Brian Joyce, CPA

I've been taking my elderly mother's taxes to Brian for several years now. Every year we are late and he happily files an extension for us. She owned 3 duplexes and my mother was not the best at record keeping. When I bring the mess of receipts in, Brian takes my pile with a smile and in no time, he lets me know the taxes are ready. Brian's prices are very reasonable, about half the price of the place my mother had been taking them before. I look forward to working with him again - I definitely feel like he has our best interest at heart.

Brian has been outstanding with my taxes over the last three years. I have a unique situation with my music career and small business that causes quite a few headaches. Somehow he always seems to work things out and I've been paying less in taxes than I have in the past. I'll be sticking with Brian and definitely recommend him.

Worse experience with an accountant ever! My old cpa retired so met with Brian mid-February to discuss our returns and drop off documents. Ever since then, it was a struggle to get any info/updates from him. Kept telling me he was working on my returns that week but never heard from him. April rolls around and still not having anything from Brian, I called him to find out what's going on with our returns and he gave me nothing but excuses and ended up hanging up on me! I called back and demanded all my documents back. Had to file late for the first time ever BUT extremely happy I didn't let these guys do my taxes as I'm sure there would have been a ton of errors given how unorganized and overloaded, he seems to be.

Take your business elsewhere. I don't know how he is still in business. He messed up my taxes, never responded to emails, calls, etc. right now I am having to pay $5,000 to the IRS due to his lack of attention, diligence and customer service, when I shouldn't owe anything. The other poor reviews you read, you think maybe it's one off, that is not the case, everything everyone has complained about messing stuff up and not being responsive is 100% accurate. If I could leave a review with 0 stars, I would.

I am sure Mr. Joyce will respond to this post with blaming me, but he was slow to respond, always saying he would get the paperwork (never did) and dragged out an IRA distribution on an estate for over 8 months. I finally went through the company holding the IRA myself and got the distribution handled promptly. Nothing will ever be his fault...just ask him!

This was the worst experience with a CPA I have ever had. He solicited our business, no engagement letter, commitment of fees, lost passwords, rarely any communication on any matters, said there was no proof he filed extensions for us. I would never recommend this CPA.
