HPB is my go to bookstore
Why pay full price for something if you don't have to?
But the real treasure is inside the store, every shelf has useful knowledge......
The little kids, teens & adults all like half price books....
Great place to start a craft or hobby.....

I genuinely love half price. I choose it over barnes and nobles every time. No, it doesnt have the coffee shop but there is a boba place next door. Also! It's actually affordable!!
My book girlies listen up: all those books you put back on the shelves cause you can't afford them.. you could buy here! Half price carries everything from new releases to old favorites. They have magazines, dvds, blu ray discs, comics, video games, toys, reading tools like bookmarks, educational books, religious ones, classics, cds, and coloring books. The sections are divided and labelled well.

For all the mom's out there: Take the whole family! Make a day of it. It is totally family friendly and there is a whole section of childrens books, toy, and movies. There are also books on sale in the back (often the best finds are there!) They've got Cds for your teens collection (cause they are coming back, trust me) comics and video games for your kid who's super into marvel or star wars + anything in between, and ya novels to peek anyone interest!
You dont have alot of money? Cool. No problem. What about that pile of books in the corner? Lets be real, you KNOW you aren't going to get to them. What about those books you read already but you can handle parting with?
Sell them!! Take them to half price and get money for them. Take your moms collection of cds that she doesn't want anymore and sell them. Use that money for more books or games or movies.
It isnt that big bookstore you could get lost in like B&N. There's dust on ghe shelves and creased in the spines but you walk in and you know that those books have been loved as much as you will love them. And the place carries a nostalgia thats hard to find much less recreate anymore. The vibe is soooo small town bookstore the mc goes to to "get away from it all". And as an avid book reader, isn't it the dream to feel like that main character? :)

I found Fleetwood Mac rumors on vinyl here, and I am so happy with my purchase. Half-price books is always a magical place and I really like this location. The parking is super easy and it’s very safe. The inside of the store is very organized and clean and the staff is always accessible and helpful.

I like to come here to check out all the movies selection they have. They also have a decent selection on video game also. Not much of a reader myself, but it is nice to browse all the books. They can order whatever you are looking for if they don't have it at the location.

Best stop for inexpensive books if you want to build your "actual book" inventory. We also read digital, but there's something magical about turning paper pages in an actual book. My teens also collect CDs and I have found some great vinyl records there as well.

Pretty decent selections of book, overall a good experience inside the store, I bought 6 books here and paid 25 bucks and some change.. when they say HALF PRICED BOOKS they mean it lol from the price advertised on the back

Such a comfortable and humble little shop. Family friendly, awesome product variety, GREAT staff! Have I mentioned their parking lot and property area is way nicer than you'd expect in a more rough city. It is definitely a noteworthy shop!

Love this place. It’s the best place in Tacoma for books, records and cds. Always find uniquely wonderful entertainment.

This place is a gem! I entered the store hoping to find an album or CD by Jimmy Buffett and left with six 2024 calendars and five DVD's. Nothing i had planned on, but I am very happy with these purchases.

This place has a little bit of everything and I love it! Books, obviously, but also board and video games, movies, records, creative kits, and oddities. I have found some amazing and obscure games here as well as popular classics, and every time I go I find something I didn't know that I needed.

Great bookstore, I like the selection of books here and also the space feels bigger than some other similar stores. Staffs are very nice and willing to help. Ample parking space near by and lots of food options within minutes of walking.

I've always been in love with this store. However today made it my absolute favorite place to go. I've been searching for a copy of the Princess Bride for almost 20 years. It been incredibly hard to find and I didn't want to pay stupid prices online. Today I came in and the cashier ( Very nice young man ) looked in the system to see if they had a copy. The nice gentleman asked if I'd like to purchase it and I of course said yes. This young man came back with not only an original copy, but one that was brand new and untouched form. It was shook. It seriously made my day. Not only did the nice young man go above and beyond for me, but I was blown away by everything in the store. I HIGHLY recommend you stop by here, for absolutely ANY reason. You don't need one, they have everything!

Love this store! So much to see. It's almost overwhelming the amount of books and music in there. Truly an amazing store. Very happy I found it!

This one has a great manga and anime selection. They even have a decent clearance manga selection, but it's mostly older stuff and random volumes. This can be a good thing though if you're on the hunt to complete your collection. They kept the clr manga on a cart in the back and the new stuff on a cart up front. The manga section itself is on the left side of the store. The anime is closer to the front in the video section.

Love it. Love it. Love it. Just saw a signed Anthony Bordain book. For $200. Made me feel cool cause I have the same book on my shelf at home.

This is a great place to visit. Old books, new books, old vinyl. I understand you can sell unneeded items but this is not something I have done so cannot comment on their pricing on them.

Great deals on new and used book, vinyl, movies. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.
