Great service. The food was good, but the salad tasted like water, no salad dressing on it. The atmosphere was good. It just needs better lighting. It's hard to read the menu's

Open year round, the Newes is just such a cozy spot, with a fireplace for those cold, snowy days. And the perfect meal? A bowl of their French Onion Soup - it really is the best one on island! Get the fried chicken if you're hungry - so delicious. Their specials are always great as well!

Sat outside on a warm summer day. Beer selection was excellent and typical but delicious pub food. Highly recommend

We stopped here for lunch and my wife and I both had excellent salads. the garden salad was good but very basic while to the Caesar salad with chicken was more of a meal.

I love the atmosphere. You feel like you are in an English pub. The food is Fab. Truffle fries outstanding. Lobster Mac and cheese decadent and delicious. Try the warm apple crisp for dessert, you won't be sorry. Take a walk along the waterfront after to burn some of it off. I sat by the warm fire with a cold Guinness. The perfect way to spend a chilly evening in Edgartown

A classic for Martha's vineyard not to be missed. It is one of the few reasonably priced restaurants on the island.

We spent the week of Thanksgiving, 2016 at The Captain Morse house and were at The Newes From America Pub... almost every night! Great food, amazing atmosphere and it made you feel like you were somewhere out of a story book. Good luck collecting your "tokens".

I have been coming here for a long time. We sit at the bar and it’s always nice to see Doug. He is friendly and professional. I went the other day and Alex was bartending. He was also very on top of things and friendly. They have a new menu and so many things looked really good along with the old standbys that have been tweaked by the new chef. I had the fish and chips and they did not disappoint. The fish tasted nice and fresh and the batter with light with what seemed like a lemon flavor enhancing it just enough. Out of habit I asked for a side of tarter sauce. After the third bite with the tarter sauce it was clear that it wasn’t needed. The atmosphere is always nice and cozy with the fireplace. I definitely recommend and looking forward to going back!

I went in April (off-season) and had a good time. Bar area was full. Had good conversation. Bartender was cool and friendly. I had a local beer that was tasty. I ate spinach dip w/ pita and the ribs w/ dry rub, they were real good too. Not inexpensive. Atmosphere was laid back not overlly loud or modern. Overall, I would recommend this pub.

We have been dinning at the Newes for over 20 years. The food was always consistently good. A new Chief and a new menue has arrived this season. The staples are still on the menu but now a more sofisticated offering is now available. My wife and I had a wild mushroom Rissoto dish with locally source Kale positivly delish, also we dined on Fishermans Stew that was prefectly seasoned, plenty of fresh fish, chorizo amazing veggies. The stew was $24.00 other restaurants on the island would charge double for such a lovely dish. This is the most reasonably priced restaurant in Edgartown for high quality food.

Cool spot in a cozy bar/tavern area where you can grab some great drinks and very good food as well. This place has more of your tavern based fare, so if you're looking for a quick bite to eat around lunch or an early dinner, this could be an excellent place to stop. Loved the atmosphere here as it really had a nice historical feel to it.

Winter visit to Martha's Vineyard. We found this great spot to warm up and get some quick plates. We had a beer sampling and great fish and chips plate with fried and coleslaw plus a clam chowder to share. Everything was fresh, crispy and delicious.

I've been coming here for years and years, and finding good pub comfort food in downtown Edgartown never gets old. Really like everything here -- and a bag of fries is always a popular appetizer here to share. Beer list isn't anything to write home about, and they're often out of a couple options, but you're coming here mainly for the food and the atmosphere. One of my favorites.
