Sendik's Food Market

This grocery store is everything I ever wanted. It's small, but it has an enormous selection packed somehow (the basement level storage added around 2013 or so while we still lived in Milwaukee is probably the secret) into this innocent looking grocery store. I loved this store while we lived locally, and still go back here when we drive through!

Angie at the deli counter this morning was so friendly! I made a purchase and then went on to do some shopping. I decided to go back and pick up more of your delicious Italian pasta salad. I said, sorry to bother you again. And Angie said, it's never a bother. We went on to chat about the cold weather and wished each other a good day. Thank you Angie!

Amazing local supermarket. Lots of great local options, better prices than whole foods. Loved the store brand goods here, very high quality. Parking lot gets packed quickly on the weekends.

I give this Sendiks 4 1/2 stars. The meat department is the absolute BEST!!!! I have made custom request on specialty cut steaks and Nate has always cheerfully accepted and delivered the best meat products. If I pick up hamburger it is red and fresh all the way thru... unlike a Sendiks on the east side that wraps older meat with fresh looking meat. The only knock is the produce department has over ripe produce. The bakery, wine, and soups are top notch. Comfortable small grocery store feel and nice folks work there. Yes, you pay a little more .... but nice to support something other than the large chain mega stores.

Amazing selection in the throwback store that's been there for over half a century. Great hot bar and deli selections and a wide variety from the butcher.

It was a busy time, but when I asked where I could find an item, I got help immediately. Then one more question: are you out of Amish chicken? He went downstairs to check. Coming right up! Glad I asked.

Excellent food, a friendly staff and great guy that owns the place. No wonder we go there twice a week for lunch. I guess this an endorsement for the place, 'ya think?

Wow!! Gteat place to shop for very fresh produce, meats & seafoods. In addition, there is a nice selection of wine, cheeses & fresh dairy. The flower & gift shop is an added treat with unique arrangements & specialty items.

I'm not from here and never been tona sendiks but I liked it. The guy giving out samples might be one of my favorite people ever. And the pastry/confectionery was excellent but not over priced.

Oven Gold turkey was on sale AND they had my bread (Brownberry Natural Wheat... Hard to find...)!

Excellent custom butcher cuts. 8oz custom cuts, perfect on the Weber grill along with sauteed mushrooms. Great for Thanksgiving.

Very nice, well organized, and freindly environment. Excellent 🥩 dept. with butchers that know how to prepare special cuts to your satisfaction. Good specials every week, makes this my "go to store".

I had to give this store another shot after a bad experience years ago. The experience was a complete opposite of the first.
Excellent customer service, fresh foods, and I even found some items that I had been searching for a long time. I will definitely be returning ☺

This is a nice store. A little bit of everything. There was even a lobster boil going on in the parking lot. Next time, I'll try the hot foods, that looked delicious.

Quality products, professional staff, great variety - overall a nice neighborhood store. They also have the seafood and meat section. They even cut the meat and chicken based on our personal preferences. Want to go green and support the planet, choose their paper bag option instead of plastic. Vegetables and fruits are fresh and I have found some good and tasty grapes and apples here.

Sendik's is quality of quantity, and the quality is worth the extra penny. Sendik's has friendly and helpful service, and is quick and easy. What most people take for granted in the heart of city, is a staple in the day of the healthy Wauwatosa family.

Absolutely love this place. Food is always fresh. Meat and veggies. I wanna be nice so I won't say anything about the customers acting real snooty.. 🤣. but.... I speak anyway.... the staff at the North Ave location are really exceptional. They actually will stop what they are doing and walk you to the aisle that you're looking for. They will even put your name on a list and call you when an item you want is in. And I love the diversity. Gives you that hometown feel.
