Bread & Buttercream Bakery

I hesitate to write this because I know it means that I'll have more competition getting their bread, but at this point it's not fair of me to keep it to myself. My whole family is obsessed with their bread. Anyone having a rough day? A baguette from Bread & Buttercream is the answer. Now, I am typically a creature of habit, but I've started to branch out because they're freaking geniuses. Croissant with cannoli filling? Genius. Cinnamon roll made with croissant? Genius. Heart shaped chocolate mousse on a brownie base? Incredible. Even the tomato pie was beyond. Not to mention, I've only ever had wonderful interactions with everyone there. So, you should absolutely go there, but leave the last baguette for me, please.

I love this adorable little bakery. They certainly do a lot from croissants, cookies, cakes, macaroons, and bread to tomato pie! Everything I’ve had from here has been delicious- I especially love their tomato pie and macaroons! Recently, I ordered a cake and the carrot cake with the cream cheese buttercream was so amazing I had to post this review. For me, a person who likes desserts with balance and that aren’t over the top sweet, I find their cake and icing to be perfect. Get a cake you won’t be disappointed!

Adding to this review as we just celebrated another birthday with a bread and buttercream cake and this was the best one yet! My daughter loves strawberry so it was a strawberry cake with strawberry butter cream and strawberries inside and out. Absolutely delicious cake and so cute. And pink! See pics.

I stopped by bread & buttercream for a pastry on my way out of delaware and i’m so glad i did! It was around noon and they had already run out of chocolate croissants, but the baker heard me ask about them and offered to take a plain croissant and put chocolate in it for me. Of course I said yes and it was delicious! Thank you both for making my Sunday morning!

Such a cute little place with honestly some of the best sweets I've ever had. We got chocolate cupcakes, one of each available cookie and an apple turnover. The cupcakes are like clouds and the frosting is perfectly sweet. The turnover was soooo flakey and the filling was perfect. And the cookies were golden brown and just a little gooey inside. Sooooo good. Absolutely going back. My one piece of advice to anyone going, GET MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED. You'll thank me later.

I am a cinamon bun snob. This is the ONLY place I've found that has the perfect cinamon buns. I got mine just out of the oven and it was heaven. If you are going to spend calories on a treat, skip the candy aisle, ice cream, and pillsbury nonsense. Bite into pure joy! ❤

A tiny bakery in North Wilmington, however with a whole LOT of tasty baked goods! I especially like their pastries, so flaky and buttery. Their cupcakes are also tasty with the my kind of level of sweetness.

Friendly people. They always make me feel welcome. Try the baklava. Better yet…try everything.
You will have a huge problem:
It’s hard to choose. But…life is too short…come back next morning and your day will be better and sweeter.

I love this place! Everything I’ve had from here has been excellent. It’s a hidden gem in North Wilmington. If you go, you have to try their version of cinnamon rolls… you will not be disappointed!

The best baked products 👌. I like their breads, pizza pie, danish pastries, and looking forward to tasting one of their specialty cakes.

Do yourself a favor and stop by Bread and Buttercream for your bread and cake needs. This lemon sponge cake with buttercream icing for my daughters baptism party was a hit! It was very yummy. While we were there to pick it up, we grabbed a loaf of sourdough bread. We used it for sandwiches and with soup. Excellent! Good local business to support!

I went Sunday for the first time looking for the best fresh tasting cinnamon roll. There was one roll left. Sure wish it was more. This was one of the best I've tasted! The roll was light and buttery tasting. Delightful flavor. All around deliciousness!

Some friends came over for dinner and brought with them a loaf of Italian Bread. WOW! The dinner was terrific but the Bread was to die for! It was the best bread that I think that I have ever had. The crust was perfect and it appeared to be hand made. They told me that they had purchased it at the Bread & Buttercream Bakery on Marsh Road. I had never heard of this bakery, but I knew the area. We finished the loaf in the next two days and as soon as I could I went there and purchased another. They have an incredible selection of baked goods. They only make Bagels on Thursdays, Challah and Brioche rolls on Fridays. What a great place and I recommend the Italian bread highly. Light toas and marmalade, yummm.

I ordered three cakes and some cookies for my wife’s 50th birthday party. Ordering was easy and everything was ready at the agreed time. The cakes were fantastic. They looked great and were absolutely delicious!!

When I say this is the BEST bakery I have ever been too, I mean it!! The couple that owns this bakery is the hardest working couple I have ever meant! I can definitely tell that they work tirelessly/around-the-clock to always have their fresh and delicious pastries, breads, and cakes available.

Although everything they bake is out of this world, my top three recommendations are below:

1.) Their cinnamon buns which are magnificent are both gooey and crispy and simply melt in your mouth! (attached a picture below)

2.) Their torpedo (also called mini hoagie) rolls, especially when you get them just out of the oven. They are to die for!

3.) However, my favorite pastry of all is their napoleon, triangular, flakey, drizzled in sweet icing, and filled with a yummy yellow custard pastry. The owners actually came up with this pastry themselves and you must try it! There is nothing that beats it anywhere else!

You have got to stop by this bakery and pick up some treats. Trust me, you will not regret it!

This bakery is amazing!! I 100% recommend to everyone. We ordered a cake for my sisters baby shower and it turned out beautifully and the flavor was amazing!

Absolutely stunning baked goods of all kinds. And the staff is wonderful. With my latest visit, I had to stop and take the time to write a review, as the cake was stunning in every way! Every raspberry was placed in perfect harmony :)

One of the best cinnamon buns I've ever tried (at it was one of the discounted day-olds!). Flakey and buttery. Also the chocolate hazelnut cake slice was delightful. It's got some kind of crunchies in one of the layers that have a great texture - maybe puffed rice? I also got a cherry-filled croissant which was very good. The filling was tart, not too sweet. Will definitely be back.

Ok let me first start off by saying I have literally found a hidden gem of a bakery and it's right by my house. Excited is an understatement. I walked in today to see if they had any premade cakes. I should've known to just order one but I did get to buy some cupcakes and this is literally thee BEST tasting cake and icing I've ever had. The cake was so moist, and the icing was not too sweet and literally the perfect amount of richness. I will most definitely be ordering a cake from them without a doubt and I suggest you do the same👍🏻❤ Update: My kids just had a cupcake each and both of them also said this is the best cake they've ever tasted. Kudos to the baker's that work hard for your customer's. You definitely have a permanent customer in me.

Always delicious and friendly service. Responds quickly to Facebook messaging, too. I had messaged them asking if they have two French baguettes which they quickly confirmed and held for me until I stopped in on my way home. Also, their cranberry flaxseed bread is fabulous! The baguette worked well for our homemade bahn mi sandwiches.
