Trust and safe to say we made the right choice. I had the Tortellini and I was a big fan of it, loved the bacon they put on it! If you're looking for some exquisite pasta, this is definitely the right place. Not only was the food amazing, but I was very satisfied with the service. Our server was Kristen, and she was very friendly and down to earth and ensured that we had a great experience here. We went in a group of four, but Kristen made it feel there was a fifth because we immediately became friends with her. I highly recommend this place to anyone, and would give this place 6 stars if I could. It's a Lock that I'll be coming back.

First time at the Basil Leaf and it was amazing! I loved the Shrimp Scampi and the Tiramisu Martini! Our server, Elayne, recommended both, and I was impressed with both. Would recommend to anyone new to Lawrence, or who has been wanting to try! 🤍

Loved my salad and Lake was lovely bartender! Will be coming back thanks to him and the amazing food! Only complaint... as small as it is. The table lights are very brights vs how bright the resturant is. But that wasn't a huge issue so 5 stars.
