There's not a lot to say, except this is a shining star in Wellfleet. A terrific menu cooked beautifully, a lovely front yard to eat in under gorgeous Cape sunsets...

Amazing food, wonderful service, great atmosphere, fair prices. Excellent swordfish, gourmet quality steak, fine dessert, excellent bread- we forgive the $5 surcharge! We eat at many well-rated restaurants but this is definitely at the top of the list.

Wonderful restaurant - with an early bird special from 5-6 pm. We have not been here for some time as we moved. Since we were back visiting, we decided to drop by. I had the New England clam chowder, a salad with choice of dressing, and the prime rib. Delicious! My wife had the Kale soup and baked cod. She lived hers as well. Give it a try! I strongly recommend.

My family of 5 stayed on property recently and needed dinner quickly. We ordered 2 chicken teriyaki and 3 NY strip steaks. It was ready in 20 minutes and my kids devoured everything. The baked potatoes were amazing and the flavor of the chicken was the best teriyaki I've personally ever tasted. We went back the last night of our vacation for the same items. It was still incredible! Very reasonably priced as well!

Quaint, cozy pub and restaurant with basic yet tasty food steeped in lots of New England charm. What's not to love? The fish and chips were good. Friends at steak tips which were very tender though mild in flavor. Strong pub menu, with lots of options. I'll go back to try some of the other dishes.

We have eaten here many times over 20 years and just had their thanksgiving feast dinner. It was fantastic and the service excellent as usual. Bob managed to get us in and it made our thanksgiving special. We have never been disappointed with the Whitman House. Thanks again, and can't wait to return, Roger from CT.

My husband and I discovered this place on our honeymoon 16 years ago and loved it. Went back twice on that vacation. This year, I took our 2 kids here and they loved it so much, they wanted to go back twice! The early bird special is a great value!

First time here on a last minute search for dinner. The Teriyaki chicken was very tender and flavorful. The prime rib was also excellent.

Been there every summer since 2002. Great place to have quite dinner at the restaurant, nice drink at the bar and a cosy meal at the tavern. The owners have been around for many years. The fish is always fresh and the prices very reasonable.
bottom line - if you get to Ptown, its definitely worth the 10 miles to experience the true Cape Cod spirit.

Ambiance galore, what a magnificent place to have a nice local fresh meal, cozy, good food, reasonable price, great service, efficient..karen our server was great, funny, relaxed. Highly recommend local seafood, prime rib, scallops, tuna, striped bass..cocktails nice and tall too! Typical new England in style 1900s comfort..

We look forward to eating at the Whitman House restaurant every time we visit the cape. The seafood is superb and the menu is classic American. The kitchen and waitstaff work very hard to provide a good experience for you.

Hidden Gem, in the Cape the food is pretty good, and the service is on top!

The Whitman House Restaurant located in North Truro on Cape Cod at the corner of Route 6 and Great Hollow Road. They're situated on four acres of landscaped Pine Tree forest property, resort hunting and fishing cabbin / cottage style, with an abundance of parking. I started my employment in the year of 1979 for a couple beautiful seasons as a Dish Washer, Prep Cook; Soups, Salads, and Deserts. Meat Cutter, before I rotated to another military Air Force station with my parents. My last position was assistant line / dinner cheff for the best and freshest, Fried Clams, Backed / Breded, Boiled or Broiled; New England Lobsters & Steak I ever had the pleasure to work with, not to mention the staff of owners and operating, generous hosts; the Rice family have been there serving great meals and comforts since 1962. there is something for everyone. It’s very kick back I enjoyed preparing the very reasonably priced casual meals. Hope to see you soon!

Just across the street. But I'd drive linger, in Cape traffic to go there. Food's always great! Friendly and comfortable, a great place for tourists and locals.

Excellent tasting home made food from the home made cheese and crackers to the main meal. My fish was excellent and my wife's twin lobsters was fantastic.

Excellent country Inn style restaurant. Best prime rib and baked stuffed lobster anywhere! Salads a huge! Alway enjoy this restaurant and Setvice is very attentive!

No question the best restaurant on Cape Cod. Outstanding service and excellent food. This place is a classic restaurant the kind you can't find anymore. A must visit quality and service at its best!

Highly recommend. Nice atmosphere, great food, reasonable prices. Our waitress seemed out of sorts, and left early. Fortunately, the grandson of the owner took over, and treated us very well.
